    Starting the new season with a bang to the head. I love they introduce Frank Castle aka The Punisher on Daredevil just like the comics. After 5 episodes, Elektra come along in the series and then everything felt a little flat after that but got a lot better in the last 3 episodes. I highly recommended you try this season.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Yeah, for me it wasn't as good as season 1. This one just felt, I don't know, a little messier maybe? I mean it's still really good but I don't believe it reaches the highs of season 1. It definitely tried to do a lot more than its predecessor and because of that, I believe it backed itself into a corner and overstuffed itself. This season has a god number of plots going on all at once, it has the whole thing with the Hand, it has Elektra coming in, it has the Wilson Fisk tiny subplot, everything with the Punisher and the blacksmith and I just think that it tried to do way too much for a single Daredevil season. The Hand stuff was obviously to set up for The Defenders and everything with the Punisher, while being the best part of the season, was obviously there to set him up for his own spinoff show. It felt like when Age of Ultron stuffed in a bunch of random subplots to set the MCU up for Infinity War and other movies and it ended up feeling unnecessary and unnatural. Daredevil does hand it better than Avengers but without a doubt, I think it ends up becoming jumbled around because of everything going on at once. I preferred the much smaller scale and much more personal first season which mainly focused on just Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk, which is what I think a Daredevil solo show should mainly do - save that bigger scale stuff for The Defenders team up. This season also felt like it dearly missed Kingpin, Nobu isn't anywhere near as good of a villain as Fisk and the Hand, while a serious threat, felt sort of out of place in this story, which honestly should've just focused on Fisk again because him being the main villain is where Daredevil shines the most, he's just that good. The few episodes where Fisk does appear were for sure my favourites this season and I think it just further emphasised the huge gap he was leaving while he wasn't the main antagonist. There was a lot of good this season however. Jon Bernthal as the Punisher was absolutely phenomenal and a great example of a perfect casting. Punisher's subplot and his relationship with both Karen and Daredevil was fantastic and so well done. As I said, the more personal side of the show is where it shines and Punisher definitely brings that aspect to the table this season. Not only does he have his own side plot that's by far the strongest, he also brings out a moral dilemma in Daredevil on the whole no killing rule. Their two ideologies clash throughout the season and it brings a great back and fourth dynamic between the two characters as well as being a more mental challenge for Matt to face as well as the more physically taxing obstacle that the Hand puts in his way. Elektra was great too, her relationship with Matt was really well done and takes his moral dilemma even further. It also means that this season we get to explore Matt's past a little more, with both Stick and Elektra as well as Foggy. This seasons' strongest parts were when it chose to focus on Matt and the personal challenges he faces rather than the bigger picture threats that honestly should've just been lightly teased and saved for The Defenders. Punisher alone would've made a great antihero antagonist for Daredevil to overcome and if the show would've just paired Punisher's storyline alongside Kingpin's, they could've crafted something a little less messy and more personal to Matt. In my opinion, I think that's what would've made season 2 better than the first for me. Although some prefer the bigger scale more comic book-y stuff so this is really more just personal preference, I just would've rather had them cut down on a lot of stuff and has them focus more closely on just Matt and Frank with Wilson Fisk working from the shadows in prison. But oh well, I am looking forward to seeing what they've done in season 3 since I've heard that it's less of this season and more of the first, so I'm really excited for that when I get around to it. I did really like the suit this season though, that and the fact that Daredevil's billy club shows up finally is fantastic and it's the comic book stuff I really like to see. All that's left is for Fisk to return with his classic white suit and I'll be happy with that and a more personal story for season 3. Super excited. Overall, season 2 is still good it just chooses to focus too much on bigger picture stuff and tries to do too much to the point where the season feels cluttered up. However, the smaller scale stuff this season was fantastic and the way they handled Frank Castle and Elektra as well as their relationships with Matt was really great. I like this season, it's just a little below the first for me. Still great though, and miles ahead of a lot of other superhero shows I've seen before.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Daredevil season 2 is almost as good as season 1 was. The acting, action and dialogue remain just as strong as they were in the first season. The story and villain are where this season falters a bit from season 1. In season 2, the story gets more complicated since there are multiple plotlines going on and it can be a bit difficult to keep track of everything once the season really gets going. The season manages to balance these plotlines decently enough, but it can get confusing at times. The bigger issue with this season is the villain. Unlike season 1, Fisk isn’t the primary villain this time, although he does appear in the season. Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle is a bit of a villain, but the true antagonist is the organization called The Hand. Bernthal does a fine job portraying Castle and embodies the violent nature of the character very well. While Castle starts off as the show’s villain, he becomes overshadowed by The Hand. Unfortunately, neither villain lives up to the bar set by Fisk, causing season 2 to feel like a bit of a letdown from season 1 despite The Hand being a better antagonist than Castle is. The season mostly recovers from this and gives us an ending that nicely culminates all the plotlines and lays the foundation for future storytelling and development. DD season 2 may not be as good as season 1 is, but it still has its merits and is worth watching if you’re a fan of the character.… Expand

