"Sex Education" is charming, the cast has great chemistry with one another and overall a very enjoyable ride. However, it falls flat when it is trying to tackle more serious themes of cyberbullying, homosexuality, racism, ad abortion. The characters lack motivation and momentum. Due to this, the "powerful" character moments that are scattered throughout the show feels empty.
    Overall, I

Overall, I enjoyed it. However, it lacked a serious narrative, an overarching theme, and strong characters. Quite forgettable.

Disappointed given all the high praise. It's by no means a bad show, but as far as UK comedies go it falls far short of excellent recent offerings like End of the F***ing World and Catastrophe. Watchable but in an age where there's literally too much great programming to keep up with this it just doesn't make the cut. Expand

Sex Education raises valid points and some important knowledge to young and old viewers alike, but fails at being a dramedy for hardly ever delivering a worthwhile joke and more often than not just making me wonder when the cringe comedy will be replaced for sex comedy. The drama is still pretty good, even if the whole last act of this season felt like it was written as a fanfic of itself.

I admittedly just watched the pilot and would leave a review there, but S1 episodes aren't available for review. This is such a well written show with sympathetic characters and very strong acting. But after watching the pilot, I thought to myself...do I really want to watch an entire show about kids and their sex problems? Not really. It feels like low stakes television because in the endI admittedly just watched the pilot and would leave a review there, but S1 episodes aren't available for review. Eager to please but confused, Sex Education could do with a stint on the therapist’s couch itself.

Ultimately, this is a show with an unexpectedly wide appeal. Twenty-first-century teenagers are going to find real comfort and companionship in these characters, while those of us old enough to have seen those John Hughes movies at the cinema will wish Sex Education had been there for us.

Iimmaculately, densely written, glorious creation. ... And it’s funny. Endlessly and seemingly effortlessly funny, in a naturalistic way that doesn’t have you listening for the hooves of the next gag thundering down a well-worn track but, like Catastrophe, catches you almost unawares and makes you bark with laughter.
