Summary:
Time period: June 1861 - July 21, 1861. Orry and Charles leave for the war in Virginia as officers in the Confederate Army, while George and Billy are officers in the US Army. With Orry gone to war, Justin kidnaps Madeline hurting Orry's mother in the process. Ashton becomes lover of a smuggler called Elkanah Bent.
