    Loved the accuracy of the kitchen- the tiny details like the scissors and the deli cups. The acting is fantastic, the stress palpable and the emotions so raw you'll want a cigarette

    It's an impossible task to overstate just how good the story and the cast are in The Bear. Jeremy Allen White continues his rise to being one of the greatest actors of his generation, and the rest of the cast have little trouble keeping up. This is certainly a foodie's dream of a show and it tastes every bit as good as it looks.

    The Bear is a gritty comedy with some of the best acting I have seen this year. Back in the day, to see it again, I would have walked eight blocks mid-winter to rent it from Blockbuster. Amid the chaos, there are moments of true artistic beauty. After witnessing all of the dysfunction and yelling, the showrunners give the viewer a brief scene of serenity as you watch these chefs cook. EachThe Bear is a gritty comedy with some of the best acting I have seen this year. Back in the day, to see it again, I would have walked eight blocks mid-winter to rent it from Blockbuster. Amid the chaos, there are moments of true artistic beauty. After witnessing all of the dysfunction and yelling, the showrunners give the viewer a brief scene of serenity as you watch these chefs cook. Each character was so believable, and if you felt anger, frustration, or love for any of them, it was because this ensemble performed amazingly. A kitchen nightmare filled with the pain of loss and daily struggles, happening in a family kitchen in any home. A story about Hard-working people pushing through the hurt to come together as a family. I loved it.

    I'm not sure if it is, but I wouldn't mind if season one of The Bear was a one-and-done. It's like the first season of Dexter. Sure it could continue, but it stands alone just fine. If Jon Favreau's Chef and Denis Leary's Rescue Me had a baby, it would feel a lot like The Bear. There's family, death, loyalty, staying true to one's self...the kitchen scenes have a feel of someone who hasI'm not sure if it is, but I wouldn't mind if season one of The Bear was a one-and-done. There's family, death, loyalty, staying true to one's self...the kitchen scenes have a feel of someone who has actually worked in a kitchen. And there's more Chicago authenticity in a half hour of this, then all three of NBC's Fire, Med and Police combined (an episode even features the great Oliver Platt in a wonderful performance). I've never seen Shameless, so I was unprepared for the performance of the lead actor, but damn. The cast across the board is amazing. With shows like this, Reservation Dogs and the current The Old Man, FX reminds us what a quality network they truly are.… Expand

    The best way I can describe this show is by saying that Anthony Bourdain would most likely be a fan.
    If indeed a little over-the-top in its personal interactions and relationship drama, The Bear is a gorgeously shot frantic mess that deserves to be chugged while it's still hot. The performances are heartfelt and the pain and ecstasy of a foodie-passion-project feel honest.

    Wow this show was great! So authrntic, genuine and heartfelt. Funny too. And it's not woke, thank God! Some of the most realistic dialogue I've ever heard in a show. I hope it's a success, I want to see what happens next! Season 2 Hulu, renew now!

    Superb in every way—acting, script, direction, cinematography, music, the story itself. Episode 7 was my favorite, but every episode was a gem. Builds to a moving and fitting conclusion. Great work by all involved.

    Starts off a little shaky but the last 2 eps of the season are some of the best TV ive watched all year. Jeremy Alan White is phenomenal and is giving off Dustin Hoffman in his prime energy. I only wish we got some more Bernthal. Feels like a perfect one season show.

    One of 2022's best shows.
    Brilliantly written and cast, this show combines the stress of running a small business, the intensity of working in a kitchen and devastating family issues in such a manner that leaves you rooting for the underdog like very few shows have done before.
    A foodies delight, without the pretentious feel that a lot of kitchen based shows are sometimes riddled with.

    The Bear is half-hour gobbets of kinetic, pressurised, propulsive brilliance with occasional moments of stillness that make you see how much has been done in order to serve up something so delicious. This is a show that has been meticulously prepped, simmered, reduced, balanced and eventually plated up to perfection by the creator Christopher Storer and co-showrunner Joanna Calo. Dig in.

    The Bear gets the balance between atmosphere and story, sour and sweet, just right. At a time when big budget TV, with things such as House of the Dragon or The Rings of Power, has decided that more is more, The Bear is a real palate cleanser. It’s a masterpiece in reduction - and the sauce has bite.

    Infused with pain and empathy by White’s taut but tender performance. It is equally easy to root for his staff. ... Watching how the sausage gets made may not be pretty but in The Bear, it is impossible to look away.
