Aug 13, 2010I'm sorry but there is something seriously, fundamentally, achingly, scarily wrong with that 8.2. I'm actually literally scared for the well being of myself and this country.
-
Sep 23, 2010Although it can sometimes feel like jokes are repeated, the show is a shining example of geek culture, full of funny comic, movie and video game references that young people, like me, will lap up.

BradHFeb 9, 2009They should have titled this show "4 nerds an a 6" The male nerd characters are one dimensional and unfunny, the girl is average looking and unexplored. You could put a 4 midgets playing badmitton after 2 1/2 men and it would still draw good ratings. Unwatchable!

ChristianP.Oct 23, 2007this is a disaster. every "nerd" stereotype possible, plus a storyline as cliched as the hot girl next door... the jokes are far from smart. they are easy, sad, and half-assed. kill this show now.

Oct 25, 2014I realized after watching this that the people around me laughing were less than I had imagined. This show changed my life, an awakening of sorts. It sunk in with a profound sense of finality that I am not like them, that I had outgrown my environment.
-
Dec 18, 2012This show is just so stupid another boring sitcom that just sucks like every sitcom ever invented the characters suck and never ever watch this show ever you will never laugh PERIOD!

Jan 25, 2013This show appals me, first of all the humour is forced and repetitive, it all revolves around Sheldon's OCD/Autistic tics. Second of all, I find this offensive, as it basically states that intelligent people are social train wrecks.

Jul 11, 2013Terrible. The writing, acting, and overall production is terrible. I cant believe people would watch this, if you like good tv. Stay away from this show.
-
Nov 4, 2014Crap show, crap cast, not funny, overhyped, over promoted. Is this the best we have for TV? Cmon. I hardly know anyone who even watches this unfunny garbage. Give me a break. Terrible.

May 21, 2013The big bang theory is one of the funniest sitcoms since NBC's Friends. It does not have much story but it is certainly the funniest t.v shows on CBS, beating "How I Met Your Mother" & "Two and a half men" by a huge margin in its number of viewers. The first season might seem a bit slow but in the second season the writing becomes much better.
-
AlfredoO.Nov 10, 2007The thing about this show, is that all of us geeks can identify with it and laugh.
-
-
MKOct 22, 2007Terrible. Gave it a 1 for actually making it past the first episode.

-
JasonM.Sep 24, 2007I'm a fan of How I Met Your Mother and I was taping Chuck anyways so I decided to watch this in between HIMYM and Heroes and it was a huge mistake. I had to turn it off after 10 minutes because it was so painful to watch. I'm sure it's great for people who like to laugh at nerds because they use "nerd lingo" and apparently have no social skills. It's just distasteful.

ChazJan 14, 2008I tried watching. i like most of the characters... but the effeminate, im smarter than everyone else on the planet pee-wee herman guy is way to annoying. too over the top.

Jun 27, 2013Not funny at all, and makes me feel as if my IQ drops numbers every time I hear it in the background. There's a laugh track that goes off about every 5 seconds to something that is just completely idiotic. I would not suggest anyone who is caught up in technology has any bit of intelligence to watch this show.

Apr 8, 2012This isnt comedy. This show is not funny in the slightest. And its not because im not clever enough to get the jokes, its because there are hardly any jokes in it, and whem one does finally come along, its the opposite of funny. Is there even a plot? I cannot believe the number of people that actually swallow this garbage.
-
JamesUApr 30, 2009This is a wonderfully written comedy, if you understand the science behind it.
-
-
Oct 23, 2011A fresh idea but executed poorly. Pandering to masses, BBT explains in excruciating detail any reference to geek or pop culture and eventually becomes just another sitcom. Over use of laugh track detracts from actual jokes, while many of its characters rely on the same gimmick far too often.
-

Mar 9, 2012juxtapositions: the show
horrendous jokes, cliched characters, uninteresting plot and an out of control laugh-track that forces the lesser minded audience (which is to say, 90% of them) to laugh every 2 minutes, I don't think I have ever seen a more unfunny show in my entire life. -

Feb 17, 2012I tried hard to watch this show based on what everyone else haas said about it, but I couldn't make it past the first part. The laughter was forced and the dialogue was generic almost to overly mishap the relationships between the "nerds." This is bad example of tryingto get the geek culture into mainstream.
-
Jan 27, 2012If you like this, you have no soul. Fodder for the cheeseburger, trailer park trash public. Guy below me writes "Although it feels like the jokes are repeated" still gives it a 10. Shows you how much people really care about what goes into their eye holes. Stupid rednecks.
-
Feb 3, 2012This show is entirely unrealistic but not in a good way. It relies on a cliched and offensive view of "geeks" & intelligent people that is entirely inaccurate. Being smart doesn't make you socially inept or prone to deliver corny & obvious science jokes. That said, a lot of people think this is how smart people behave. I guess you can't blame Chuck Lorre for pandering to that demographic.

BearetteOct 6, 2007Stupid show...main attraction (for men) is the busty blonde. But really, couldn't you just find more of those online? The dialogue is the worst I've ever head.

