What this is all lacking is context and breathing room. Maybe that'll come as the first season progresses and the opportunity to leave the podcast behind presents itself. So far, Limetown is a mood, sustained by its vague whiff of oddity and Biel's ability to be consistently watchable.

Limetown is tosh of the highest quality. It has touches of Wayward Pines, second-tier X-Files episodes and that thing I can’t remember the name of but they all woke up in a hotel with no idea how they got there and unable to leave.

This started out strong and then at about episode 6 it started to tank. I enjoyed the fact that there wasn't a bunch of cgi and that theThis started out strong and then at about episode 6 it started to tank. I enjoyed the fact that there wasn't a bunch of cgi and that the general weirdness was used to carry the main theme. I had an idea of what was going to happen after episode 8 and I wanted to be wrong, but I wasn't. I have to say that I took off points because I knew how it was going to end and that the ending is super stupid and lazy. Other than that, all the actors did a fine job with what they had. This went from an 8 to a 5 and that is mostly because of the last three episodes. Full Review »

The key to this series lies in it's tone, and it's ability to create tension through well-crafted cliffhangers.

The story has enough intrigue to draw you in, and the subtle and moody performance of Biel makes this worth a view.
