Sharknado 4 is at the least, bad. its nowhere near perfect but yet it doesn't have to be, its wilder and more wacky then just about any movie youll ever see but if you dont like comedies do not watch it

So obviously at this point you are either on board with Sharknado or not. The series is still reveling in it's own absurdity. The 4th Awakens is without a doubt the biggest, silliest, and dumbest Sharknado yet. The 4th Awakens is without a doubt the biggest, silliest, and dumbest Sharknado yet. The shear amount of D-list cameos, cheesy one-liners, ridiculous shark kills, and pop culture references the movie throws at you is insane. Simply put, this is more of what Sharknado fans love.

The movie's desire to go even more over the top has lead to inclusion of sci-fi elements. Futuristic technology and robot people join the fray. As to be expected the special effects are low-budget bad. Something that at this point is very likely intentional to sell that B-movie feel. The only problem with that is the movie's opening relies so much on them and combined with the choppy direction it's hard to really grasp what's going on until it's smack in front of your face.

One thing that's kind of disappointing is that, while still present, the sharks take somewhat of a smaller role to the tornado itself. A reoccurring gag throughout the movie is seeing just how many elements the tornado can take up. It's like the writers got together and wanted to see how many words they could throw in front of nado for a laugh. Given the minds behind this, that's might actually have been what happened.

It's simply more Sharknado. It's intentionally stupid, cheesy, and outright bad. That series' full-fledged embracing of this makes things a lot of fun though. It's the kind of movie that wants to you to both laugh with it and at it. Something it's self-aware nature makes very easy to do.

The 4th Awakens is all over the place, both geographically and in its confused, unfocused storytelling.

What remains is the dullest and most loathsome kind of movie out there, the kind that uses its overtly sarcastic tone to shield from any criticism.

The fourth one isn't as much silly fun of the first two, but it's a few bites better than last summer's dismal "Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!"
