This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I am disappointed with this season and I will explain it with use of spoilers and facts from videos that you can go check out which the person in it explains in greater detail and has all the sources himself.

I will start with the first issue which was how the series has been handling gun control. In episode 21, when j'onn j'onzz, whom I shall from now on call jonn, said that guns are violent and that these DEO assault weapons shouldn't be used by the public even a retrofitted civilian version. First off a civilian retrofit shouldn't have military grade bullets that can shred through the armour of a shield like it did with guardians shield because that's illegal, but secondly if it is retrofitted for civilians and has gone through safety regulations then what is jonn babbling on about. Also assault weapons assume that they are fully automatic when legislation specifically states that all civilian firearms must be at most semi-automatic so the firearm dealer should have stated that the buyer either stole a military grade one or he retrofitted a civilian firearm to be fully-automatic. Jonn should have really been asking did he get it off the black market or why are you selling illegal fully automatic firearms and faking them as civilian you should be in prison, but of course this didn't happen because why would the writers do that, they are politically correct jacks that's why.

On to my second issue it actually started with season 1 but it really elevated with season 3 because they still think that aliens would be treated like a black man was 200 years ago. Also the idea that guardian shouldn't come out cause he's black is an illogical reason because that racism and discrimination so they would be in serious trouble anyways so he'd be fine. James Olsen the present boss of Cat Co. and therefore he should be getting racist threats or remarks from all his colleagues. And if not then racism shouldn't be a factor in coming out as guardian. Plus if this were the case then why isn't Supergirl getting any form of alienist remarks I mean all she gets are scared people who are afraid if she lost her temper as stated by jonn back in season 1. And it is always OK to be sceptical of aliens because back 200 or so years people were afraid of black people but time and trust brought us to accept them as people like all of us. It takes time for people to get used to aliens and to prove it the only people in the Supergirl universe who would disagree with that statement would be Supergirl and alien, Alex Danvers her sister since supergirl was like 12 or so, jonn who is also an alien, Winslow Schott Jr. who loved the idea because he is a scientist and a lover literally of Superman, James Olsen a guy who has known superman since soon after he started his career at The Daily Planet and has been friends with him and Supergirl ever since and the DEO who has worked to fight or help aliens for a very long time who by the way was led by jonn who impersonated Hank Henshaw their original leader who was presumed dead by jonn who later was Cyborg Superman. The only one who is not fond of aliens or anti-gun laws is Lena Luthor a genius and a woman who's brother was jailed by Superman which is fair but she can have her scepticism but you don't have to agree with her. She didn't have a good connection with aliens so instantly she became cautious of them all with DNA testers and all that which is fair because she is entitled to her opinion and she cannot be silenced by others because of it.

My final reason but only because of word limit or I could go on forever, is this man-hating philosophy and women-empowering feminist movement. This was mainly portrayed in season 1 with General Lane but it happened in season 3 with small things like never touch a woman when the security guard was only doing his job and Kara Danvers should be arrested for assault but you know, plot armour. Men are portrayed as evil and stupid people but if we were the WW2 would have been hell for us today but it's because men fought for everyone thank you great granddad. General Lane said its her fault for setting that robot on national city and when it created a tornado he blamed her for saving the people and not destroying be she supposedly had the chance... although in man of steel, superman fights so much harder than her and he could easily beat her so superman stop destroying your dignity from that fight with supergirl by saying I was at prime and you beat me. hah, if you were at your prime then why are most of the buildings in national city still 100% intact after the fight, supergirl fought like a wuss so be a man next time and PUNCH HER HARD. feminism has caused all the guys to become super apologetic or a super d*** so this is an issue that needs serious fixing or else the series will go down hill super fast.

I am out of words literally so my final message is check your facts and change please! but apart from that its great. Steven Crowder is my source.

I watched an episode of season 3 to see if it had gotten any better... and it's gotten worse!

Am I suppose to be sad what's his face left? I am glad because he was so awful. Is there anyone that felt anything for them as a couple? That the writers of this show can't write love seems part of their general world view.

The only thing I like about the show is Lena, but they've almost ruined the tension that made that interesting.

I have watched every episode of 3 seasons because I want this show to work, and I really want the Arrowverse to work. I love comics and the movies they inspire. But this show has driven me away. Entertain your audience; don’t tell them how to think. The show is full of plot holes, characters that don’t act in logical manners, and way too many unexplained coincidences that allow the protagonists to succeed. Most of the speeches that are meant to feel inspirational get too political and don’t really fit the situation the character is supposedly addressing. Too much time is spent on relationships that never have a resolution. They are trying to perpetuate the romantic drama ad infinitum, thus making every relationship feel fake and cheap. There are way too many aliens who can beat down supergirl; there’s not much super about her. I am tired of the shallow and often self-contradictory morality the characters display. The acting is average. The fight choreography is a joke. And cape-fighting techniques? Haha, really? Every time an interesting topic or well done moment of acting pulls me in to the storyline, one of these problems arises and takes me back out again. Total score: 0. But +1 for DC having awesome source material. I just wish it was used better. Expand

When will TV learn to keep politics's out of our programs. I want to escape reality for a short time and enjoy not dealing with the real world. I have to agree with eagleeyeviking. The writers love for political mongering and heavy handed liberal propaganda overshadow all plot and character's. Episode 1 was a complete let down. The sad thing is it could have been a great episode.

