Stitchers is cute and so slight in dramatic gravitas that it floats away into the ether.

Harris is saddled with quite a bit of exposition, but his most significant hurdle is the series’ uneven tone. Stitchers oscillates between embracing the premise’s inherent campiness or eschewing it in favor of a more intense quasi-realism.

Even though its premiere suggest both campy sci-fi scenes and creepy murder mysteries, Stitchers is as lifeless as the corpses Kirsten explores. [29 May/5 Jun 2015, p.100]

The audience is expected somehow to understand the range of her abilities, but sorry; we need more clues. That, and a reason to care.

Kirsten’s way of solving crimes may be complex, but the crimes themselves seem straight out of the CSI franchise.

It's all completely ridiculous and derivative, which Schechter is quick to acknowledge. Indeed, the second-best thing about "Stitchers" is its game if not quite successful attempt to straddle sci-fi and sci-fi satire.... The first-best thing about the show is its cast, who all show promise far beyond the limits of their roles here.

There are a few lighter moments here and there--including some played for laughs that seem like they'd play better if they were serious, including the first time Kirsten gets stitched--but mostly Stitchers is a ho-hum procedural with an unlikeably emotionless lead character with daddy issues and the promise of hanky-panky with a not-nerdy scientist

Stitchers is the kind of show that thinks that by having Kirsten make a sarcastically knowing reference to Catwoman, it’s immunized itself from charges of silly sex-objectivism; it hasn’t. I don’t see sci-fi fans putting Stitchers on their radar, or fans of Pretty Little Liars sticking around very long after the PLL premiere.

After the first two episodes, the series looks less like a part of that collection, and more like a factory-made knockoff stitched together from pieces of other shows.

So far the network has been hit or miss in terms of quality with its new shows, and this leans more toward a miss. There is the kernel of a good idea here, and the show could develop with time, but the execution was lacking in the pilot. It felt like the show wanted to showcase its technology and effects (which weren't great) at the expense of developing characters to care about. When you have a lead that has a condition that prevents them from expressing emotion, you need a better hook into the world than the one offered in this pilot. Full Review »

She was a homerun in the casting as far as I can tell from just the first few episodes. I didn't enjoy the concept overlap with the iZombie show. Feels stolen one way or the other. I like the warehouse 13 ginger - she is fun and while stuck in the early career (always acting the same) rut but I can always watch her for days. Seeing her makes me want to watch warehouse 13 reruns (why did they kill that show again?). The cop guy was an OK choice. The boss lady from Eureka was a total "casting **** the bed" scenario. Same for Cameron and the Kumar kid oh please! Casting must have run out of time or money or brains or all of the above. Good show good concept poor casting mediocre scripts so after Ishta and the Ginger Streisand girl it heads downhill but I will still watch the whole first season before deciding to buy the soap. Any chance they will script Eureka out of the show? I'm ever hopeful! Full Review »

Bio-tech that allows us to see others memories after death. The Blondie is really good, I like how her character is emotionless and blunt, reminds me of someone. Also the NSA women in charge of the scientific group was in Stargate SG1 for years, so I like her as well. At the end of the day it did exactly what it should have... left me wanting more. Can't wait till tonight. Full Review »