    I think they put two seasons together here. It’s a good season overall but this feels like they were setting up the Punisher for his own show. He’s a complicated villain but also you can argue he was a complicated hero. He’s on the same side as Matt but his actions are villainous.

    I’m going to give this a good score but the best villain is Fist and having him caged away not out doing whatever he wants is to the detriment of the show. Still a must watch series but hasn’t hit the heights we know it could with this season.    … Expand

    Daredevil is pretty much it's own Spiderman 2 as Matt Murdock deals with the challenge of living a double life as you can see as the series goes,parts of his life start getting demolished because of it and this was interesting as you got to see the way how he handled it.The action was of-course epic,during the first episodes there isn't a lot of action but as you go deeper the action is amped up as you get to see Daredvil take on ninjas and i don't see anything better than that, also with the addition of Punisher and Elektra fight scenes are more brutal and bloody and you're just entertained throughout.

    With a new season comes new characters like Frank Castle(The Punisher) and Elektra,both these characters were good and brought different elements to the show.Jon bernthal's Punisher was a nice addition because he challenged Daredevil philosophy about not killing criminal's and you get to understand both characters reason's for they different ideologies which was really interesting because Daredevil really struggled through this arc the entire season.The Punisher also had his own story arc this season as the main focus was on the Death of his family and getting revenge,there was an upside and downside to this.The upside was for the first time you felt sympathy for The Punisher which the movies could never do,i mean this character is brutal,bashful and just plain violent but Daredevil brings a certain humanity to Frank Castle and this was aided by Jon bernthal's performance as he acted the part nicely.Now the downside was Frank Castle's arc began to die down as the next episodes start to come along because his story starts to get a little longer than it's supposed to be and it just starts dragging on and on and comes to a dissatisfying conclusion after investing so much into this character and his full transformation into The Punisher is shoehorned in and feels out of place.

    Another addition was Elodie Yung's Elektra,when Elektra is first introduced to the show she brought up this new vibe to the show,The chemistry between Matt Murdock and Elektra is really good and their relationship is one of the strongest elements in Season 2.Elektra brings a fun element to the show as she brings wit and a certain fun danger.Elektra's arc was also interesting(more interesting than The Punisher) as she teams up with Daredevil to face The Hand(Season 2 villains),and although The Hand weren't as good a villain as Wilson Fisk, the Hand made the show more comic-booky and soft of mystical element, and for a show as grounded as Daredevil it was good for them to pull it off even though some things were rather confusing and never really resolved.

    The Supporting characters like Karen Paige,Nelson Foggy also have their own story arcs with Karen dealing this consequences of Season 1,romance with Daredevil and an involvement with The Punisher and Foggy dealing with being his friendship with Matt and challenges with their Law firm,these were equally satisfying stories and well deserved as they don't take a back seat to all that's happening around them although Karen's story with the punisher drags on sometimes.

