    I have never watched the anime, nor read the manga. Really loved this season, the characters, acting , photography, even the special effects are great for such an adaptation. Can't wait for the next season to come up.

    The best manga series of all time. It's a good thing I haven't read One Piece before. Thus I can absorb all the good stuffs without making any comparation.

    As a livelong fan of One Piece (20 years) I couldn't have hoped for a better adaption.
    The love and care that was put into this show and its beloved characters is present in every episode.
    An absolute joy to watch!

    How can some rate this good anime adaptation so poorly? It may not be perfect, but you can't please all fans 100% either. But it's close and better than the anime in my opinion. I was amazed, laughed and even had a few tears in my eyes. So for me it's a 10.
    Also CGI and especially the music was really good for a series. I hope for more. I want to see Nico Robin and Chopper. :)

    Didn't expect it to be this good.This is the 2nd anime/manga to get a really good live action adaptation the 1st one is Alita battle angel and now this.Hope netflix doesn't cancel it.

    The respect for the show is there, the story is not 1:1, but that's ok as long as they respect the characters origin. You can clearly see, how the actors try to give a good performance and I even see some having fun with their characters. The chemistry between the crew is ok (could be better, but good enough). After I watched the 2 first episodes at a friends home I paid for my 1st Netflix sub. If we get more seasons, which I hope, please don't to a Witcher on us. Thank you.

    Edit: Just finished the show and I must say of all the fails I imagined to happen this surely was on the list, but somehow Netflix pulled it off. The actors really give their all, be it the main crew or side chars. Especially Buggy is a joy to watch. The respect towards the original work is present. Kudos to everyone involved. It's not perfect but for LA One Piece, it's incredible how close it gets.    … Expand

    Quite a charming adaptation of a classic manga. The cast fit the characters well while giving them more life-like qualities, especially the Straw Hat Pirates. Reminds me of Pirates of the Carrabeans mixed with the One Piece anime.

    After Netflix's "Death Note", I believed that there was no hope for "One Piece" to be any good. I didn't even plan to watch it. How wrong I was! Adaptation for 20/10. I can't imagine if a better live-action adaptation of the manga/anime could have been made. Just pleasantly surprised and infinitely satisfied!!! I advise all fans to watch.     Not a fan of the original anime, but this series just works: absurd comedy and drama about pirates and agents fighting for one last treasure. The action is memorable, the characters are funky, and they don't try to reinvent them.

    I'll admit I've never watched the anime or read the manga for this before, I saw that the anime was over 900 episodes long and dipped out, but be that as it may the characters were extremely fun, had great chemistry and was just instantly likeable, I very much enjoyed this show and I'm eagerly waiting for a second season.

    We need more live action anime shows done like this! Netflix were very faithful to the anime in this adaptation. More pple need to watch this show!

    OmG they did it !!!! How amazing is that!!!! From truly beginning, we feel the passion and love to the franchise from the showrunners - the cast , atmosphere and vibe is perfect

We wanted Luffy, Zoro and Nami, and who knows maybe we even wanted Axe hand Morgan and Helmeppo. The live action adaptation allows the actors give the characters deep and emotions anime still cant just cut yet. For example when nami told Luffy she hatesWhat we wanted for a live action adaptation? cool fights? nuclear explossions? There is only one right answer. We want characters. For example when nami told Luffy she hates pirates, on just a second gives so much info on the character than anime nami could on the whole orange town arch (and one piece its a great anime for sure). And this goes to the fights too. (Btw love see more of nami fighting. On later arcs she became quite powerful by her own right so is cool on this reimagination to see more from her on the beggining). From Luffy like just playing and toying with his oponents to zoro, always serious but like his oponents not worthy of him while nami giving her absolute best. Its amazing how the fights are not only fan service but also character work that push the story forward.
    One piece again becomes the standard now for what you have to do to make a cool live adaptation of already cool anime.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Me encanto la serie y estoy muy feliz de lo que se logró. Excelente casting, gran presupuesto y una historia bien adaptada a un live action. Mi favorito por lejos es Iñaki, pero hay que decir que Emily y Mackenyu se roban muchas escenas. En resumen es una historia dinámica, divertida y con gran corazón, los personajes son entrañables y te importa lo que les pase. AME como adaptaron el mundo de One Piece a la realidad, en el sentido que muchas cosas que son de "caricaturas" o muy "locas" de la historia de Oda Sensei tienen sentido en este mundo único. Esperando con ansias que le vaya excelente para ver una temporada 2!!… Expand

    Netflix had the difficult task of making a Live Action on a deeply cartoonish universe. That is to say that it is not only a question of rendering a few superheroes well in a realistic universe but rather of re-creating the entire fantastic universe of One Piece (the islands, the boats, the fish men, the particular style of iconic secondary characters and pirates).

    Another problem that    Netflix had the difficult task of making a Live Action on a deeply cartoonish universe. That is to say that it is not only a question of rendering a few superheroes well in a realistic universe but rather of re-creating the entire fantastic universe of One Piece (the islands, the boats, the fish men, the particular style of iconic secondary characters and pirates).

    Another problem that presented itself to them was to manage to keep the spirit of the manga with 5 times less viewing time. It is precisely here that the term re-adaptation makes sense. It is by reorganizing the events that they succeed without time acceleration mechanics (like 5 days later, etc.) in preserving the logic of the story, presenting the dreams and the story of each person, the elements which pushes them and their relationships to evolve, while being fluid and natural.

    5 stars because although I had no doubt that the aficionados were going to have the best time overall. I didn't think the series was going to succeed in conquering the Grand Line. I have the impression that Luffy makes everyone smile!!    … Expand

    Viendo la serie como fan, no es tal cual al anime y al manga pero claro porque es una adaptacion pero es de las mejores que he visto de un anime aun sabiendo que iba a pasar me logro emocionar incluso mas que el anime, la banda sonora es increible, la actuaciones la direccion es muy buena cada capitulo te deja con ganas de mas y incluso amigos que no se han visto el anime les a encatado,Viendo la serie como fan, no es tal cual al anime y al manga pero claro porque es una adaptacion pero es de las mejores que he visto de un anime aun sabiendo que iba a pasar me logro emocionar incluso mas que el anime, la banda sonora es increible, la actuaciones la direccion es muy buena cada capitulo te deja con ganas de mas y incluso amigos que no se han visto el anime les a encatado, con ganas de que saquen otra temporada.… Expand
