So far, so good. With a production quality similar to previous Star Wars shows, Obi-Wan tells another story to fill the gaps between the Prequel and Original trilogy. While it doesn't offer anything particularly unique, it does tell a competent and engaging story...something not all Star Wars shows have succeeded at.

Well written, well directed and old school. Characters are strongest part, not the CGI. Hopefully it will keep this level throughout all the season.

Don't let the racists win. It's a good series so far. Standout performances by Ewan McGregor and Moses Ingram. Looking forward to where it b leads.

It's off to a good start. The acting is great, the character and set design are on point and it delivers that Star Wars feel imho. Leia is the biggest point of critique for me. Even though she's only 10, she seems to have some superpower that makes it really hard to chase her - even for grown up men that should run at least twice as fast as her lol. Leia kinda feels like that Disney aspect that they need to make the show appealing to audiences of all ages. Apart from that I have high hopes for this show to exceed Mando and Boba (which both disappointed me). Expand

Great show with promise! Sure there hasn’t been much action in the two episodes but there’s plenty of buildup in a dramatic fashion.

A brilliant addition to the Star Wars world; it has a lot more depth to it than the original trilogy, but adds a perspective to the end of the Clone Wars and the time between Three and Four we haven't yet seen.

I don’t agree with a lot of the criticism about the show. Sure the starts a little slow but it’s full of nostalgia and Ewan is great! Maybe the whole Leia rescue isn’t the most captivating story, but I doubt the show is going to revolve around that. There will be more planets and more action. I’m confident there will be plenty of surprises to come. Still plenty of time left.

I'm enjoying the show. It's difficult giving fans a show about things they have already pieced together in their minds, needing to fill in the blanks left from the long movie gaps. That's the main reason I wish they would move on from the skywalker line.
Kenobi delivers on some key moments, has some excellent acting by some and okay by others, but I feel as if they are showing reverence

Nice to see Disney finally acknowledging the prequel era a little bit. Don't get me wrong, this still takes place in that post-RotS, pre-A New Hope safe space that Kathleen Kennedy seems absolutely terrified to move away from, but at the same time it feels tailor-made for those who grew up with that overly-hated second trilogy. Don't get me wrong, this still takes place in that post-RotS, pre-A New Hope safe space that Kathleen Kennedy seems absolutely terrified to move away from, but at the same time it feels tailor-made for those who grew up with that overly-hated second trilogy. It's the Star Wars content I've been most looking forward to for some time now. My favorite character in this massive, media-spanning franchise has always been Obi-Wan, and given what a tiny part he had in the OT that is in no small part due to Ewan McGregor's performance. So getting to see him step back into that role, alongside other returning faces from those same movies, hit all the right nostalgic notes for me while also providing a story with some actual significance in the canon due to the way it shows how the legendary Jedi went from being the broken man we saw at the end of Episode III to the reinvigorated wise mentor who would lead Luke on the first steps of his journey in Episode IV.

So this isn't just dusting off a fan favorite for a quick good time Solo-style, but actually provides the last essential piece of history for one of the franchise's most important personas. Kenobi's entire arc here sees him forced to face the demons of his past in a struggle that's as much internal as it is external. A conflict that ultimately allows him to rediscover a sense of peace, understanding, and his faith. It carries profound themes of self-forgiveness (particularly if what happened wasn't truly your fault), letting go of trauma, and forging a new, healthier path. I hear a lot of people complaining about Third Sister Reva, but while it may be a bit redundant her inclusion really helps to hammer that message home even further.

All the underlying depth of its subtext wouldn't mean much however if the miniseries wasn't fun to watch. Luckily the core dynamic between the titular hero and the child-aged version of a very familiar princess is absolutely charming, and there were still plenty of tense moments that had my heart skipping a beat despite the fact that its prequel nature meant I knew who was in real danger or not. This period in the saga is also excellently brought to life with an appropriate tone of hopelessness and desperation similar to Rogue One as the good people in the galaxy far, far away are forced into hiding or subjugation to survive being hunted.

By far the greatest source of excitement though has got to be Darth Vader. It's been touted across countless films, shows, and literature how those under the Empire's rule lived in complete terror of his immense power, but this is the first piece of the fiction I've come across that's allowed us to see it for ourselves. The Sith lord is simply terrifying here, performing feats straight out of The Force Unleashed video game. Something made all the sweeter thanks to the unfairly treated Hayden Christensen coming back to don the iconic helmet. The action is of a grittier nature than we typically get from the brand as well, with lightsabers getting forsaken for some old fashioned fisticuffs and displays of the force that are more massive and bombastic than anything in any of the 9 films prior.

It's refreshing to receive a project that seems built from the ground up for the portion of the community that's been largely ignored since George Lucas sold the rights to his space opera baby. Especially since it provides the final vital chapter in the history of its protagonist. Those "fans" who have been upset about everything since the first two-thirds of Return of the Jedi are better off passing, as this serves as a continuation to a part of the saga they have no appreciation for anyways. Yet, for those of us who actually like Star Wars? There are a few minor niggles with things like characters inexplicably choosing to not wipe out certain threats or how apparently taking a laser sword to the gut isn't fatal anymore, but at long last we have been given the full picture of Obi-Wan's life, and that is worth celebrating.

This show is really fun, although they ripped off the relationship between Mandalorian and Grogu. Seeing the inquisitors in live action is really fun and engaging.

A fine addition to the Star Wars canon. While there are a few minor flaws and plot holes, it doesn't really take away from is a well written, character driven series.

Meh. It's not horrible, but not engaging either 3 episodes in. But you know what irks me most? Is the new Kenobi theme by John Williams a rip off of the theme for Attack of the Killer Tomatoes???

Update: It ended a lot better than it started. I bumped this up from a 5 three episodes in to a 7 after all six episodes. Haja was the break out character of the series. Reva ended much

Reva ended much better than she started. HC managed to salvage Anakin from prequel series stumbles. But EMG proves he's made the part his own. And I still think Attack of the Killer Tomatoes every time I hear the new theme.

Why are people so mad about this movie? It’s so good? Like it’s a Star Wars show, most of the movies weren’t even cinematically great to begin with, they were fun. And now we have one with solid dialogue, plot, and amazing lighting direction with a villain that isn’t some cookie cutter bad guy.

Season a bit mistreated, because it starts very well, but then it gets lost in gags and quotes, which to define forced or useless is an understatement. It's always nice to find Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars universe, especially in a time period like that of imperial hegemony but the real question is: what was this show for? Still remains good.

Obi-Wan had a larger problem: It was dumb as a rock. Simple rules of spatial logic went out the window. Main characters kept almost killing each other, and then walking away long enough for their wounded opponent could recover.

McGregor is wholly up to the challenge of shouldering the emotional weight of this series, which feels less like a cynical cash grab (despite being that) than a natural continuation of the saga that Lucas crafted more than two decades ago.

Ewan McGregor was last seen as Obi-Wan, he brings more depth, more of a world-weary wisdom to the role. ... As is the case with many a “Star Wars” title, the dialogue sometimes borders on the corny, but director Deborah Chow (“The Mandalorian”) has a keen sense of pacing and a distinct visual style that holds our interest even in the quieter moments. “Obi-Wan Kenobi” is off to a roaring start.
