Daniel Levy has a confident comedic voice and a knack for biting dialogue, which can only mature along with the series, especially as we get to know the town and the character more. There is room for improvement--luckily, there will be a second season to work on that. Read full review

I can’t say that there are many funny jokes in Schitt’s Creek, but the show is never less than watchable, thanks in particular to Levy Sr. (playing, more or less, the show’s straight-man) and O’Hara (superb as a former soap-star villain and a real-life diva). Read full review

Around the fourth or fifth episode of Schitt’s Creek, the family’s behavior starts to become a smidge less predictable: David decides to sell his pricey wardrobe; Alexis finds herself attracted to a bearded environmentalist; Johnny and Moira display genuine affection for each other. I created an account on this site just so I could write this review! This show is fantastic! Maybe because I'm from a small Canadian town of 8,000 and have now lived for 30 years in a 'Big City', but I just find it hysterical and easy to relate too. Schitt's Creek is the most hilarious show I have ever seen and my favorite new show of 2015, my favorite comedy show of all time, and my favorite show of all time. The writing is phenomenal, it is hilarious. The characters are so we'll written, they are outstanding. The writing is phenomenal, it is hilarious. The characters are so we'll written, they are outstanding. Catherine O'Hara, Dan Levy, Emily Hampshire, Eugene Levy, Chris Elliott, Annie Murphy, and Jennifer Robertson give remarkable performances, they are hilarious and have outstanding chemistry, they just play off of each other perfectly. The costumes are spectacular especially the ones wore by Catherine O'Hara, Dan Levy, Annie Murphy, Eugene Levy, and Jennifer Robertson. The makuep and hairstyling was stupendous especially on Catherine O'Hara, Chris Elliott, Jennifer Robertson, Tim Rozon, Emily Hampshire, Sarah Levy, Dan Levy, Annie Murphy, and Eugene Levy. The sets and scenery are fantastic, I love the small town/rural forest setting. The music is excellent, I love it. This is an A+ first season.… Expand

Thoroughly enjoyed this new comedy the players are well-suited very unique concept. The story line and characters portrayed lends itself to many comedic situations. Putting Christopher Mash as mayor was ingenious! Best of luck on future seasons.

Eugene Levy is the kinda guy (I'm speaking from an actor's/industry perspective/kind of speech) who is like someone who a friend of yours like worships. And then you see him in this show, although you've seen his brilliance in Christopher Guest's troupe, and now you are worshipping him b/cEugene Levy is the kinda guy (I'm speaking from an actor's/industry perspective/kind of speech) who is like someone who a friend of yours like worships. And, like a gift from the gods, or God - for he is Eugene's progeny - you also get brilliant David Levy. Of course the whole cast is brilliant ... in an Arrested Development way ... And you can't be blind to the similarities ... But Chris Elliot is like the ost beautiful Italian Renaissance artesian fountain that has erupted out of nowhere with his performance ... I mean, where has he been? A very high score for this pocket of genius that will be unforgettable.… Expand

This first season is predictable and awkward. It seems like a slower version of Arrested Development with a third of the jokes. I hope this show gets better from here because it has potential.

This show is totally overrated. I don't understand why people think it's funny or entertaining. I much preferred Arrested Development so much more. They took the whole theme of Arrested Development too!