-
Aug 30, 2010This is a terrible piece of trash. Do not watch this unfunny steaming pile of junk. How this won an Emmy is a mystery, canned laughs, junk dialogue, flat characters....what more could you want?
-
WyattH.May 12, 2008A generic and lowest common denominator show. I cannot fathom how any person could enjoy this. The jokes are forced and horribly obvious, but more importantly...they're not funny!

Mar 24, 2011The first two seasons are borderline good/average, but afterwards it's just a downward spiral to boredom, geek/nerd cliches and bad jokes, they should make the show less Sheldon-centric and give more space to something else.

RudyardBMar 2, 2009There are a bunch of CBS trolls below me, because this is the worst show I've ever seen. The laugh track is out of control, and the dialogue is idiotic. Horrible Horrible Horrible, Blech.

-
Mar 2, 2011What a great idea I thought at first. Finally a comedy with smart people... but it is ruined by the annoying blond, repeated jokes and cliches. The best thing about this sitcom is the opening song.
-
Jan 6, 2012Don't be fooled by the physicist characters and their occasional academic talk....this show is pretty low-brow. Sometimes the main characters are true-to-form, other times they just feel like stereotypes. And sometimes the show gives you Married With Children-style raunch. Come to think of it, there's a lot of that.
-
MM.Oct 15, 2007This show is aimed for the above-average crowd, if your in to cars, babes, action and hard abs, skip this because you wont understand it. Besides being misunderstood, this is a fantastic new sitcom.

PN.Apr 10, 2008With out a doubt the worst thing i have seen in a long time. I thought there was no way i could hate that guy more after Roseanne but i was wrong. All the characters seem to be the exact same. Avoid at all cost, makes the class look like Seinfeld!!

-
Dec 19, 2010The first and second season demonstrates how even a geeky, nerdy, and sex-desperate bunch of guys can be hella fun. The Big Bang Theory shows more promise than any other sitcoms out there right now. The show gave Jim Parsons a chance to show off his unlikable but likable at the same time, face. What a great show!
-
MelSJan 11, 2010I get the jokes they just aren't even close to funny.
-
-
JohnG.Oct 10, 2007Great humor which points out the differences between the people in our society who take on higher pursuits and the rest of us. Very intelligent comedy.
-
-
JMSep 24, 2007While it has its moments, the fact is that this show is laughing at these nerds, not with them. A straight-forward, mindless sitcom from a guy that should be able to do better than this. Now we know why this pilot was shot down last year.

JeffS.Sep 24, 2007Admirable in its attempt to try using a different kind of lead sitcom character than the usual 'Friend'. Too bad it fails at any attempt in being funny.
-
-
JustinMApr 10, 2010Intelligent, science jokes are a welcome break from the typical mindless plebeian jokes seen on virtually every other sitcom now and in the past, beside perhaps Frasier - in fact, thinking on it, The Big Bang Theory is a less pretentious Frasier for the science inclined.
-
-
Nov 25, 2010The least funny show on TV. Surpasses Two and a Half Men, which I believe is created by the same people, by a mile in terms of unfunniness. My parents... Oh Lawdy, how can they think this is funny at all?

Jan 22, 2012This show shows the appetite of the masses is for junk food.Just a lame show with canned laughter which makes it even worse. Bring back Archie Bunker or the Honeymooners.. They were funny..
-
May 8, 2012The first series gets off to a shaky start, but as the series gets deeper into the lives of the characters, you get to know them a lot more which helps with the humour in the sitcom.
-
May 30, 2014Bazinga!
This show is hilarious and the cast really make a HUGE difference. Everyone loves Sheldon and his classic pranks, plus Penny(Kaley Cuoco) is hot.
The Big Bang Theory is intellectual, as well as funny. -
ConnorMar 23, 2010Terrible show! i get that they are nerds buy there not smart or funny this show should be banished from history.

Apr 21, 2012Love This Show. The first season is a lot better than other shows. You have to watch.... You'll be addicted. I adore Sheldon... And of course his relationship with Penny. It just gets better
-
JasonW.Sep 30, 2007Shows like this are responsible for re-enforcing the negative stereotypes that go along with bullying Shows like this are responsible for all the picking on and teasing that goes on in HS..MS..so on. The writers should be ashamed of themselves and I hope that they one day have a son or daughter that gets picked on in school for the very same jokes they write.

Dec 3, 2010When compared to such sitcoms as 'Friends', this refreshing piece of work may not seem so emotionally gripping, however 'The Big Bang Theory' has enough originality, side-splitting jokes, and bravery in surprising the viewer in a humorous fashion.

It may not be a creative breakthrough, but it's lots funnier than the universal equation would predict.
-
Standard setup? Sure. Standard execution? For the most part.
-
The show might even have been engaging, if the one-liners came less frequently and the characters had a little more dimension. As it is, Sheldon and Leonard are merely laughable, if sweet, and they are even less fleshed out than the characters on "Two and a Half Men."
