    A brilliant continuation of Peggy Carters story set in the Marvel cinematic universe, with strength and depth in the acting (Hayley Atwell and James Darcy shine) and the setting. Top marks go the the props and design department as they fully capture the feel of the late 40's early 50's

    Lots of action, good storyline, very good acting. Based in the 1940's and really does a good job in giving capturing that 1940's feel. Much better overall than Agents of Shield.

    Agent Carter is a witty and kick-ass espionage/period show. It has very high production values, and the costume/set department should be proud of their work. The show is very stylish and pleasant because of the attire the actors wear & the set pieces that their characters inhabit. Peggy Carter is a strong role model, and it's nice to see a capable woman in the MCU (and we may get another,Agent Carter is a witty and kick-ass espionage/period show. It has very high production values, and the costume/set department should be proud of their work. The show is very stylish and pleasant because of the attire the actors wear & the set pieces that their characters inhabit. Peggy Carter is a strong role model, and it's nice to see a capable woman in the MCU (and we may get another, a superheroine when “Captain Marvel” releases).

    The men of “Agent Carter” were unbelievably sexist and ignorant in the first 2 or 3 episodes, and at times it made you wonder if all the men were dumbed-down idiots simply for Carter to seem much more capable in comparison. However, I think the episodes "The Blitzkrieg Button" and "The Iron Ceiling" are big examples of the show’s improvement in that regard. Peggy's boss (Chief Dooley) and co-workers (Jack Thompson and Daniel Sousa) all get some memorable dialogue on-screen and some character-driven moments.

    To be honest, I think that Hayley Atwell still needs more emotional expression to her character, as Peggy mostly has the same facial expression (with slight variations) all the time. Also, I think the following may be true to a certain extent--Peggy's character growth is limited by the fact that she's obligated to set a standard for women in a male-dominated genre, industry, and Cinematic Universe. Because of Carter constantly having to prove herself, Peggy's only real struggles are against rampant sexism. Peg doesn't really have any big weaknesses or character flaws, which makes her feel a bit unrelatable at times. "The closest she comes to being flawed is crying over pictures of Steve Rogers and going through the five thousandth iteration of the 'It’s dangerous to get too close to me,' superhero story arc."

    Nevertheless, Hayley Atwell convincingly plays Agent Carter at her best--very confident, capable, and strong. James D’Arcy is a charming character, with his accent and his mannerisms. It is funny to see him begrudgingly tag along with Peg on various dangerous exploits. Howard Stark (played by Dominic Cooper) is an amigable and boisterous playboy, just like his son Tony Stark.The other cast members are fun as well.

    I think some Marvel fans will find it interesting to see more lore and MCU characters from the past (during the 1940’s, to be specific). Agent Carter has a very good opportunity to explore certain things in the the MCU’s history, which I feel the show has yet to fully capitalize on. Peggy is one of the most influential women in the MCU--appearing in Captain America 1 & 2, Agents of SHIELD, a Marvel One-Shot, and The Avengers 2. She also has ties to Hank Pym (the first Ant-Man) in the MCU. Yet the "Agent Carter" show has her struggling to gain respect from her peers. I feel that the show would've been better off showing Peggy at multiple points in her life (creating SHIELD with Howard Stark, battling HYDRA, helping Hank Pym, etc). However, "The Iron Ceiling" episode shows the origins of the Black Widow program & the Red Room--a Soviet training facility that coerces abducted girls to become assassins. That was a pretty fascinating aspect of the 5th episode, and I think it’s an example of what the show could be like in the future.

    Overall, Marvel’s Agent Carter is enjoyable show, with a strong (maybe too strong) female protagonist. The 1940’s atmosphere is an interesting one to explore, especially when it’s set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I hope that the series is renewed for a Season 2, because there is so much untapped Marvel mythology that can be explored.

    Just one word Outstanding. Agent Carter is the most amazing female action heroine from comic books. I saw the whole season and was blown away. Plus, Hayley Atwell is the perfect choice for the role. I really loved it.

Prior to this show Peggy Carter's main claim to fame was that she was Captain America's colleague who in contrast to the ageless Steve Rodgers got old and died. The producers have fleshed out her back story and came up with a show that's truly engaging, borrowing a bit from Madmen's take onOnce again Marvel has made a side character almost as interesting as the main protagonist.     The setting of this show is fascinating to watch and analyze as Peggy Carter has to deal with sexism as she is the only female agent in SSR.     For a period network drama series, this has got great cast performances. It’s very well-acted that it’s hard for me to choose who is the best actress besides Hayley Atwell. They played their roles really well and they enjoyed the characters they played.

    The writing is top-notch and the plot from start to finish is fun and intriguing. The best part is the character development on not only Peggy but also for the rest of the characters. It’s basically why I am such a huge fan of Marvel Cinematic Universe.

    The cinematography in this show is eye-appealing and makes it really feel like a show set in the 40s. I actually tried watching the first episode on black and white and it does make it like a 40s show! Of course, I chose to watch it in color because I am more used to it.

    Agent Carter is a fun TV show thanks to its great cast performances, top-notch writing, intriguing yet fun plot, compelling character development, excellent cinematography.    … Expand

    Though it has its moments it suffers from the 1950 sexism, which I am finding annoying and seems to be over used.