    Now the pacing,man this show took it's time on certain things and it became rather boring at times as the slow pace killed the show's momentum at time as there wouldn't be any character developments at all just people talking and talking and talking which became BORING,this was also a problem with Season1 but thankfully the show's pace picks up during the last few episodes.Also i find it frustrating that a show called Daredevil can hold back on the comic book/superhero element,it is understandable that the show can focus on human elements but that becomes tedious as the show didn't show enough Daredevil during the first episodes and this was really frustrating for a series based on a comic book.

    So Daredevil Season 2 for me was a good,enjoyable season,it was better action,more interesting characters,nice story arc and new and mysterious villains that kept me excited thought it had pacing problems and sometimes it was just plain BORING, that didn't ruin the Season and i can't wait for Season 3.    … Expand

Season 2 of Daredevil is a real tonal pasting mess. Its not, by any means necessary, bad, in fact its still pretty fantastic compared to most tv shows out their. But their are some serious issues in this season.

    Firstly the    Right, many people have been absolutely prasing this season. Calling it stronger, better and more complex then the first. To those people, i sadly have to disagree. Season 2 of Daredevil is a real tonal pasting mess. Its not, by any means necessary, bad, in fact its still pretty fantastic compared to most tv shows out their. But their are some serious issues in this season.

    Firstly the whole thing really does just feel like a cock-tease for The Punisher, which isn't really that bad because the show really does an excellent job at setting up the character and really making you feel for such a broken character. But it all does just feel like a set up.

    My biggest complaint really with this season though is just the whole Electra story-line that really does become the meat of the seasons. Its incredibly slow, sluggish and just gets in the way of the whole Punisher story-line that was just much more exciting and interesting to watch. But otherwise I really did enjoy Electra as a character, the actor was absolutely fantastic, sadly the writing and set up just didn't really pay off for this season.

    I also really wish this season had more religious aspects to it, much like in the first, and really focused more on the eternal struggle of Matt Murdock being pushed to the limit, especially with the likes of the Punisher, I also really wish the story took more time to develop with slowly build up instead of feeling like it had to rush through all these plot points. Like more character dynamic and focus would have been nice.

    But overall its a great show, I highly recommend watching the second season because it is still superb tv and hopefully the next season will basically solve all my issues. Can't wait for the net season.    … Expand

However, the final episode was kind of a letdown for me. That's not to say that it was bad, but it still didn't quite live up to everything that season two managed to build up beforehand.

    Still, season two had a lot of things going for it. All the characters that I liked in season one were great here as well: Matt, Stick and Fisk. Foggy and Karen had a lot of screen time and received tons of development which felt satisfying for the most part. Additionally, Claire's and Hogarth's returns were a nice touch. The characters that joined in season two were very solid: Elektra and especially Frank Castle.

    The performances were overall enjoyable, with Bernthal doing an exceptional job as the Punisher. I appreciated the cinematography and musical score this season as well.

    Overall, this was still a good run, and I'm definitely sticking around for the next season.    … Expand

It's such a shame, though, that this show devolves so rapidly and falls apart into a hot mess of plots and subplots, and constant introduction of characters to build us up to further series and spin-offs. It's such a shame, though, that this show devolves so rapidly and falls apart into a hot mess of plots and subplots, and constant introduction of characters to build us up to further series and spin-offs. Unfortunately, despite the first season actually having weight and maturity in the presentation of its characters and their issues, it fell into the classic superhero trap of "invincible superhero beats X amount of goons with little to no effort", while also filling the classic Marvel Studios quota of setting as much up as possible.
    The acting, is on the whole alright, with Jon Bernthal giving the most memorable and 3 Dimensional rendition of The Punisher to date, and it's such a shame when his character arc begins to feel forced to its disappointing anticlimax. Élodie Yung plays the arrogant assassin Elektra, and though a damned sight better than the 2004 presentation, the character gets annoying before too long. As for the rest of the characters, I suppose they're all just about the same as before. Murdoch loses his charm somewhat, but still Foggy Nelson is goofy and Karen Page is the loveable mother-figure, whose romantic inclinations felt natural. In fact, Deborah Ann Woll's consistent performance between both seasons is worthy of praise.

