Summary: In the American West, a convoy of trucks is crossing the desert. A group of motorcycles scream down the mountainside and attack the convoy.

Meanwhile, Speed wins the Southwest Grand Prix. One of Speed's fans is admiring the Mach Five when Speed walks into the garage. He says that he wanted to be a professional racer himself but didn'tIn the American West, a convoy of trucks is crossing the desert. A group of motorcycles scream down the mountainside and attack the convoy.

Meanwhile, Speed wins the Southwest Grand Prix. One of Speed's fans is admiring the Mach Five when Speed walks into the garage. He says that he wanted to be a professional racer himself but didn't make it. He doesn't give his name.

That evening, Speed and the gang are dining with Mr. Skyhigh from the Office of Space Development. Later, in a ghost town Skyhigh is trying to enlist Speed's help to protect the construction of an international space development base. The crews and equipment are being attacked by motorcycle Apaches. The Mach Five is needed to transport a shipment of uraniumtane, an element that will give nuclear missiles an explosive power greater than an H-bomb.

Sparky, Trixie, Spritle and Chim Chim show up ready to help Speed. After Spritle is told he can't go along with Speed, he decides to play cowboys in the ghost town. Spritle encounters one of the motorcycle Apaches who was spying and manages to capture him. The Apache refuses to talk. Spritle's heroics win him and Chim Chim a place on the mission driving the chuck wagon.

As the trip wears on, Spritle dreams of being a hero lawman in the old West. But an attack by the motorcycle Apaches disturbs his dream. The Apaches find only cans of food in the back and plan on stealing them, but Spritle's bawling makes them change their plans.

As the convoy approaches Tabletop Mesa on the old Hammer and Chisel Trail, their location is radioed back to the Apaches' headquarters. Geronimo, the leader, orders a rendezvous at Bad Valley.

The attack is underway and the trucks circle the Mach Five to protect it, but Speed soon finds himself on his own. Geronimo goes after Speed. The two meet. Geronimo and his motorcycle Apaches are only protecting their land from intruders. Realizing they are at an impasse, Speed and Geronimo return to fighting. Both the Mach Five and Geronimo's motorcycle crash. Geronimo's mask falls off, revealing that he is the fan that had met Speed at the track. As the son of a chief, he couldn't continue a racing career.

There was only a box of rocks in the Mach Five. The uraniumtane was actually in the cans in the back of Spritle's chuck wagon. Spritle and Chim Chim faint when they learn the truth.… Expand
