Sep 6, 2018She is not the most attractive protagonist on television but at least the story stayed well and had an excellent villain. But it did not needed 13 episodes.

Jan 3, 2022Very slow but impactful first season. Ptsd is given nuance when a super hero battles with the trauma of an abusive relationship. David Tenant is fantastic and terrifying as the psychopathic Killgrave. It's noir atmosphere hinders some of the pacing but delivers more chills if you're willing to commit.

Jan 23, 2016Love all things Marvel but this show is just too hard to get into.
I've only a few episodes left to watch but for some bizarre reason choose anything over watching it to its conclusion. Shame really, maybe the Daredevil built my expectations too much but feeling consistently left down here. Good acting, decent story but feels stretched too thinly... -
Jan 23, 2017Even though it was pretty well directed, acted and executed, I had to force myself through the mid-to-last episodes. It seemed to me like it should have ended at 8 episodes rather than 13 and it took rather too long to get the story to it's peak. The villain was excellent and expertly acted. Jessica character was a bit too moody for me, like she had her period during all the show..

May 5, 2019Nothing great. Everything outside the Jessica-Killgrave relationship has very little relevance and removes emotion from the episodes.
-

Dec 1, 2015I loved everything about the show except for the incessant use of the contrived 'goddammit' expletive replacement and Krysten Ritter. Everyone except her was believable. She did not convince as the hard drinking, PTSD suffering lead. Krysten did not deliver the realistic, gritty, charismatic performance this series required. Kilgrave was a great villain.

Nov 21, 2015I had high hopes for this show as I love Marvel and I'm a fan of Ritter's but this show is plodding, not terribly eventful and ultimately a bit of a bore.

Jan 4, 2016Honestly, I don't get the hype. I watched the pilot, and trust me, it had a boring lead character, an okay villain, and not much a plot. It had sex scenes, I'll give it that, but not much else.

Nov 21, 2015Last night I saw the first episode and thought it was ok to start. Only after a time it became boring and I had turned it off.
The actress delivers a good job. It keeps the series still up. The remaining cast is poorly managed.
But since the first 13 episodes were pulled through it will probably also be a second season. Whyever. -
Nov 27, 2015Show with great potential, but terribly cast supervillain killed it. He was meant to be charismatic, but acts like spoiled whiny child all the time. Proves whats widely known, good villain is the hardest role to play. If they got anything similar to Hannibal's Hannibal, it would've been a hit.

Nov 27, 2015The potential to do cross-over is there but was not maximized, TV series is not as good as the original source material. David Tenant is a great actor but the poor script has no respect for logic.

Feb 28, 2018Fairly over rated and does not deserve the praise it gets, your average boring super hero show.

Nov 21, 2015Honestly couldn't get past the first 30-40 minutes of the first episode. I think it is wrongly cast and some of the acting is awful. Also, the writing and progression are both predictable and non-intriguing. I will give it another chance at some point but for now, 4/10.

Jan 5, 2016This show reminds me of the Will Smith movie “Hancock.”
Truth be known I would rather have seen a TV version of “Hancock” than this show; which I did watch several episodes but finally gave up because the stories were boring and acting inferior to what I had expected. -

Mar 8, 2018Watched all of season 1: flat, hollow, tinny. Not going to bother with season 2. All these Marvel TV series seem to be at the same level and I'm not even going to try them anymore. I think the problem is that there is no art here, it's just people cashing in on the property.

Nov 3, 2016Boring and stupid. Characters is not interesting and lack of charisma. Action shot very poorly. The actress is simply not prepared well. Carrie-Anne Moss could teach her a few lessons

May 23, 2016Horrible series! Too slow! Too much dialogue! This heroine is weak! If the producers, directors, and writers want to drag this into a soap opera super hero series, its going to fail big time. NOT impressive and its just too boring. Even a Shakespeare dialogue show is more interesting than Jessica Jones.
-
Mar 25, 2017this show is god awful the worst marvel show by far. little or no action in it. she rarely uses her super powers. it just drags on and on and on and on. i cant wait for the defenders. this is one show you can skip and still be caught up because nothing happens here. why does it take 13 eps to kill one guy who wasn't even strong? don't even waste your time with this show.
-
Feb 22, 2016This show is so bad... after watching narcos this is like watching peppa pig with my daughter. Charters are so dumb i can't stand to watch it after episode 5... so you want to capture a villain that can command you throught his voice ? Just use some earplug or earphones with high volume music !

Dec 20, 2015Main character was just not likable and series tries too hard to be dark and edgy. I hope Marvel does not go this route with Dare Devil, as that series had the perfect balance of darkness.

Nov 23, 2015Don't worry, you're not the only one that can't explain why this got good ratings. It's like True Detective season 2, but with more exploitation and b-actor resurrection.
-
Aug 9, 2016This show really drags, there are a lot of limitation showing JJ powers an other directive choices that I don't not support, the actors are good but the show is just a poor excuse of a show trying to take advantage of Dare Devil Season 1
-
Jan 12, 2016This was a tiresome series to get through, I made myself watch past the first couple of boring episodes because I liked Daredevil so much, awaiting DD season 2 & looking forward to the Luke Cage series but I would not miss never seeing this actress play this role (and after suffering through this, any role) ever again

Jan 4, 2016Poor dialoguess, poor script. The characters are dumb. I wanted to stop seeing in the middle of the serie.
Comparing to other series and movies from the marvel universe, Jessica Jones is far behind
Definetly a waste of time. -

It took five episodes for me to get interested--three too many, in these days of television glut. And only after the seventh and eighth did the cruel and clever plot twists (which include graphic torture) become truly gripping. In the early episodes, the pacing was logy and the action muddy, with several subplots that itched to be trimmed or recast.
-
Given the otherworldly circumstances, it all moves along quite logically and at a brisk pace that leaves dawdling for dead. There’s no flabby midsection here, just one major development after another. The fight scenes are well-choreographed and frequent. And the twists are imaginative while also being grounded in the grim realities of this ramped-up universe.

While, at first, the actress may not look like the superhero type, she convincingly gives Jessica a subtle toughness. In a way, the character is the flip side of Supergirl: Jones is a reluctant superhero, a loner who drinks too much and has real human flaws. Yet Ritter gives Jessica a needed likability. The series also boasts a solid supporting cast.
