    Witty, dry Brit comedy gives excellent rewards to those that find it. Excellent acting by Gillian Anderson and a number of lesser known actors. Unlike some brit comedies this has been well funded and is nicely edgy.
    I can say that I found it (as an Adult) very good - notwithstanding the 1 other rather indifferent review found here at the time I am posting (by truerock).     At first the tone of this confused me – set in a kind of Americanised version of a UK "high school", with hallways full of lockers, homecoming balls, theatre-style assemblies, jocks and geeks, and all the things I recognise from US media and never saw in any actual British schools. The Welsh landscape even makes it look like it was *filmed* in America at times. But the language and theAt first the tone of this confused me – set in a kind of Americanised version of a UK "high school", with hallways full of lockers, homecoming balls, theatre-style assemblies, jocks and geeks, and all the things I recognise from US media and never saw in any actual British schools. The Welsh landscape even makes it look like it was *filmed* in America at times. But the language and the attitudes are very British, and completely won me over – in the end it comes across as a kind of British homage to a John Hughes aesthetic, but with a sex-positive and down-to-earth European dynamic that is surprisingly refreshing. It's impossible to imagine a comparable American show doing some of the things in Sex Education – like the fantastic third episode, which focuses undramatically on a teenage girl's abortion and finds humour, emotion, and unexpected togetherness in the entire process. The nudity is also admirably unvoyeuristic, with titillation offset by being played (often brilliantly) for comic effect. Everyone seems like they are having a lot of fun, and for once there are actually several people in the ensemble cast that I am interested in. I could watch this kind of thing all day long.… Expand

    Sex Education is a coming of age story about 16-year-olds, their life in high school and at home, and, most importantly about their sexual developments. The main storyline unfolds around a boy named Otis. His mom is a sexual therapist, which makes sex and everything connected with it even harder for him    “Everybody is either thinking about shagging, about to shag, or actually shagging”.

    Sex Education is a coming of age story about 16-year-olds, their life in high school and at home, and, most importantly about their sexual developments. The main storyline unfolds around a boy named Otis. His mom is a sexual therapist, which makes sex and everything connected with it even harder for him to talk about. Ironically, Otis, who has very little experience and feels tremendously awkward when it comes to sex and relationship, is surprisingly good at giving advice on those subjects to others. Therefore, this edgy cool girl Maeve, who is, as most would say, way out of Otis’ league recognizes his “talent” and encourages him to start a sex clinic inside school. And so, with that the story starts and we see several complex characters, who each have their own problems not only with sex, but also at school and with parents, developing throughout the show.
    I believe that this series is very important to be seen. It opens a subject about sexual developments of teenagers that should not be ignored. It also shows how everybody has their issues and nobody is perfect, and that there is an explanation to everything. I feel like any teenager can find a character whom they relate to in the series. I love the fact that the show brings up the issue of bullying. Even though there’s no excuse for it, we can still see the fact that everything happens for a reason, that everything has a start somewhere and that if we as a community help to find that start, we can also help one to get rid of their issues, feel full as a person and happy with who they are.     4 Episodes in and this show has me hooked. The characters and their stories are 100% relatable and a lot of the scenarios have probably happened to most of us at one point or another. A coming of age drama/comedy that is both enduring and educational, with the added bonus of the ever fabulous Gillian Anderson…I would highly recommend this show.

    I have watched a lot of tv and movies in my life and I honestly think that this the best and most relatable coming of age show that I've ever seen.

    The show has plenty of snarky wit sprinkled all over each episode. Even at its lamest, cliche moments, this quirky show remains quaintly entertaining. The morality lessons are mostly skin deep and copy/paste though. Some even backfire if you think about it. Ex: man says he's inspired by a brave boy owning/showing his fabulous true self. So the man also shows his own true self by...The show has plenty of snarky wit sprinkled all over each episode. Even at its lamest, cliche moments, this quirky show remains quaintly entertaining. The morality lessons are mostly skin deep and copy/paste though. Some even backfire if you think about it. Ex: man says he's inspired by a brave boy owning/showing his fabulous true self. So the man also shows his own true self by... losing his temper and yelling? So what is the writer implying about this african immigrant's true self contrary to his normally tempered, wise, calm, gentleman demeanor?… Expand

    Everything you want to know about sex but afraid to sex, courtesy of exoerts. Homosexuality, masturbation and loss of virginity with the accurate touches of british humor. ¿Shall we wait for second season?

