Oct 8, 2022I watch shows to escape reality for a bit, not to be lectured by woke Hollywood elitists basking in their self righteous moral superiority. This is just more woke garbage being thrown in your face, in a time where this wokeness is regurgitated on you 24/7. People are tired of it. I miss the OG Picard. This show was a complete letdown.

Jan 26, 2023Just really disappointing. With the entire future universe to explore they decide to go back in time to Los Angeles, in the present day. How self-centered do you have to be as a TV show writer to say "well these viewers are interested in a Sci-Fi show but I think they will prefer to see what my day-to-day is like!"

Apr 6, 2022This show is such trash, the dialog hurts. Alex Kurtzman continues to ruin the franchise and embarrass everyone involved. Depressing.

May 31, 2022It's dumb. Things don't respect simple logic. The plot is simply too dumb. Character talk and act not like you would expect. There is so much messed up stuff. The story development is childish.
It's just bad writing... -
Apr 28, 2022It started out quite promising but much like the first season, it's devolved into absolute trash.
This is the last time. They draw me in with promises and then take gradually change the ratio from mostly good to mostly garbage. Sickening. -
Mar 4, 2022I really liked the first season of Picard a lot. This first episode of the seond season was a mess, from the "oh your partner/other actor on this show isn't here because he died/wasn't invited back, let's justify it by saying romulans get over one death by immediately getting under someone else" lmfao and it only got worse from there. oh my gosh so cringe, the whole thing.

Mar 28, 2022Initially I was cautiously hopeful about the premise of season two. After four episodes I can say that this is the most uninspired, derivative, lifeless, boring spin NuTrek has done yet. The first season had my attention because I hadn't seen Picard in years, now I want him to go away forever. There is nothing redeeming about this trash. Nostalgia plus terrible writing and paper thin characters.

Mar 25, 2022Season 1 was great but season 2 takes it to a new level. Stargazer is an incredible episode and this new season is beautifully written and produced.

May 5, 2022I absolutely hated Picard . Horrible plotting , Way to much of it was shot in studio. Zero real stakes . This is a textbook example at how studios misstep with iconic characters and actors and destroy legacy. Let’s how Strange New Worlds is as good as it looks .

May 3, 2022Love the character .. loved TNG .. and I really liked Season 1. But this is an absolute disaster — boring, cheesy, poorly acted and horribly written. Every episode I hope it will get better and it actually gets worse.

adjective, worse, worst;(Slang) bad·der, bad·dest for 36.
not good in any manner or degree. -
Apr 29, 2022Maman!!!! Why is this childhood story so boring and annoying? Is it only there to reduce production cost?
-
Apr 19, 2022The Klingons are no longer the enemies, now they are the straight white males. By all means the showrunners of the Star Trek series will castrate them.
-
Mar 30, 2022I love love love TNG (and anything with Patrick Stewart) but as of episode 4 this is almost unwatchable. The story is boring and derivative, and the writing not much better. Why did the writers think we would care about any of this?

Aug 11, 2023There is just far to much silliness in this season. The whole season is inspired by Picard's hidden issues with his mother, hardly the stuff of good science fiction or good Star Trek, or even even good TV for that matter, These producers need to focus on what Star Trek was and not make it a sop for current social media users - mental issues and female liberation.

While seeing Stewart at the helm is in some respects reward enough, the producers rely a bit too heavily on that goodwill with a season that, three hours in, feels as if it's barely gotten out of drydock.
-
So far season two feels more promising now that character introductions are largely out of the way and the whole team shares a goal.

Nobody would mistake Picard for Star Trek in its prime. But it has captured some of that hard to define, easy to recognise Trek essence. And if not exactly at warp speed – there are still a few too many Stewart soliloquies – it has undoubtedly located its missing sense of derring-do and is hurtling satisfyingly towards interstellar overdrive.
