Solid action show in the vein of Banshee, if not quite as graphic. Excellent cast and well-written characters that were far more entertaining than the trailer led me to expect.

A much better adaptation of the source material than Tom Cruise in the role. In an investigation details matter!

Solid show. I haven't read the books nor have I seen the movies. An interesting whodunnit with a protagonist who reminds me of 80's action heroes meets Sherlock Holmes. At first, I wasn't sure if I could handle Ritchson in a serious role - with me being a big fan of Blue Mountain State and that show being my only exposure to him as an actor. However, he knocked it out of the park. Solid performance from the supporting cast. Tight, well-paced writing.

My only complaint was the ending. Again, haven't read the books, so if this was how The Killing Fields ended, then it is what it is. But, the ending seemed too neat to me. Still... it was season one. We now know what Reacher is capable of and this sets us up to be truly concerned for him and anyone he is in contact with if/when he faces a threat that's out of his depths.

So much better than the mis-casted movie, that's for sure. Main characters appearance is spot on and does a great Job at giving Lee Childs "Reacher" a very real/ believable face. The acting itself was on point for each and every character. Over all, the producers, cast and crew should feel proud. They nailed it.

Much better adaption of the character than the movies. Great casting and solid writing that stays pretty true to the source material. There is a lot going on that could be tough to follow without having read the book but overall the story is well thought out. Doing only 8 episodes was absolutely the right call. Watched it all in one day

    Bang on perfect adaptation.
Finally got casting right, and followed the book.

Good fun show, kind of a throw back to wander vigilante shows from the 80s (put me in mind of knight rider a lot, also reminiscent for incredible hulk and a team). Alan Ritchson is a far better bit of casting for the role of Reacher than Tom Cruise was.

As a huge fan of the Reacher book, I really enjoyed the show. The snark and swagger are all there, as is the ability to problem solve. This is a great adaptation to the books and a very entertaining show. There is no waiting around for something to happen, or some plot to develop. It just barrels ahead with very few breaks in the action. Alan Ritchson is perfect for this role. If you have read the books, than he is exactly who you picture to play the part. I watched this in one day and loved every second!

Good first series, liked it a lot. Much better than that Tom Cruise miscast nonsense. Stayed pretty close to the books with some fine and some disappointing dilutions. Good use of backstory to give Reacher a little more depth for a new watcher. Casting is solid and fight scenes were a mix of innovate and ok. Lots of promise for a second series.

Well, this Reacher is a lot better than the Tom Cruise Reacher (at least he's close to the right size). The supporting cast is pretty good too. The great aspect of Reacher is he's no-nonsense in word and deed. This TV series does a pretty good job of getting that across.

Basically this is another 'hey, they killed my family member, now I am allowed to kill and torture them all' kind of movie/series. The main character talks a lot to explain how he deduced his amazing findings (think a very traditional tv sleuth), but at the same time he is supposed to be the silent type - well, not in this series. The action is ok, the main actor likeable but a bit stiff - with a good supporting cast (especially Willa Fitzgerald as Roscoe and Malcom Goodwin as sidekick. In smaller reoccurring roles: Kristin Kreuk and Currie Graham). The plot starts out mediocre (really, there is nothing in it which you won't see coming for miles) and goes down from there - it is just a vehicle for the violent revenge fantasy. Especially the second plot line which shows some episodes from Reacher's youth and his relation to his brother, which has no other function than to give the main character some emotional depth, devolves after a cliché but not too bad start into something very cheesy.
Not sure what Amazon is thinking when they produce a series like that for an international audience. It has an US-centered outlook with a strange mix of military and small-town values at its core. It drops any pretense that acting out the violent fantasies of its audience has to motivated by being on the right side and doing the right thing. The main positive characters treat the bad ones cowardly and with lots of unnecessary violence, because 'it is a war'. It is no longer about bringing bad people to justice at the end, but to kill them all brutally - basically it invites us to be part of a lynch mob and feel good about it.
And finally: We live 2022 in a world where every place is connected to any other place almost instantly with video feeds - and one plot element hinges on the fact that two US scientists are out of the country and cannot be reached for days?

It's a bit gormless, there are flashes of wit early on, but the lead just doesn't have the charisma to carry the whole show, it feels very network TV, circa 2003. Clunky stale fight choreography, and pretty poor camera work. It's inoffensive enough, but also bland.

The plot of this series requires you to set your Suspension of Disbelief meter to the max and even then you should try to turn the dial a bit higher. There is just not very much that is plausible in the plotting of the entire series.

But if all you are interested in is watching a macho man and his cohorts scything their way through a small army of miscreants, you might enjoy this series.

A throwback show to an age where a big strong dude stands up to right wrongs. In a world where men are cast in roles of being weak and foolish Reacher doubles down on being bigger and badder than everyone else to deliver justice. This series is much better than the miscasted movie. Does it hit every mark? No. Does it matter? No but it does land enough skull crushing elbows to keep you watching.

Reacher would be among best shows in 2022. When people see a lot of **** in hollywood. like blood origin, resident evil, etc. Season like this one will always get rating because it matches the mind of majority. Acting was so good and the location just gave me goosebumps. If you do not want to get bored and not feel guilty for wasting your time. Then this is the series to watch

Reacher not only follows the core of the source material it's based on, but it presents us with a compelling, interesting and well written story.

This show takes itself and its story very seriously, with no time for political agendas. It's an unapologetic story that gives you all that you can want. It has action, mystery, drama, humor, romance, friendship, betrayal, crime, and challenging decisions.

If you lose Jack Reacher, you'll lose what will definitely be one of best shows of 2022.

Fortunately for the series, [Alan Ritchson is] gifted enough—and has a sufficient sense of understated humor—to sell a Reacher-worthy combination of menace, cynicism and even grudging warmth. It's something that helps make the show one of the more watchable on TV, where there's certainly no shortage of crime series.

It is a show that knows exactly what it is and what it needs to be, providing an entertaining catharsis in seeing Reacher take down those who abuse their power. He is capable of just about anything, for better or worse. ... Whatever path Reacher ends up taking, as long as he is played by Ritchson, the material is in good hands.
