This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. With the introduction of fellow vigilantes Frank Castle and Elektra (characters that will be well known to comic book fans) alongside the multiple plot threads that run throughout these thirteen episodes there was a danger that Daredevil's second season could have been a bit of a mess. Fortunately however that is far from being the case and the writers have done a great job of juggling each story-line as well as fully developing the each of the characters. The action scenes, although perhaps too violent for some, are also excellent and just as good as anything you'll see on the big screen (the fight with the biker gang in the stairwell was just phenomenal).

I didn't think this show would improve on its great first season but, if you ask me, it has done just that.

It's just really, really bad. The whole arch with Daredevil in Electra is...meh. Season is bloated with character introductions and villains that are only ok. Fairly forgettable.

A world class franchise Netflix could make this into.

who knows even the Punisher will have its own series starting next year, and there will also be the combined Marvel thing with Daredevil, Luke Cage & Jessica Jones. Cheers to all involved in creating this series, its been extremely satisfying. Upwards and onwards with this! You can see its potential in continuing to grow bigger in years to come.

While Murdock plays dress up, The Punisher, Elektra and Stick get the job done. Wilson Fisk and all other characters are far more interesting and charismatic than the Daredevil. This season is better than the first season but Murdock-Daredevil belong on a PG rated TV show.

There was a much better Daredevil this season, the fighting scenes had much better choreography and there was a noticeable improvement over the former model. The actors also had settled into their roles improving and it made for easier vewing.

Sadly my disappoint comes from after the roller coaster of the opening 3 episodes the next 6 go nowhere fizzling out into utter nothingness.

Sadly my disappoint comes from after the roller coaster of the opening 3 episodes the next 6 go nowhere fizzling out into utter nothingness. Building with all the puttie filler, blah bladdie blah. Where you can literally count the 1 odd minute of superheroness weighted against the other hour of boring nothingness, as it plods off into getting to know all about its other soap opera. We are watching a comic. A comic doesn't fug off into its drama, there much of a life story written out into a novel where the words fill up the comicbook pages, otherwise it just ain't the comics. Just because the Punisher got a little bit of punishment doesn't mean there was like nothing else left to do, so instead you bore us too death with all that other falalala. Fast-forward. We aren't watching no f'ing superhero series for it's drama, so when will you learn how to adapt them? Hint watch Banshee and maybe your getting closer...

With season 1 frankly without peer in what can best be described as vigilante-noir, there was a very real risk that season 2 would screw the pouch and leave us feeling like the show would have been better left at it's strong but teasing end in season 1. Thankfully this was not the case, rather this series has gone on to explore the character of Daredevil and others to such a degree that it's become quite possibly the single greatest adaptation of comic book super heroes to ever hit film; and I don't say that lightly.

While the realism and grit are still present, season 2 here crosses whole-heartedly into film-noir as it's primary aesthetic; with realism being prominent but taking a back seat for style and substance to shine through. You're likely to see women in long flowing gowns when they couldn't reasonably afford them and it would be impractical to wear. Characters smoke and sit in unnaturally lit rooms with light coursing through Venetian blinds at odd angles, or the orange glow of street lighting bleeding through thick stained windows, often for no reason other than style. There are multiple scenes with rolling mist and fog in places where it would be physically impossible for it to exist. Regularly characters will discuss things in the gruff tones of the struggled journalist trying to make it in the cruel world, and everyone seems one coffee away from a nervous breakdown. There's a real sense that the noir theme underpins everything here, even down to the action, and it makes the show all the stronger for it.

Then there's the addition of new characters. The Punisher being the most obvious addition but we'll come to him later. First let's consider the supporting cast, Karen Page is given the ability to show strength and resourcefulness, while also showing vulnerability and her at times, delicate nature, all in equal measures, making her the perfect example of a fully fleshed out female character on TV. Foggy comes into his own, with his scenes in the court room being some of the best acting and most tension filled scenes in the show, and my personal highlight, and finally there's Elektra, a character who's given enough focus to shine without backsliding into the anti-hero role; we finally instead see her as what she is. She's a villain plain and simple. While the search for the "good in her" makes for interesting character dynamics, the fact that she's not just portrayed as the good girl who occasionally does bad things is refreshing and it highlights the main theme of the show which is where you draw your moral line... and with that there's the Punisher.

The Punisher is portrayed perfectly with such a great emphasis on what makes him so dangerous and that's his lack of hesitation when it comes to taking life. The Punisher is genuinely frightening and puts the highlights on the question of as what point an anti-hero becomes as bad as the villains they fight; simultaneously it exposes the hypocrisy of Daredevil and the futility of his approach when it's hamstrung by the moral quandaries faced by Matt Murdock.

Superbly realised this series achieves everything it went out to achieve and is delightful to watch because of this. One of the best TV shows I've seen to date.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'm not sure whether I like season 2 of Daredevil more than the first season or not. There are so many great moments scatted through these 13 episodes. Some of the scenes in this show are so well executed and when this show is its best I think its is probably the best thing Marvel studio has done. Daredevil continues to have great action with well realistic stunts. The Punisher proved to be a great addition and Jon Bernthal gave us the defining portrayal of the character to this point. I found myself completely consumed by Frank Castle and Karen Page, who are my two favorite characters in the show currently. I know some people don't like Foggy Nelson but I find him to be a very enjoyable character as well. The character is meant to represent us. The one big issue I have with this season is that when Wilson Fisk shows up from episode 8-10 the show is really elevated and those episodes are the best of the season. It made me feel like the last few episodes were a little less superior and even though the finale was good I don't think it was better than the first season's finale. The Defenders series will likely be released before we get a season 3 of Daredevil but this show managed to live up to the hype. I hope they can get Wilson Fisk more involved again in Season 3. Almost like they had a checklist of fights and confrontations they had to fit into the script and cobbled it together the best they could. In a word, the writing was uninspired.

