    We watch the other two shows. The LA version has pretty outrageous plots but at least the characters are interesting. The New Orleans version has both bad writing and bad acting. Its almost unwatchable its so bad. The stealth pilot NCIS episode wasn't bad but the first two episodes of the spinoff were not nearly as good. One more clunker and its off the Tivo.

    This show has several faults beginning with the writing which is absolutely horrible. The dialogue reminds me of a grade school play. The actors are okay at best, but the accents are silly. The only things of merit are the plot lines which actually believable.

    Lucas Black repeatedly acts as if he has been caught by his Mom reading dirty books.     Lucas Black repeatedly acts as if he has been caught by his Mom reading dirty books. Scott Bakula just does not portray an individual of authority as Agent in Charge. Zoe McLellan is the only one worth keeping, and should transfer to the D.C. unit to join Gibbs and Company.

    I have really enjoyed NCIS and NCIS LA. But this one is really poorly done. I grew up in New Orleans . . . and these people would NOT HAVE AN OFFICE in the French Quarter. The accents are awful. The frequent Quarter shoots are bogus. What the heck are they thinking? People who live in New Orleans come from all over. They would have done much better not to have these forced accents (oh,I have really enjoyed NCIS and NCIS LA. But this one is really poorly done. I grew up in New Orleans . . . and these people would NOT HAVE AN OFFICE in the French Quarter. The accents are awful. The frequent Quarter shoots are bogus. What the heck are they thinking? People who live in New Orleans come from all over. They would have done much better not to have these forced accents (oh, god how awful), and to use more of the city for location shoots.     Really poor, Just about everything in this show is substandard. The dialogue, the dumb plots, the bogus background shots, the God awful accents. But over and above all of them is Scott Bakula. He's useless. TV for vegetables

    Where to start… The accents are horrible. The clichés of New Orleans are ridiculous and way too many of them. My suggestions is to lose the accents so people do not think it is a joke and treat the show just like the rest of the NCIS’s. The location and the stories will carry the show.

    Scott just doesn't cut it. He tries hard to be cool, like Gibbs, but it just doesn't work, and comes off as dull. And, even though I spent a lot of time in the South, I hate the southern accents - are they fake? It's just wrong on so many levels.

Absolutely no one in NewOrleans or anywhere else in the south for that matter speaks like this. How they thought that this caricature of the south would not cause offence is beyond me.     While all the characters are likable in other roles and I like all of them there is zero chemistry between them. The stranded southern accents won't allow the real characters to come through. For example when Jennifer Love Hewitt joined "Criminal Minds" I thought I'd be watching her Ghost Whisperer character. But she was instantly believable to me in her role. I forgot who she was. NCIS:While all the characters are likable in other roles and I like all of them there is zero chemistry between them. The stranded southern accents won't allow the real characters to come through.     Not only has the original "NCIS" series over stayed its welcome, its getting to the point where TV fans are getting tired of seeing 3 hours worth of "NCIS" franchise incarnations every week. "NCIS" used to be a decent series (though over 10 years on the air has made its plot line severely weakened), and "NCIS: Los Angeles" was just another waste of a solid primetime hour when it premiered.Not only has the original "NCIS" series over stayed its welcome, its getting to the point where TV fans are getting tired of seeing 3 hours worth of "NCIS" franchise incarnations every week. "NCIS" used to be a decent series (though over 10 years on the air has made its plot line severely weakened), and "NCIS: Los Angeles" was just another waste of a solid primetime hour when it premiered. "NCIS: New Orleans" is just another waste (that will likely last 10 years), even worse than the two original versions (it makes fun of the city and categorizes lots of stereotypes).