    The big bad gets a bit muddled, as the lines between main plot and subplot get blurred midway through the series, and unfortunately, it ends up being the more faceless, generic villain that ends up getting the big spot, and this is what leads to the aforementioned boring, vapid fight scenes, involving droves of supposed armed martial arts experts getting beaten up effortlessly by the protagonist. Such a shame. What's even more of a shame though is the squandered potential of the Punisher storyline's conclusion being pushed to a mere afterthought, where his moral dilemma is far more interesting than the contrived main villain's interests. The big bad organisation's costumes became comically (and not meaning the source material) low quality, and the supernatural elements made me feel like I was watching a hammy superhero TV show from The CW.

    In the end, I'm just left saddened by the state in which it ended; and while there were some strong performances, some memorable action set pieces, and my favourite Punisher so far; the squandered potential to create something that was overall memorable and original, perhaps along a similar vein to the first series, really disappointed. 5/10    … Expand

    That may sound scathing, but this season actually has a lot going for it.The entire Punisher story line was rock solid and was worth the watch alone. This character knows exactly who he is and never feels forced to be anything else. The Elektra story line starts out the same way but gets bogged down along the way. Hopefully her character can be redeemed in the future as there is great potential there that wasn't realized. The action is also first rate but gets stale when you always know what is going to happen next.

    I absolutely love the atmosphere of the show and only wish it followed through on the grittiness it conveys. I ranked this favorably only because I think they are one clever (and inspired) writer away of having the best superhero show on TV.    … Expand

However I found myself getting bored and not caring about the Hand/Elektra story. I just wanted to see more Punisher.     The Punisher arc was brilliant as Jon Bernthal killing it in the role of Frank Castle. Fight sequences were one of a kind for any TV show.     The romance arc between Murdock and Karen felt a little forced in my opinion.

    The return of Fisk was perhaps one of the strongest moments in the entire season and very much anticipating his return in the next season. (Hopefully with a lot more Kingpin this time around)

    The characters are nailed perfectly. The fights are the kind you wish you could see in the movies or tv. Writing is mixed but at least it has its moments unlike many shows where you often don't even get that.

    The setup for the Punisher is great. The trial is a letdown although it starts to pick up with Fisk, a welcome sight at that point in the season. But as the Punisher escapes, so does his storyline and any meaningful conclusions. I think the most disappointing thing in this regard was not tying the Punisher to the Hand somehow. Both main plots didn't come together. The Punisher's aid at the end makes little sense and has little impact. Any reaction from him finding out the Daredevil's identity is missing (he used a scope on an unmasked Daredevil). Also, the Punisher's characterization seemed to flounder a bit. I'd love to see him get his own show though.

    Daredevil himself? I didn't see much progression. He remains fearless and sticks to his code of ethics even if he starts to waver with Elektra. The tearing apart of his personal life might have had more impact if the other two of his firm had some clue of what was going on. Is Foggy that much of a dope?

    Page remains Lois Lane with no real clue of what is driving her to such lengths. It got tiring seeing her storyline to be honest. Any real payoff doesn't come til the end and that's left to future seasons.

    I'll agree with others that the fights with the ninjas got tiring after awhile. The whole war thing didn't really pay off. Daredevil or rather Matt's character suffered. I haven't understood why he's a lawyer. He doesn't seem to be very passionate about it. There's still something missing as to what drives him to be Daredevil. I like to fight and I can help these people just isn't enough. At least with the Punisher, his drive for vengeance is understandable.

    All in all, I can't help but feel Daredevil remains a weak character requiring the biggest leap of faith when it comes to seeing him in action. So much focus on Page and Foggy in their professions but not enough on Matt, who with his abilities, should be the one sought after (he's a human lie detector). Foggy is a joke coming off like a kid out of college at that interview.    … Expand

    The relationship between Charlie and Electra is interesting, but for me The Punisher steals the show. I'm a big Punisher fan, but you know, the real one: the Garth Ennis version. Jon Bernthal is great as the big man, except that, well, he isn't a big man and The Punisher is huge. Also, Bernthal's version comes across as a traumatised war veteran: Rambo 1, if you will. The real Punisher is a cold and calculating machine, not an emotional wreck, just a regular sociopath. But hey, at least a version is on-screen and the version Jon does is done well.

