Bigger and dumber than it's predecessor, but arguably better. With a larger budget, tons of great cameos from D-list actors, and a lot of super cheesy memorable moments, it's definitely crazier than the first. Aside from a much slower start it's about on the same quality as the first. There's a larger focus on goofy humor and over the top action, which definitely proves they were trying to one up the first Sharknado in the absurdity department. Truth be told it's another one that has to be seen in order to be believed. If you liked the first Sharknado you'll like this one for the same reasons. Same goes for those that hated the first. I give it a 6.8/10. Expand

Sharknado 2, like its predecessor is a bad movie that is meant to be bad. Its sole purpose is to be mocked. Within the first five minutes, there's already a ridiculous mid-flight action sequence that tops most of the first movie. Following right after that this movie is crammed with celebrity cameos who star factor faded long ago, including lazy acting, in-your-face product placement,Sharknado 2, like its predecessor is a bad movie that is meant to be bad. For Sharknado 2: The Second One, you obviously cannot properly criticize this movie, because it is so bad. On rate of 1 to 10, how much did you enjoy it? That is the rating system for such movies.

Sharknado 2: The Second One is that kind of movie, veering more into "spoof" territory than the first one, which isn't to say that "Sharknado" was meant as high drama, but it wasn't calling attention to its absurdity in quite the same way as the sequel.

Like a lot of junk food, Sharknado might taste good while you’re eating it--but even with Cheetos you have to know when to take your hand out of the bowl.

Set now in New York, instead of Los Angeles, it is just more of the insane same--insaner, if anything--in a slightly nicer suit. As with John Heard, the ringer in the first installment, the picture manages to bring everyone in it down to its level. Or close enough.
