    Excellent first episode. If the rest of the season is anywhere near its caliber then we are in for a treat and a thrill ride. This show balances a great southern outsider drama along the lines of Rectify while stirring in excellent creepy horror genre elements. By the end of the first episode I was fully invested in the main character and where this all is going.

    Was really worried that this would just be another "The Walking Dead" or something like that, so I was absolutely pleased to see that "Outcast" is a dark show that has a very art-house horror vibe to it, making for some really interesting comic book TV. So far im really invested to see where the story goes and can't wait to see more.

    This was almost too scary for me. I usually don't watch horror and I hate stuff with demonic possession even more. But I love the atmosphere, the story, acting and cinematography. I will definitely watch it again (until I get nightmares).

    Excellent show, watched the first season already been confirmed another is coming in 2017, i was amazingly surprise. The camera angle, the soundtrack, the creepy set, almost everything is well crafted, Can't wait for more, Patrick Fugit acting is intense in a good way. Happy to see Brent Spinner coming back, to my opinion the best horror show this year.

    Honestly, my first impressions of the show were less then favorable, As I delved deeper into the series however, it became evident that this show has some serious potential. Do not judge this show by the first two episodes. This show is definitely worth watching.

    Did some idiot really complain that the show's leads are two white men? Lol, it's 2016 everyone! Anyway, pretty great show. The small town south is treated relatively realistically for once, and the diversity involved feels natural and not forced. Amazingly, even Christianity is treated with some respect! By golly, this may be the first genuinely progressive show in years! Outcast is darkDid some idiot really complain that the show's leads are two white men? Lol, it's 2016 everyone! Amazingly, even Christianity is treated with some respect! By golly, this may be the first genuinely progressive show in years! Outcast is dark and disturbing and the paranormal elements are quite intense, but there is a real sense of humanity here too, and some of the scenes involving the broken family can be pretty heart wrenching. I thought the acting was great, and most of the actors actually nail their regional southern accents, which is a feat so rarely accomplished in hollyweird that it may have only been done properly once before, in True Detective season one. I'd highly recommend this show to anyone who enjoys spooky slow-burners ... unless of course the fact that the leads aren't transgendered Muslim black women offends you. If that's the case, this show probably isn't for you.… Expand

    Judging from the beginning, it's going to be a superb horror show !! Well directed, gives the viewer enough chills to come back wanting more. Nice cinematography and photography. Along with the Preacher, they'll be the tv horror shows for this summer.

    After watching 'Banshee' on Cinemax, I decided to give 'Outcast' a try as well. The trailers looked very creepy, and being a big fan of 'The Walking Dead', seeing another show from Robert Kirkman intrigued me. After watching the first episode, i was not disappointed. This show had me feeling very anxious throughout. The story starts off with a young boy named Joshua,    S01E01

    After watching 'Banshee' on Cinemax, I decided to give 'Outcast' a try as well. The trailers looked very creepy, and being a big fan of 'The Walking Dead', seeing another show from Robert Kirkman intrigued me.

    After watching the first episode, i was not disappointed. This show had me feeling very anxious throughout.

    The story starts off with a young boy named Joshua, mutilating and even cannibalizing himself. After some back story, we find out that he is indeed possessed by a demon, which seems to be prevalent in this world.

    We are also introduced to a man named Kyle, whose mother was also possessed when he was a kid. Kyle is living alone in an unkempt home. We find out that his wife and daughter left him after an incident, as his foster sister is trying to help him.

    Kyle hears about Joshua's situation and seeks out the town's reverend, whom Kyle knew as a boy from his mother's possession. Kyle and the reverend are able to combat the demon possessing Joshua after a few attempts, but the demon claims to know Kyle and his history.

    The main plot of the season will seemingly be Kyle's struggle against the demonic forces that are possessing people, as well as his own personal demons.

    The show was extremely creepy and unnerving. Watching Joshua mutilate himself during his possession was down-right disgusting and stomach-turning. I really enjoyed the show, being a supernatural horror fan. I think that shows like this belong on stations like Cinemax due to their graphic nature. While I don't need to see what could be construed as porn during a TV show, I feel like basic cable channels are held back on the content they are allowed to show. Cinemax and stations like it have a real opportunity to put out high quality programming that could eventually get them more renowned properties. I mean, could you imagine 'The Walking Dead' on Cinemax? It would be insane.

    In its second and third episodes, the material periodically drags to a crawl while laying the bedrock foundation for forthcoming action. And its habit of leaving key details and interpersonal dynamics vague borders on irritating. Though it resumes building momentum by the end of its fourth chapter, there’s a sense that the show requires somewhat more vigorous storytelling.

    Outcast is incredibly visceral, both in its scenes of demonic possession and in the punch-happy tactics of the titular amateur exorcist. But it's also a tense, meditative psychological drama about trauma, redemption and belief, with nuanced performances throughout and a grim but arresting visual style that is not without flashes of humor.