    Soon enough, CBS will have all three current incarnations as well as "NCIS: Dallas", "NCIS: Seattle", "NCIS: Miami", which will end up taking up at least two full nights of air space. Predicting that by 2020, CBS will be ready to launch their own NCIS network with all primetime hours devoted to original "NCIS" related program. I mean come on, this is just ridiculous.    … Expand

    I am sorry to be so harsh but as an experienced NCIS viewer I cannot watch this spin-off. The acting is terrible, as are the accents. NCIS with Gibbs, Tony or Ducky is always in the episode in one way or another. The story lines are transparent, predictable and little effort has been provided for authenticity. For example, the Lieutenant on scene with her badge on the wrong side. As aI am sorry to be so harsh but as an experienced NCIS viewer I cannot watch this spin-off.     I'm a big fan of NCIS, and I love Scott Bakula and CCH Pounder. But the script, the accents, and the dude with the Alabama accent are absolutely too much!
    Let New Orleans be New Orleans. Let Bakula be himself. Cump the corny accent. Let the STORIES carry this series, and it might have a chance.

    Very disappointed in NCIS New Orleans. Not original. Just a clone of NCIS. Producers seem to keep trying to boost the ratings by insinuating the regular cast of NCIS. Tuned into episode tonight any Tony from NCIS appears. The plots are mediocre and most of the characters are rip offs from NCIS: Too much emphasis on New Orleans as a backdrop and the fake Southern accents areVery disappointed in NCIS New Orleans.     I think your time is better spent making the world a better place than to watch this poor excuse for entertainment.. The writer directors are drunk, or burned out on rewriting old sitcoms now days...
    It's time to move on to better, programs...

    I hope the writers are paying the producers, not producers paying writers. They are in dire need of imagination.......ANY imagination.

    I have started to watch the first show and all I can say is "Are the girls in the convertible from the "short bus"? To start on a premise that anyone would stay at the seen of escaping prisoners next to a perfect running vehicle is on par with the stupid horror teens that always go into the dank dark cellar or other ominous area instead of fleeing the obvious "seen of the soon to beI have started to watch the first show and all I can say is "Are the girls in the convertible from the "short bus"? I can't say enough of how unfortunate this show is! I certainly hope they get enough money to hire a real writing staff .     I am a huge NCIS fan, but NCIS:NO is disappointing at best. The accents are so weak I'm not sure what part of the country they represent. On the plus side, the story lines are interesting, but the acting seems forced. Perhaps they are trying to hard to breath life into an overused concept. Take a page out of the MASH file, quit while the viewers still love the story, characters, andI am a huge NCIS fan, but NCIS:NO is disappointing at best. The accents are so weak I'm not sure what part of the country they represent. On the plus side, the story lines are interesting, but the acting seems forced. Perhaps they are trying to hard to breath life into an overused concept. Take a page out of the MASH file, quit while the viewers still love the story, characters, and special spot in t.v. history.… Expand

    This show is an insult to the other two NCIS shows. The characters and the actors' performances SUCK! Their accents are unbelievable and the story line is a constant disappointment. I have turned to USA and TNT for Tuesday night entertainment. My co-workers have agreed that this show is a huge disappointment.

    The original NCIS is my favorite show so I was looking forward to watching this version when it was announced. While the supporting cast is pretty good, the lead character/actor is really bad. Every line that comes out of Agent Pride's mouth sounds forced and unbelievable,, including his favorite "go, learn things." Unfortunately, when the center of the show isn't any good, its doesn'tThe original NCIS is my favorite show so I was looking forward to watching this version when it was announced. While the supporting cast is pretty good, the lead character/actor is really bad. Every line that comes out of Agent Pride's mouth sounds forced and unbelievable,, including his favorite "go, learn things."     I began despising it last year. As Dwayne and his daughter walked outside, under an overcast with NO sunshine, he proclaims, "It's a great day, not a cloud in the sky!" Also Loretta complains about no masks being worn and later she's not wearing one. Dwayne takes his mask OFF in the park and a girl wears hers under her nose. Just lose the masks...morons. I'm done with this "Show!"

    There's enough detail in the setting and characterization to keep it distinct from the mothership, but also more than enough of the template (down to the freeze-frame tic at the open and close of each act) to make it go down like a comforting plate of crawfish etouffee.

    The plot of the pilot, which begins with the discovery of a severed leg in a load of shrimp, is clever enough and manages to fit a lot of locations into its 40-minute hour. That time is also filled with cornball dialogue, shameless sentimentality and B-movie displays of toughness.