The show is a reasonable version of the DC characters, but is uneven in writing and direction. It tries to be campy and cute, then slides over to overdone drama, then fails miserably at social commentary. The worst is the lesbian romance. This show frankly does not handle heterosexual relationships well either (as demonstrated when Kara gets totally turned inside out when Monel leaves then shows up again). The show lost its best comic relief when they wrote out Cat Grant. Her line about real life hubby, Harrison Ford, was gold! Now this show just takes itself too seriously. The Winn character cannot handle the needed comic relief on his own.

The season long story arc is hurting most CW super hero shows and this one is no exception. The Reign plot is plodding along at a snails pace. Boring! Comics are supposed to tie up their plots in an issue or two. Move the plot along, already!

Stick to super powers and punching out bad people. Find some better comic relief. Leave the romantic plot lines to the soaps.

I want to like this show, but I just can't. Supergirl is the weakest out of all the DCU tv shows, and considering I don't find any of them 'really' good , that's really not that great.

Half of the show isn't even about Supergirl, but focuses on the gay relationship of her adopted sister. I don't find it a problem that homosexuality is brought into this show, it's just that it's not

Half of the show isn't even about Supergirl, but focuses on the gay relationship of her adopted sister. I don't find it a problem that homosexuality is brought into this show, it's just that it's not really interesting. Much like Supergirl's relationship with Mon-El the season before and the aftermath of him leaving at the beginning of this season. It's drama for drama's sake, and badly done to the point it's cringe worthy.

I am actually missing Cat Grant's character. Because even with her uber liberal traits the writers have given her to be used as their propaganda machine (and I consider myself a liberal, but there's something like being over the top) she was more interesting to watch than any of the characters still around this season.

I think the biggest problem of the show, is that the writers are failing at making the viewer actually give a damn about any of these characters. I don't care about her sister, I don't care about the woman with her kid, making Jim(my) Olsen the Guardian was a dumb storyline by itself but it pretty much went nowhere and he's just there to smile right now being the boss of Catco (another strange decision) Mon-El left the planet and I just went 'meh'.

This is also not helped because the storylines by themselves aren't making you want to watch by giving Supergirl forgettable enemies. But if they make you care about the characters, you can deal with the bad stories. Neither is the case here though.

Instead of concentrating on battling evil villains, the show is concentrating more on the relationship between Supergirl's adopted gay sister and her girlfriend. Homosexual relations between consenting adults is one thing for an adult-based audience; but there are younger viewers to the show and should they be subjected to this lifestyle at their age?

This season was by far the worst. How can ostensibly intelligent people create such a bad show? Does Kara have to think and pout about life's misfortunes every single minute? And who is this dope Rein that goes from a loving mother to a POS?

While the first and second season was content to say in it's own world, Season 3 actually had the guts to tackle more real world issues then I've seen a show like this approach. Though that has been happening a lot lately. Season 3 is bold, interesting and faster paced then the show has ever been.

Supergirl continues to be the best superhero offering on television. The effects far exceed any other superhero show and the acting is superb. You will believe a girl can fly.

While "Supergirl" remains entertaining as ever, the writing is inconsistent as it delivers a poor payoff to the overarching conflict despite some strong individual episodes.

Season 3 was probably the most boring and forgettable season in the show. I actually had to look up on Wikipedia what episodes belonged to it, and it has only been a month since I watched it. I decided to skip all the talking and only seeing the actual action scenes (which is, in case you're Warner Bros, basically what we actually watch superhero shows for), and ended up finishing each episode in hardly 5 minutes. There was something about a Kryptonian woman who decided to go evil because the voices inside her head compelled her to do so. Also Mon-El came back so everything that happened in the climax of the previous season goes down the drain. Although this wasn't a straight-up dumpster fire, provided Brainiac finally comes in it, Mon-El gets his comic costume and the action scene is still meaningful. There was also the Crisis on Earth-X, which is really annoying because it's the very reason why I have to watch it in the first place; otherwise I will not be able to understand Arrow and The Flash. The show’s decision to quietly set the stage for season 3 while it ties up loose ends is a smart one. Much of the episode feels mired in the past--and some critics may lament Kara’s post-breakup funk, rightfully so--but hopefully, once the season’s story really kicks into high gear, Supergirl will be flying higher than ever before.
