Its been interesting to see Daredevil's character evolve and how the villains really flesh him out and push him to his limits, not only physically but emotionally. Acting has been great, even Bernthal does well. I find the chemistry between Daredevil and Elektra seems to flourish through on screen. I'm starting to find this season more interesting than the first one. I can even forgive that they steal a lot of the themes from Dark Knight on escalation and such. Expand

It should be seen as the quintessential portrayal of the Punisher in film. Electra is an incredibly fun, sexy, and dark character whose arc throughout the story is quite compelling. The plotlines for the other characters are also interesting and woven together in a way that makes sense. The fight scenes are the best on TV by a wide margin and there's one fight scene in particular that is one of the most brutal I've ever seen. We can start to see hints of how this series will integrate with Netflix's other Marvel series. If the others are of this quality (I sure liked Jessica Jones) then please, keep them coming. Mostly though I'm excited for season 3 of Daredevil. Expand

Another magnificent season of the best superhero show I've ever seen. It is a beautiful spectacle and expands over the first season quite a bit. I love how the show does not tease plot-lines--by the end of the first episode, I got to see plot points that I did not expect to see until I was at least midway into the show. That is just great. I love this show.

Whether it be with the type of violence or action or just general writing, it's clear this series is a step above all others, including the first season of this very show. Jon Bernthal is an amazing Punisher, who's dramatic scenes steal the show for entire season. While they are few and far between, you really get the sense of the type of inner conflict he's going through and how much he is really different Daredevil himself and what he allows himself to be. Elodie Yung as Elektra does a very good job as well but the star of this season is easily the Punisher and I hope to see him involved in the future of all these shows on Netflix. It really was a season of growth for all of the characters, even if some of them were left behind a tad towards the end of the season. The story is great up until the last few episodes where things are a bit rushed to get to the conclusion. I lost some interest as well as the season took a different tun around episode 10 that really set up for the conclusion. But the extremely strong beginning and middle pieces are what set this series apart and, if this quality of material is going to be the norm for future seasons, then this will easily be the flagship show for the Marvel-Netflix TV shows. Is there any other superhero movie or television show as dark, gritty and realistic as Daredevil? I think not!

I was hoping it wouldn't go downhill after their first great season. No worry there. Fantastic scripts and acting. Also, I cannot think of one other show whose opening sequence is as cool as this program. The dripping red is incredibly creative.

Each episode seems to have a fair amount of action--in fact, probably about 60% more than the first season. At first I had my doubts about Jon Bernthal portraying Frank Castle but considering how they've written him in this particular series I think he does an excellent job; even though I would have preferred Ray Stevenson in the role as he brought more of a trained soldier feel to the role in War Zone and he looked just like Frank Castiglione from War Zone. I do, however, appreciate that they ramped up the gore and violence for this season--simply because I was worried that they would treat The Punisher like a PG-13 character (see the 2004 version of 'The Punisher'). He brought a lot of dynamics to the ethics of justice vs vigilantism.

If I had a few gripes it's that some of the fighting looked fake and rain makers always look fake--both are pretty minor. The villians aren't exactly as compelling or detailed as the previous season but it also means that this series moves along MUCH quicker! Over all a definite improvement over the first season and I enjoyed that Frank Castle loves his coffee. That was a nice touch. I hope he gets his own show and we get to see him use more tactics than a meathead rage monster approach to offing criminals, his van and Microchip.

Thankfully this was not the case, rather this series has gone on to explore the character of Daredevil and others to such a degree that it's become quite possibly the single greatest adaptation of comic book super heroes to ever hit film; and I don't say that lightly.

While the realism and grit are still present, season 2 here crosses whole-heartedly into film-noir as it's primary aesthetic; with realism being prominent but taking a back seat for style and substance to shine through. You're likely to see women in long flowing gowns when they couldn't reasonably afford them and it would be impractical to wear. Characters smoke and sit in unnaturally lit rooms with light coursing through Venetian blinds at odd angles, or the orange glow of street lighting bleeding through thick stained windows, often for no reason other than style. There are multiple scenes with rolling mist and fog in places where it would be physically impossible for it to exist. Regularly characters will discuss things in the gruff tones of the struggled journalist trying to make it in the cruel world, and everyone seems one coffee away from a nervous breakdown. There's a real sense that the noir theme underpins everything here, even down to the action, and it makes the show all the stronger for it.

Then there's the addition of new characters. The Punisher being the most obvious addition but we'll come to him later. First let's consider the supporting cast, Karen Page is given the ability to show strength and resourcefulness, while also showing vulnerability and her at times, delicate nature, all in equal measures, making her the perfect example of a fully fleshed out female character on TV. Foggy comes into his own, with his scenes in the court room being some of the best acting and most tension filled scenes in the show, and my personal highlight, and finally there's Elektra, a character who's given enough focus to shine without backsliding into the anti-hero role; we finally instead see her as what she is. She's a villain plain and simple. While the search for the "good in her" makes for interesting character dynamics, the fact that she's not just portrayed as the good girl who occasionally does bad things is refreshing and it highlights the main theme of the show which is where you draw your moral line... and with that there's the Punisher.

The Punisher is portrayed perfectly with such a great emphasis on what makes him so dangerous and that's his lack of hesitation when it comes to taking life. The Punisher is genuinely frightening and puts the highlights on the question of as what point an anti-hero becomes as bad as the villains they fight; simultaneously it exposes the hypocrisy of Daredevil and the futility of his approach when it's hamstrung by the moral quandaries faced by Matt Murdock.

Superbly realised this series achieves everything it went out to achieve and is delightful to watch because of this. One of the best TV shows I've seen to date.

Mr. Cox and Elden Hanson, as Foggy, do earnestness well and put across the sometimes dopey dialogue better than you’d have a right to expect. There’s not, however, a lot of wit or shading to their performances--the writing can be blamed, but they could be doing more to amplify it, to make the show more fun. For that, we can turn to Deborah Ann Woll, who jolts the show to life every time she appears as Karen.