That may sound scathing, but this season actually has a lot going for it.The entire Punisher story line was rock solid and was worth the watch alone. This character knows exactly who he is and never feels forced to be anything else. The Elektra story line starts out the same way but gets bogged down along the way. Hopefully her character can be redeemed in the future as there is great potential there that wasn't realized. The action is also first rate but gets stale when you always know what is going to happen next.

I absolutely love the atmosphere of the show and only wish it followed through on the grittiness it conveys. I ranked this favorably only because I think they are one clever (and inspired) writer away of having the best superhero show on TV.

But what completely kills the whole binge-watch element though is the stupidly uneven pacing. Some episodes feel like complete filler, just unnecessary exposition and some episodes have constant plot movement that moves on too fast. Marvel seriously needs to cut the dumbass 13 episode rule and focus on what matters.

Gelelim Elektraya, sezonumuzu mahveden karaktere.

I find her irritating, her character just doesn't work for me. She is supposed to be a foil for Murdock, a character who goes too far, the darker side of Daredevil himself in some ways.

But then thats already been explored with the Punisher, a fighter for justice who goes too far and with the morality of going to far being already explored between these two it makes the later relationship between Electra and Murdock feel very weak, the only difference being a romantic past. As she annoys and irritates Murdock she annoys and irritates the audience as well, there is very little beyond this and that is a shame. She needed something else to make her likeable in some way.

The romance arc between Murdock and Karen felt a little forced in my opinion.

The return of Fisk was perhaps one of the strongest moments in the entire season and very much anticipating his return in the next season. (Hopefully with a lot more Kingpin this time around)

The setup for the Punisher is great. The trial is a letdown although it starts to pick up with Fisk, a welcome sight at that point in the season. But as the Punisher escapes, so does his storyline and any meaningful conclusions. I think the most disappointing thing in this regard was not tying the Punisher to the Hand somehow. Both main plots didn't come together. The Punisher's aid at the end makes little sense and has little impact. Any reaction from him finding out the Daredevil's identity is missing (he used a scope on an unmasked Daredevil). Also, the Punisher's characterization seemed to flounder a bit. I'd love to see him get his own show though.

Daredevil himself? I didn't see much progression. He remains fearless and sticks to his code of ethics even if he starts to waver with Elektra. The tearing apart of his personal life might have had more impact if the other two of his firm had some clue of what was going on. Is Foggy that much of a dope?

Page remains Lois Lane with no real clue of what is driving her to such lengths. It got tiring seeing her storyline to be honest. Any real payoff doesn't come til the end and that's left to future seasons.

I'll agree with others that the fights with the ninjas got tiring after awhile. The whole war thing didn't really pay off. Daredevil or rather Matt's character suffered. I haven't understood why he's a lawyer. He doesn't seem to be very passionate about it. There's still something missing as to what drives him to be Daredevil. I like to fight and I can help these people just isn't enough. At least with the Punisher, his drive for vengeance is understandable.

All in all, I can't help but feel Daredevil remains a weak character requiring the biggest leap of faith when it comes to seeing him in action. So much focus on Page and Foggy in their professions but not enough on Matt, who with his abilities, should be the one sought after (he's a human lie detector). Foggy is a joke coming off like a kid out of college at that interview.

The relationship between Charlie and Electra is interesting, but for me The Punisher steals the show. I'm a big Punisher fan, but you know, the real one: the Garth Ennis version. Jon Bernthal is great as the big man, except that, well, he isn't a big man and The Punisher is huge. Also, Bernthal's version comes across as a traumatised war veteran: Rambo 1, if you will. The real Punisher is a cold and calculating machine, not an emotional wreck, just a regular sociopath. But hey, at least a version is on-screen and the version Jon does is done well.

The actual main threat for this season is pretty underwhelming and takes a backseat to all that's going on with Mr Punisher and Charlie, Ms Electra and Charlie etc.

All in all, another really entertaining season. Perhaps, it would've fared a little better with either the Punisher or Electra and a stronger main story.

Chris Cox embodies the character of Daredevil and Matthew Murdock seamlessly. Also, this series gives us the best Punisher to date. Overall, it is a must watch for all lovers of Daredevil.

Wow! Just WOW! Even better! Even the plot was somewhat scattered throughout the series to give way for character introduction, they still nailed it! The Punisher is great. Great performance from Jon Bernthal. I can't wait for another season!

The working class hero from Hell´s Kitchen comes back with new challenges and dillemas; particullarly the increasingly heavy secret of his double identity. The addition of The Punisher and Elektra increase the curiosity of viewer.

Ultimately, Petrie and Ramirez created a season that fully understands Daredevil's strengths and plays to them accordingly. But this second installment is underwritten, and has failed to build on the show's fine first season.

Mr. Cox and Elden Hanson, as Foggy, do earnestness well and put across the sometimes dopey dialogue better than you’d have a right to expect. There’s not, however, a lot of wit or shading to their performances--the writing can be blamed, but they could be doing more to amplify it, to make the show more fun. For that, we can turn to Deborah Ann Woll, who jolts the show to life every time she appears as Karen.

I admire the series without being very engaged by it, but I can certainly see why you might get more hooked on it.
