The band's notoriously explosive live show is expected to attract as many as 10,000 fans eager to hear material from their highly anticipated new album, "Out of Exile," set for release May 23. The performance will take place on a "Jimmy Kimmel Live" custom-built stage in the middle of Hollywood Blvd. Two songs will be presented during the TV broadcast, which airs from 12:05-1:05 a.m., ET/PT on ABC, and fans at the concert will get to hear additional songs. The show will also air simultaneously in New York City's Times Square on the ABC SuperSign.
"Audioslave is a great band that deserves a great platform and, on top of that, it's always fun to close a street down," Jimmy Kimmel said.

Tom Morello, the band's guitarist, commented: "When I first moved to L.A., I walked the length of Hollywood Boulevard trying to get a retail job there, and nobody would hire me... Now they're shutting down the entire street so that Audioslave can rock a free show for our fans. We are very excited to rattle the windows of the whole damn city."

"Out of Exile" is the follow-up release to Audioslave's enormously successful, eponymous debut album, which has sold more than 4 million copies worldwide. The first single from "Out of Exile," "Be Yourself," is currently sitting at no. 1 on both the rock and alternative radio charts, where it has been since debuting at the top spot three weeks ago. The band is comprised of former Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell on vocals and ex-Rage Against the Machine members Tom Morello, Tim Commerford and Brad Wilk, on guitar, bass and drums, respectively.

Additionally, Audioslave fans will have the opportunity to purchase live recordings of the band's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" performance following the concert. The songs will be available for 99 cents per song exclusively at Sony's www.connect.com music store.
