Yes. Time. I had nothing but time. Endless time. At first, it was madness. Then enlightenment. Then madness again. But perhaps it was a gift. I could see the life of time. And as I watched the life of time in all its fleeting, terrible light, I wondered, had I lived? Was I just the object in another’s story? Was that all I ever was? Could I be more? Maybe not the greatest season start, but still very good. Hope Evil Morty finally appears again sometime soon.

    Much better the Season 4.

I'll adjust the score after I each episode, as there is plenty of time to move up or down

This premiere episode of season 5 has a great idea drawn to its natural conclusion that feels so very Rick and Morty and draws a lot of existential questions about the nature of time.

First two episodes are back on form, up to and in some ways better than the first two seasons. This season has delivered!!!

There is absolutely nothing out there that comes close to the originality of this show, and despite it's crazy developments, it still doesn't hold back the existential and sentimental punches. 10/10

The long-awaited new season came out. After season 4 I had some doubts about the content and continuity of the show but man.. S5E1 blew my mind. It's original, and starts out as good as the first seasons and probably even better than ever. It was gripping, it was original. Rick n Morty is back baby!

I kindda like this season, its better than the 4th season, IDK why is the hate tho to this season, its the same jokes and humor from the past seasons, oh maybe bc we live on a generation that gets offended with everything, and Episode 4 was too much for sensible people? Man f*ck this generation

Honestly, I don't get some of the hate here about perceived quality issues. I give the critics the benefit of the doubt since Season 4 was kind of hit-and-miss like the Star Trek Movies are for most.

I do think though that the spirit of R & M are still woven in deeply, with some great, quirky ideas like an "Interstellar" parallel universe where time moves differently (vastly so) that

I do think though that the spirit of R & M are still woven in deeply, with some great, quirky ideas like an "Interstellar" parallel universe where time moves differently (vastly so) that has some truly funny outcome for Rick and Morty when they explore and utilize it for their own purposes... for the stupid reason to age wine quickly - obviously the best use for a universe where time moves exponentially faster versus ours!

Leaving aside the underlying tones of environmentalism clearly provided by the more super woke "the planet is dying!" unproductives in their workforce, I can say this is a way more enjoyable season so far than four ever was.

Don't be a Jerry and just enjoy it.

Couldn't start better. The first episode is full of energy, original and grabs us from the first minute. I had some doubts regarding the continuity of the show after last season, but not anymore.

The only downside to the show is the wait. There is so much more context and it makes it for a much more informed watch

Rick and Morty doesn't quite have the consistency it once had, but it's still capable of being both shocking and very funny when it hits the mark.

While the first two episodes are good Rick & Morty (7, and 8 respectively), the next two are bad to worse. Luckily by episode five they seem to have corrected the ship.

Episode 3 is mostly low-brow environmentalism, and sex jokes without anything of the tech, dark humor, or intelligence. 5/10 Episode 4 was so bad that I stopped at around the 10 minute mark. This was anti-Rick &

Episode 3 is mostly low-brow environmentalism, and sex jokes without anything of the tech, dark humor, or intelligence. 5/10

Episode 4 was so bad that I stopped at around the 10 minute mark. This was anti-Rick & Morty. Previously, even with the filler episodes, I never considered even skipping a minute. 1/10

Episode 5 is the same joke repeated endlessly, and explained every.single.time. I missed this the first time due to being called away at least twice during that viewing, and after being challenged to re-watch realized my original review was far too generous. This was another 5/10 at best.

Episode 6 is right back to the good old Rick & Morty. 8/10

Episode 7 on the other hand is right back to the new Rick & Morty, with the same joke used over and over, and never land. I managed to get to 12 minutes and decided to watch episode 6 again. 2 / 10

Episode 8 is better again, which is really starting to get frustrating since the REAL Rick & Morty is still possible. 8/10

If the quality of the first episode of season five is at all indicative of what we’ll be seeing the rest of this season, it’s probably a good thing the show’s creators took the time to get it right. The opening salvo of the new season is spectacular: insane joke density, an ever-present silliness brushing up against bad taste, awkward social situations laid bare, and hilariously tearing classic sci-fi and genre conventions a new one.

The show knows how to upend its own expectations, but it’s just as satisfying to see it harness some of the manic sitcom energy it thrives on without having to be a rehashing of some unrelated property.