    The plot is a bit pedestrian right now.

    Agent Carter proved to be one of the best surprises, I've seen in TV for quite some time.
    In a way it serves to connect the dots of everything that couldn't be shown/told in the movies.

    Each member of the cast proved to be a unique a valuable piece. Not something I see often, if any at all.

    Agent Carter is the best female marvel tv hero (perhaps the best female hero in tv period). The show is easy to get into but it doesn't feel dumbed down either. The characters and the setting are likeable. The action is there but never over done. Carter comes across as a strong woman not because she is trying to prove something but because she has to be (it's part of her job).     Agent Carter is a fun noir, mystery adventure with a smart story about how women weren't respected in the 1930's. And if you enjoyed movies like the Rocketeer then you will definitely enjoy this show. Watching the Flash followed by Agent Carter or Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. makes for a great night of tv. If you're not watching both in a row or just this. You're missing out.

Carter. BAM SPLAT KAPOW, but would you like a cup of tea with that?

    An amazingly well done comic book inspired series based on the premiere episodes. Who knew you would have to go back to the 1940's to reinvigorate comics on television. Love the spy genre and the copious action. It's also nice to have a strong female protagonist for a change. Great writing, top notch production values and great acting.     Very well done show. It seems very promising and quite honestly enjoyable. I would highly recommend this show. If you are sceptical at least give it a watch and it will sway you to its side!

    I wasn't a big fan of Peggy in the first Cap movie, so the pilot blew me away even more. The show does an excellent job creating the world of Peggy Carter, the viewer is drawn right in and it's made easy for us to sympathize with her. In a man's world she navigates the casual chovinistic attitudes of co-workers and foes alike, but she knows how to pick her battles, uses the sexism againstI wasn't a big fan of Peggy in the first Cap movie, so the pilot blew me away even more. The show does an excellent job creating the world of Peggy Carter, the viewer is drawn right in and it's made easy for us to sympathize with her. In a man's world she navigates the casual chovinistic attitudes of co-workers and foes alike, but she knows how to pick her battles, uses the sexism against her for her own means. It's now a black-and-white world though, we have the sympathetic Souza, a charismatic Howard Stark and his butler Jarvis. So for everyone complaining all men are portrayed as evil, they're not. Besides, Peggy has her flaws. Everyone has flaws. Just like life. Amazing, isn't it? I've only seen three episodes so far but I'm very optimistic about this show and hopefully we might even get another season.… Expand

    I thought this was really good until the ending, which ended kind of weak. I mean it had me on the edge of my chair and then the last episode just didn't deliver for me. I still liked it, just thought it would had a better ending.

    I want to like this show a lot more than I do. Hayley Atwell's performance is lively and engaging, but the cartoonish interpretation of period sexism is boring to the point of exhausting. The plot is lackluster, and unfortunately it seems the writers still suffer from contemporary sexism, as the most finely tuned noir elements of the script still go to the typical male detectiveI want to like this show a lot more than I do. Hayley Atwell's performance is lively and engaging, but the cartoonish interpretation of period sexism is boring to the point of exhausting. The plot is lackluster, and unfortunately it seems the writers still suffer from contemporary sexism, as the most finely tuned noir elements of the script still go to the typical male detective characters they obviously feel more comfortable writing. The driving conflict lacks gravitas, and as far as the titular character is concerned, more narrative and emotional weight is given to her forbearance in the face of endless, over-the-top borishness from her colleagues. Because of this, Agent Carter, in spite of her daring exploits, feels less like the hero and more like the bullied kid on the playground. The villains feel inconsequential when the antagonists we're invested in her overcoming are right there in the office, yet there seems no hope of ever overcoming them, because the writers interpret this as period setting rather than plot-driving conflict. How long am I expected to watch Carter curtsy and endure such asininity from the SSR? The show lacks nuance, it's unsophisticated, and doesn't do justice to the characters or the talent signed on.… Expand

    Certes, ces dames pourront éventuellement se réjouir de cette héroïne féministe mais c'est l'arbre qui cache la forêt : quoiqu'elle fasse, elle reste une bécasse et l'actrice a été uniquement choisie pour la taille de son soutif. Et si ce n'était pas le cas, elle n'aurait rien à faire là puisqu'elle joue comme une cruche de toute façon.

    Sinon bah on s'ennuie énormément malgré le faible nombre d'épisodes puisque c'est écrit avec les pieds par des scénaristes surmenés. A éviter et à fuir donc.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I totally loved the show. it was amazing the action the stunts Agent carter has by far set the bar for Agents of shield. I can't compare the two shows with one another of course but Agent carter runs for 8-episodes so that's why it has more action and gets right to the point in the story we know agent carter no need for her back story which was just perfect. The rest of the supporting cast like Jarvis was spot on had me laughing in some parts but still for the first season it's off to a great start.… Expand

Viewing figures have dropped by 2m, but you assume renewal for Season 2 will happen. Menstruation jokes and the main character making out with a criminal to trick him doesn't seem fitting.     So far, the Disney experiment is working, if not always perfectly. Agent Carter‘s tone seems right and its lead seems perfect, helping the live-action wing of the Marvel franchise to evolve as it spreads across time into our current entertainment and its future.
