I don't really want to say mediocre acting but that may be down to what the actors are being told to do. 8/10 episodes are classified 'filler' as they do not add to the storyline of the first episode, you see minimal character development at best. I sometimes feel like I'm watching a programme a 15 year old child constructed. For all those that gave the show 10/10, fair enough you love the show, but ask yourself - in the first two seasons when Dean almost died did you feel anything? Did you feel sad/worried? I didn't, and I should have. The show could do with getting better writers, but the rest of the material is there for it to be a cracking show. Expand

This show is watchable. That's about the best that can be said about it. It is, in a nutshell, the most male-centric series ever created. The main female characters are what is called, 'Tropes'. And here I was thinking women made up half the population of the world and actually had destiny's of their own - silly me! I have to agree with the professional reviewers here. It's highly likely the user reviews are made up solely of fans because this show does not deserve anything above a 5 out of 10 for it's obvious male-centric, white-centric, christian-centric plot; it's rip off of the 'Charmed' storyline and it's reliance on some hot actors to get by. The lore is trash, the acting is sub par at best, the writing is just plain bad most of the time, plot doesn't ever really go anywhere, anybody that is even a little bit interesting is killed off, oh and Sam and Dean are huge douche bags. They are two of the most unlikable characters I have ever seen in anything. Just one more "me-too" show to ride on the post-"the eye" mistery series. The biggest minus for this show I think is the leading actors. They are so emotionally flat that I could't tell if a big bad moster is about to crunch them or they are having the party of their life in a noisy club.

Yeah, I dropped this show after about three weeks of the same nonsense. Good idea for a show, and I must say the 'Bloody Mary' episode had me pretty freaked out, but the plots are getting repetitive, and like that one critic said, WB has too many pretty faces, and not enough good acting.

Supernatural isn't scary, it's just not good. It's boring, so not scary. It tries to be Buffy The Vampire Slayer, but unlike Buffy, this show has boring storylines, lame monsters and uninspired acting.

Started strong-I loved the first episode. Well written and imaginative and the acting sufficed. The following two episodes have been less than stellar. I'll give it 1 more week to pick it back up. Overall, not bad.

I admit I first turned on this show because of Jared's pretty face. But I kept watching because I'm a chick who's easily frightened. I was hooked straight through the first season. For other reasons, I died down in watching, and I'm actually not sure if it was partially because of the content of the show or not. Right, so the first season of supernatural is awfully dull. It takes awhile to really get going and overall is really dull. But hey, it gets the job done. Sets up the setting and takes us on the road as we follow the crazy antics of the Winchester brothers.

The first couple of seasons were unique but after that it got to a point where EVERY SEASON IS LITERALLY THE SAME. This is for you if: you like an entertaining show that might leave you with a buck load of feels. A show with humor, action and a lot of episodes.

This might not be for you if: you are looking for horror and ghost stories that'll actually scare you. Supernatural does have some "scary" moments but I don't feel it's a "core value".

Genre fans used to the emotional depth and extraordinary storytelling of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel" will find that this show is not even remotely in "Buffy's" or "Angel's" league.
  3. The creep factor runs high, and it had better in a series called "Supernatural." But the series also has its overly familiar and just-plain-silly moments.
