Started off strong and then completely petered out. Which really is a shame because the first couple episodes hooked me hard, but the lack of information, lack of character development, and a bland plot are just slaying me. Maybe I'm making a mistake not finishing the series but I can't take anymore of this silly melodrama.

Disappointed, another series that will probably get a second or third season before the producers realize it has no substance in the story. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Is this supposed to be a Matrix sequel? This looks like Zion to me and in episode two, it looks like one of the drilling machines that attacked it in the third movie. First episode was pretty good and Rashida Jones was great. Second episode got boring quick and Rebecca Ferguson cannot act. I'll never understand why she keeps getting good roles. I mean, outside her **** there's not much else there. I mean, all she seems to do to keep the generator running is sweat over a big-ass wrench. WTF is that **** Expand

Two episodes in, there's been no effort to flesh-out any of the characters introduced. This lack of characterization has seriously undercut the emotional impact of certain events. Another weakness I find, the character behaviors seem irrational, silly, or just unrealistic. On the positive side, the production is excellent and the show does have Rebecca Ferguson. Powerfully distinctive dialogue, meaningful themes, and engrossing — but never showy — visuals make Silo’s first episode one of the most gripping premieres of the TV streaming era.

A viewing of the first two episodes of "Silo" shows that it exemplifies the best of what the genre can be.

While Silo does occasionally have the (not unwelcome) gait and tone of an old Saturday syndicated show (Deep Space Nine comes to mind), Ferguson—in all her stern command—lends the series a necessary heft.
