The "TekWar" special effects are good by TV standards, but Tuesday's scene-setting story won't engross the deeper sci-fi thinkers in the audience. "TekWar" is aimed at the action faction, and it delivers plenty of chases, shootouts and explosions. [24 Jan 1994]

A reasonably inventive slice of sci-fi. ... TekWar's strengths are above-average computerized special effects and touches of winning humor. It lasts at least 15 minutes longer than it should, but no major deal. [19 Jan 1994]

The gizmos and visual shimmer rarely disguise the fact this is just a gussied-up cop show. Confusing, to boot. [17 Jan 1994]

The cheeseball futurism here is just barely silly enough to qualify as watchable.

Someone more philosophical than Shatner might have ruminated on the nature of reality in the world where technology can make anything seem real. What we really have here is just another in the long line of TV private eyes, an attempt at film noir whose lurking campiness rather quickly becomes film mauve. ... This dialogue is ancient now; imagine how old it will be in 2042. [22 Jan 1994]

"TekWar" is a blur of techno images, whirring noises and idiotic sci-fi speak. [18 Jan 1994]

Intended to be hard-boiled, the dialogue in TekWar is instead just pitiful.
