A layered, propulsive series exemplifying the energy and dynamism that keeps the cops-and-robbers genre so appealing. It’s a shot of pure adrenaline and hell-yeah vigor followed up with a chaser of pathos and longing, and it’s one of the best new series Netflix has released this year.

The occasional moments of comedy show that Nemesis knows how absurd it needs to be. And because it judges its own chaos levels perfectly, it’s ridiculously entertaining.

“Nemesis” asks its viewers a long-standing question: “What will the total annihilation of another cost you?” .... With all of its intense cliffhangers and sexy sequences, it’s still incredibly fun to watch Isiah and Coltrane find out what the answer is.

There is a lot about Nemesis that’s clunky and cliche. But we liked the performances of both Law and Noel, and we hope that the complexity of both of their characters’ lives will be explored with more depth as the series goes along.

Nemesis is a soapy serialized thriller that embraces its emotional excesses and occasional detours of narrative ludicrousness. Some of those story choices and character decisions irritated me, and the less than ideal central casting proved a frequent liability, but I never found Nemesis to be anything less than pulpy and entertaining.
