While Part 4 of "La Casa de Papel" is full of twists and cliffhangers, it feels like a 'middle chapter' season. The first three seasons were a cat-and-mouse game between the government and the team, with us rooting for both; this one removes that grey area, and explicitly makes the team the protagonists. It feels as if the creators have lost focus on what made the first three seasons resonate; like the battle of wits between the two sides, the moral trappings of supporting either side, and the social allegories. Instead, the focus of Part 4 is simply to create as many shocking moments as possible. Expand

While I find this series still very entertaining, it's getting bogged down with every episode not only in this, but also in the previous season. I liked the idea of a mini-series, where a mysterious mastermind tries to pull off the heist of the century with a few renegades who are also shrouded in mystery.
This is almost completely thrown overboard in season 3 and especially 4. Everyone

This is almost completely thrown overboard in season 3 and especially 4. Everyone suddenly is friends with each other, something the "Professor" explicitly forbade when approaching the first heist. Hell, even he himself has his own girlfriend that helps him in the new heist. The episodes feel tense, but also very stretched out, I expected them to pull off the new new heist in 1 or 2 new seasons, now the second season is over and they are almost at the halfway point.
I will stick around for the completion of this arc, but I don't think I'll continue after that.
