-
Television dramas rarely get therapy right, and State of Mind only adds to that reputation.
-
State of Mind is the weaker (and the more strenuous and sour) of the two [new shows on Lifetime], and all the more disappointing for the presence of the reliably interesting Taylor.
-
Smart-ass, angry girls’ solidarity characterizes State of Mind.
-
State of Mind seems a typical Lifetime series, with a good woman suffering because of a thoughtless man. Yet Taylor gives the show a distinctive kick by tartly conveying confusion and fury.
-
Taylor gives a forceful performance as a wronged wife who lapses into hallucinations during therapy sessions, but a bitter tone pervades most of the rest of the show.
-
Taylor, being one of Hollywood's underutilized great actresses, makes State of Mind interesting just by appearing in it. Taylor's supporting cast is quite good, too.