    The actual main threat for this season is pretty underwhelming and takes a backseat to all that's going on with Mr Punisher and Charlie, Ms Electra and Charlie etc.

    All in all, another really entertaining season. Perhaps, it would've fared a little better with either the Punisher or Electra and a stronger main story.    … Expand

    There was a much better Daredevil this season, the fighting scenes had much better choreography and there was a noticeable improvement over the former model. The actors also had settled into their roles improving and it made for easier vewing.

    Sadly my disappoint comes from after the roller coaster of the opening 3 episodes the next 6 go nowhere fizzling out into utter nothingness.    There was a much better Daredevil this season, the fighting scenes had much better choreography and there was a noticeable improvement over the former model. The actors also had settled into their roles improving and it made for easier vewing.

    Sadly my disappoint comes from after the roller coaster of the opening 3 episodes the next 6 go nowhere fizzling out into utter nothingness. Building with all the puttie filler, blah bladdie blah. Where you can literally count the 1 odd minute of superheroness weighted against the other hour of boring nothingness, as it plods off into getting to know all about its other soap opera. We are watching a comic. A comic doesn't fug off into its drama, there much of a life story written out into a novel where the words fill up the comicbook pages, otherwise it just ain't the comics. Just because the Punisher got a little bit of punishment doesn't mean there was like nothing else left to do, so instead you bore us too death with all that other falalala. Fast-forward. We aren't watching no f'ing superhero series for it's drama, so when will you learn how to adapt them? Hint watch Banshee and maybe your getting closer...    … Expand

    Me and my buddies all binged watched this together, we were all disappointed. If I wanted to watch a bad romance movie staring Daredevil I would have watched the Ben Afflick version of the movie from back in the day. I guess the days of Netflix being like HBO is over and the days of major network producers and marketing teams invading it original programs have begun. Super bummed thatMe and my buddies all binged watched this together, we were all disappointed. If I wanted to watch a bad romance movie staring Daredevil I would have watched the Ben Afflick version of the movie from back in the day. I guess the days of Netflix being like HBO is over and the days of major network producers and marketing teams invading it original programs have begun. Super bummed that after a year of waiting this is what Netflix released. Boo on you Netflix for letting this happen.

    I'm not saying season two does not have its moments. Parts of it are cool but - from my point of view - it doesn't add up and frankly the whole thing is kind of a mess. Besides I've gotten tired of 'How far can a hero go', 'what defines a hero' and stories like that. Honestly I expect more than that from a good TV-show. And still the writers are lucky to have such a great cast that makesI'm not saying season two does not have its moments.     Long stretches of torture porn punctuated by an under-developed courtroom drama.

    We get it, it's Netflix so you can be as graphic and bloody as you want, but watching the same fatal injuries episode after episode gets to be a bit much and a lot boring. It's not even clever most of the time. I honestly didn't care by episode 10. It was just blah and I stopped watching.

    Daredevil himself continues to be fantastic and interesting and there's no more derpy kid flashbacks! Not only that, but the new characters Punisher and Elektra were also pretty great and all the character moments were believable thanks to the fine acting. The action is mostly exciting and there's a fantastic one-take scene at one point just like in the first season.

