    The TV version preserves the form and excited tone of the podcast, with better production values and a bigger stage.

    The show’s staging in the Hall of the Universe at New York’s American Museum of Natural History in front of an audience is a little low-concept, but the enthusiasm of Mr. Liu and Ms. Lord in Monday’s premiere keeps Star Talk from getting too dry.

    You know, I really like Neil DeGrasse Tyson. It's really appealing when someone -- anyone -- LOVES what they do for a living and he seems toYou know, I really like Neil DeGrasse Tyson. It's really appealing when someone -- anyone -- LOVES what they do for a living and he seems to do so in spades! He also has an ability to explain things so that anyone can understand the concept.     I think it's a wonderful way to get "average" people to get interested in science. Most people will not tune in to a science based show asI think it's a wonderful way to get "average" people to get interested in science. Most people will not tune in to a science based show as many consider it too boring. Tyson has a clever way of getting information to people without it seeming like a documentary. Well done.