    Well, i'm really surprised about this. I expected it to be the classic American Pie like teen comedy, but no, it isn't. It's easily one if the best series (if not the best) that i watched in a while, i think i could even watch it again, and i never do this with any TV series. This show has really everything, it makes you laugh, but at the same time it makes you cry and reflect about loveWell, i'm really surprised about this. I reccomend it fo all the teenagers, you will surely like it, but i think this is suitable even for adult people.… Expand

    Almost perfect in its class (plot, humor, rate, characters). In almost every aspect is original and nothing like we could expect. There are some cliches but they dont have any special affect on a whole reception.

    A story about a boy who's never had sex, but gives sex therapy to his fellow high school students? A wild concept, but it's executed very, very well. Sure, a lot of the tropes that are explored in the first season are common in teen romance/drama shows, but the addition of sex therapy adds enough of something different to separate it from your typical teen show. A highly enjoyable eight episodes.

    Sex Education can often be tonally inconsistent, and I have no idea when or where it is supposed to be set, but the cast of characters did grow on me throughout this first season and it’s pretty funny in places as well.     Was hesitant to start this series, just looked like another netflix MA rated nudefest without much more. I could not have been more wrong. It is simultaneously outlandish and so real, not to mention hilarious. 6 episodes later I do declare this is in my top 10 tv shows of all time. Definitely top 3 for coming of age genre.

    The only thought in our head when we start to watch the first episode "what's a shame". It's so revealing tv show and may have bad influence on teens. However, this tv show up true aspects of teens' life. The plot is not very tricky, but unusual in some way. Sometimes you want to laugh, sometimes to cry as this is face of teens' life.

    Sex Education is a great teenage dramedy, that takes itself seriously when it needs to and outlandish when it's warranted. Gillian Anderson is one of the highlights of the series, along with the main character portrayed by, Asa Butterfield. It really grasps the awkwardness of teenage angst, puberty, and strife. Well written and well directed, would highly recommend.

    I wasn't expecting much when I went into this, but the show surprised me positively. The character were funny and lovable and the soundtrack was absolutely amazing.

    Я в восторге от сериала, ни за что бы не подумал, что мне интересно будет смотреть про проблемы старшей школы, но этот сериал затянул конкретно. Очень хорошо сыграно, актеры подобраны, персонажи прописаны. Нестыковки если и есть, то их очень мало.     Very fun show. It has many great, different and unique characters that deal with their sexuality problems in a very special way.

    Sex Education has awareness at its core. But thinking about sexuality, talking about these themes, does not necessarily mean the experience, the protagonist exemplifies this very well, being a virgin. It's not about encouraging, and whoever finds it is living in the moon world and that's it. The point is that young people are, whether we like it or not, having sex, without using condoms,Sex Education has awareness at its core. Even the approach to abortion, so private and candid given the script, has to do with the question of our moralism as opposed to reality and what we need to do about it, not against it. Communication needs to happen, because while taboo is taboo, no one will learn anything. And, let's face it, it's pretty ridiculous for a virgin boy to educate his peers about sexuality.… Expand

    This is an important TV Show, it could help a lot of children/teenagers who are passing by puberty and are scared about have the first kiss, or touching/knowing yourself. Sex education is fun, with the right tone to give an important message.

    The series is very valuable for society, I think. Especially for societies in countries where such topics are highly taboo.

    Ultimately, this is a show with an unexpectedly wide appeal. Twenty-first-century teenagers are going to find real comfort and companionship in these characters, while those of us old enough to have seen those John Hughes movies at the cinema will wish Sex Education had been there for us.

    Iimmaculately, densely written, glorious creation. ... And it’s funny. Endlessly and seemingly effortlessly funny, in a naturalistic way that doesn’t have you listening for the hooves of the next gag thundering down a well-worn track but, like Catastrophe, catches you almost unawares and makes you bark with laughter.
