Whole scenes go by in which nothing is said that matters and the plot doesn't move. I have a feeling that this must just be 'True Blood' for straight men. We're just gonna hang around this small town getting to know boring people and solving their little life-problems forever. And the sign outside the church is getting old already. I'm bored. Expand

Made-for-tv garbage. completely changed story, changed characters, with no intention of being the wacky, surprising, darkly humorous satire that the orginal tale was.

With the bonus of all new cliched dialogue and hack plotting, instead of Garth Ennis' original wit. What a balls up! Seth Rogan is an idiot. To be honest in real life he comes across as an idiot....so i'm not surprised

This is pretty bad. This TV show absolutely mangles the original source material. It is a shame that they felt the need to take liberties (and that they decided to cast someone so bland and vanilla as Jesse Custer, a.k.a. Preacher). Seth Rogen should just play unfunny stoners in the films of Judd Apatow, and nothing else.

Pretty disappointed with this. Not true to the source material at all. Terrible. I'm a huge fan of the source material and think it would've made an amazing TV show. Unfortunately someone put Seth Rogen in charge. I personally don't like anything his name has been attached to and this is no exception. I've never read the comic, only heard about it. So my opinion is purely based on how TV shows supposed to work. The pilot episode did not work at all for me. We went everywhere; Kansas, Texas, some corn field somewhere, other places that I couldnt care to remember.

People just pop in and we're supposed to know that they're cool with the main character for reasons apparently too

People just pop in and we're supposed to know that they're cool with the main character for reasons apparently too important to tell in a linear fashion. Hey look, a guy with a screwed up face, let's explain who this guy....nope, and now we're off to Oregon for some reason (I'm just using random states at this point).

What happens in Oregon, two random guys doing something with no dialogue attached. O-kay...let's go to an airplane and introduce a character through a crazy wild moment.....then never explain exactly what he is or any motivations.

Long story short, I'm sticking around for one more episode but not expecting much.

What can I say about a show that is adapted from a comic, but has very little to do with the comic? This show is Preacher in name only. Sure, the characters are great, but their journey is a huge part of what makes them great. Why the producers, who are supposedly fans, chose to not follow it even a little bit, is quite perplexing. If only this show was made by HBO, then maybe it could of been done well, but AMC was a bad choice. This review is only based on the first two episodes, so maybe it will get better, but based on what I have seen so far it doesn't seem very likely. I was genuinely surprised when I saw this show had mostly good reviews. Even if this show wasn't based on a beloved comic book series, I still don't think I would like it; It tries way too hard to be this crazy weird reality that Preacher was based in, but it just comes off as desperate to be different in order to attract an audience. Just watched the pilot. Baffeled as to how this low quality show is getting praise. No substance, style or entertainment here that's worth the time. Change the channel, read a book or go for a walk instead. Better use of your time.

Simplemente, basura. 0% de respeto al material, dialogos y tramas absurdas. Al menos en TWD y JDT respetan, esto ni siquiera. Han convertido Predicador en Smallville.

    Puto Seth Rogen.

What a total piece of garbage. Saw the first episode and after 15 minutes hit our favorite button on our TV.....delete. Watched it because of Seth Rogan and the show is a dismal disappointment.

Seems pretty good so far. Horrible casting for every character so far. Did the creators of this even read the comic? Is it so hard to expect characters to be at lease a little close to what they are supposed to be? I would give it a 7 for an early review but i deducted 3 off the top for the problematic choices and the downright racist choice for tulip.

The pilot was great, but the 2nd episode was meh at best and last night's outright sucked ass. Too bad, another pilot without an actual series to back it up.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

For those who followed the comic book series not recommend, I do not like this story completely modified at any time. Weak fight scenes, the actors were chosen for the main couple of people who have not read even one page of the graphic novel .

    Never read, can serve .

If you've read, so forget that ****

Preacher is a boring, uninspired series that goes nowhere. Within fifteen minutes I completely lost interest in what was happening, and went off to look for something else to do. I kept the show running in the background and discovered it was a show where you didn't have to watch it to know what was going on. This is never a good sign. I haven't gone back to watch further episodes.

I never liked Seth Rogen. I hate him even more, after watching Preach season finale and totally mess with the original comics. This show sucks. A lot.

What an utterly pointless show... I mean – how can you take great comics packed with all the dark humor and interesting characters and manage to transform it into this garbage? Seriously, don´t watch this, rather read a comics, this stuff is completely wrong and a truly sad paragon of the nowadays remake trend.

Preacher is a black comedy, a horror funhouse, a mild meditation on belief and a wicked good time. There’s nothing left to say but: Amen.

It'd be easy for Preacher to operate as a cut-and-dried adaptation; the comic is vibrant, with an incredibly specific tone and complicated backstory. But in reimagining it for television, AMC dug a little deeper, and came up with something more satisfying and complex.