Some episodes feel like complete filler, just unnecessary exposition and some episodes have constant plot movement that moves on too fast.     Elektrayı bir kenara atarsak -ondan özel olarak bahsedeceğim- bu sezondaki Daredevil'ı da daha çok sevdim. Karakterinin geliştiğini net bir şekilde görebiliyoruz. Açıkçası yeteneklerininde geliştiğini söylemek isterdim fakat bu sezondaki dövüş koreografileri ilk sezona kıyasla gayet sıradan. Birbini tekrar eden dövüş sahnelerini görmek bir hayli mümkün ve hiçbir dövüş sahnesi ilk sezonun 2.bölümündeki etkiyi vermiyor. Her ne kadar Oldboy filmindeki kadar iyi bir tek çekim dövüş sahnesi olmasa da bu konuda 2.olmaya adaydı. Bu sezonda da tek çekimmiş gibi gösterilmeye çalışılan bir sahne vardı fakat oldukça sıradandı. Açıkçası bu sahnede sıkıldım.
    Gelelim Elektraya, sezonumuzu mahveden karaktere. Tek kelimeyle özetliyecek olsam yapmacık derdim fakat yapmacık demek yetersiz kalır. Çünkü hikâyeyi mahvediyor. İlk önce diziye büyük bir klişe ile dahil oluyor. "Hikâyeye bir kadın girer, ana karakterin ilişkilerini alt üst eder." Diziye bu şekilde dahil olduktan sonra sıradan planlar ve dövüş sahneleri de birbirini takip ederken düşündüğüm tek şey "Punisher biraz daha gözüksün." oldu. Punisher'ın hikâyesi de bir yandan ilerliyor fakat ufak ufak. Ufakta olsa sezonu çekilebilir bir hale getiriyor çünkü Elektra gerçekten vasat bir karakter olmuş. Kendinden çok daha fazla güçlü olan Daredevil'dan dayağı yedikten sonra başka bir bölümde Daredevil'a "Çekil yoksa seni de öldürürüm." demesi oldukça komikti. Ayrıca şunu açıkca söyleyebilirim ki dizinin son bir kaç bölümüne kadar Elektra sahnelerini atlarsanız hiçbir kaybınız olmaz. Çünkü Elektra romantizm ve fanservis katmaktan öteye gidemiyor. Çocukça ben kötüyüm tavırlarını takınırken, bir yandan da iyiymiş gibi davranmaya çalışılıyor. Suikastçi olarak eğitilen bir kızın bu tür davranış bozuklarına neden sahip olduğu gösterilmediği için davranışları çok yapmacık geliyor.
    Bu sezonda karakter gelişimi sadece Daredevil göstermiyor. Karen Page, Nelson, Sgt. Brett ve hatta Wilson Fisk bile gösteriyor. Hepsi kendilerini belli konularda kanıtlıyor ve bu tatmin edici fakat bir Elektra kadar rol kaplamıyorlar. Bu sebepten dolayı Elektra her şekilde göze çarpıyor ve sıradan hikâyesini bize izlettiriyor.

    I was completely hooked after the first season of Daredevil. It really hooked me with it's style, brilliant combat scenes, and acting. So I was a bit confused after watching the first two episodes of this season. It just didn't have the gritty, mysterious feeling of the first season. After watching the rest I really just started to get sick of Foggy and Karen's characters, as cute andI was completely hooked after the first season of Daredevil.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The first season was mesmerizing, in large part due to the fact that the on-screen drama was just as electrifying as the action. Scenes were filled with palpable tension and real emotion. I rated it 5 stars on Netflix without compunction.

    This season was kind of a hot mess. The first problem was that they divided this season in half and it resulted in ridiculous mood whiplash. The first half was a gritty crime drama that questioned what it was to be a hero and how vigilantism helped/hurt the community. Then suddenly the second half was about zombie ninjas and a HORRIBLY shoehorned love story plotline.

    I believe that either of these arcs could have worked if they had been given their own season. They could have focused on making the between-fight scenes as gripping as in the first season instead of rushing into poor resolutions so they could move on to the next mediocre plot point. Although the writing of the Elektra half was much weaker. That could have used a lot of work.

    The cinematography and imagination weren't there in spades like they were in season 1 either. Don't get me wrong, there were some amazing shots, but those were balanced out with fight scenes that were too dark or scenes that were too long and plodding for no real gain.

    Frank Castle was probably the most interesting character of the season, and I honestly think the series would have been better off if they had used him as the main character for this one since Matt's character had little/no impact or gravitas in what was happening. He just kind of reacted to stuff.

