Oct 13, 2010Regarding the pilot: Skeet Ulrich is too lightweight for his role and had a hard time getting beyond that. Someone with the gravitas of a Russell Crowe would be a good choice. Shawnee Smith gave a weak performance as the twisted mother. The story was fairly predictable and conventional, which would have been okay with stronger performances.

The prosecutors on this new show--led by actor Peter Coyote, who hauls loads of Adam Schiff gravel in his voice--are given to putting whole systems on trial, metaphorically and otherwise....Though [Detectives] Rex and T.J. do, in fact, dig for clues, it somehow feels that they're just watching them erupt.
