It saddens me to report that the Peacock sequel represents just about everything that can possibly go wrong with this sort of project. ... It isn’t just the nostalgia that grates early and often. The writing on the show is almost uniformly atrocious, with dialogue toggling between parental bromides (“I don’t know what I’m doing—it’s called parenting!”) and sub-Disney Channel silliness.

The writing is so bad it should be studied and I think their is a good reason that the retuning adults never made it in acting as well, it’s really bad I hate to say. I think with better writing that things could improve as even Freddie Prince Jr looks like a rookie actor with little skill.
It could have been a strong show fostering more young girls to be themselves the was the original did but instead it’s a pandering afterthought.
If there is a season two I hope they replace all the writers.
