Season 3 Review: Though "Sunny" is admirably energetic, the comedy can seem repetitive after a while. [13 Sep 2007]

Season 2 Review: As comedy it's hit-and-miss; what sells the show are the in-between things, the nonsense sibling spats between Dennis and Dee, the way Charlie's voice rises as his anxiety level does, the loose play of the banter. But if giving DeVito a prominent role will up the attendance, it doesn't immediately up the comedy. [28 Jun 2006]

Season 2 Review: Recruiting Danny DeVito to play the estranged dad to half the show's central quartet might have seemed like a good idea, but the result is a more uneven and mean-spirited show that overreaches and forces some gags. [29 Jun 2006]

Season 1 Review: Funny - barely - in an uncomfortable, theatrical way, some moments feel like performance art or improv exercises, albeit with nice title sequences. [14 Aug 2005]

Season 1 Review: "It's Always Sunny" peddles immaturity and discomfort with remarkable wit in a few instances. [4 Aug 2005]

Season 2 Review: The three episodes of the new season that I've seen are almost entirely flat. [29 Jun 2006]

Season 1 Review: In general, "Philadelphia" pulls back just short of being really tasteless, which seems to miss the point. [4 Aug 2005]

Season 1 Review: "Sunny" simply isn't funny enough often enough to justify its rather labored envelope-pushing. [4 Aug 2005]