    Karen and Foggy took character development, although Karen's transition into reporter was a bit ham-fisted. It's always good to see Stick. The DA was a joke, super cliche lines and situations. Elektra was... a mixed bag at best. Her lack of compunction for killing would have been an interesting counterpoint to Daredevil... except they already explored that with Frank Castle, so it was double-dipping. The scenes with Fisk were of course excellent, as D'onofrio reprises his role with the same brilliance as Season 1. Claire Temple, who was electrifying in Season 1, is given a complete nonsense side plot that does not even come close to showcasing her talent.

    It all led up to the giant pile that was the final episode. Random catchphrases about focusing and heroism, a horribly misplaced and completely out of character scene between Elektra and Matt with him willing to renounce New York for her (despite the fact that she sickened him not two episodes earlier), a ludicrous fight scene against a ton of ninjas with the cops just kind of sitting around (and not watching, apparently, as Stick just walked past). Daredevil's problems with killing kind of dissolve and Elektra and Frank murder numerous ninjas without so much as a finger wag from Matt. I guess when the chips are down killing is just fine, as long as he is just watching? Then end it with a weird misplaced soliloquy from Karen in the guise of an article that "only she can write" about the nature of heroism, that really would have been much more at home during the Punisher-focused episodes, and really had no personal edge at all, just platitudes and vagaries.

    In the end, the action was there (beating the crap out of an entire biker gang was pretty amazing) but the drama was not. Matt's character just kind of reacted to things, while everyone else in Hell's Kitchen took the horns. Hopefully Season 3 will have much better focus and cause me to bring Daredevil's rating back up to a 5 again... though that ship may have permanently sailed now.    … Expand

It was enjoyable and well paced. Season 2 is all over the place, It's not very well paced, It doesn't know what it wants to achieve it seems. It lacks direction. The main weakness is Electra.     But then thats already been explored with the Punisher, a fighter for justice who goes too far and with the morality of going to far being already explored between these two it makes the later relationship between Electra and Murdock feel very weak, the only difference being a romantic past. As she annoys and irritates Murdock she annoys and irritates the audience as well, there is very little beyond this and that is a shame. She needed something else to make her likeable in some way.    … Expand

To keep the action going, like a metronome keeping time, a new army of ninjas will show up to get their butt kicked in all their acrobatic glory. Instead we get multiple origin stories and a general feeling that some bad guys are out there doing bad things.

    The season is definitely worth a watch and the middle part is enjoyable. Just know that the beginning is a bit slow and the end is unsatisfying. If I didn't know better I say that "the management committee" meddled with the plot in order to set up as many spin off series as possible. The irony of season 2 is that is fails where the Netflix model is suppose to show its strength. Instead of using the certainty of a full season and the ability of viewers to binge watch to tell a full and complete story, season 2 comes off as a potpourri of half thought out ideas.    … Expand

In season 2, much of this is replaced with emotional garbage. Yes, the "Punisher" is developed a little more, but this shouldn't be ultimately about him.

    What Daredevil wants to communicate before facing certain death on the rooftop is that "if they face it together everything might be ok?" What happened to the moral compass, to the greater Power, and the ultimate cause of good triumphing over evil? Also, Daredevil has no words to say at Electra's death? Did she die for nothing? If he has lost his way, then who can distinguish right from wrong, good from evil, truth from error?

    Get back Daredevils edge, or the show tanks!

Otherwise, all Daredevil-centric non-Punisher-related content in it is perfectly skippable. DD's fights are just as stupid as in S1.     Ultimately, Petrie and Ramirez created a season that fully understands Daredevil's strengths and plays to them accordingly. But this second installment is underwritten, and has failed to build on the show's fine first season.

    Mr. Cox and Elden Hanson, as Foggy, do earnestness well and put across the sometimes dopey dialogue better than you’d have a right to expect. There’s not, however, a lot of wit or shading to their performances--the writing can be blamed, but they could be doing more to amplify it, to make the show more fun. For that, we can turn to Deborah Ann Woll, who jolts the show to life every time she appears as Karen.
