Packing more pathos into its complex run than most shows can muster, there is a real sense of revelation that comes through with Invasion season 2. It might not match contemporaries such as Silo and Foundation in terms of consistency, but more than makes up for that disappointing first run. Read full review

Where that is remains to be seen, as there are many threads left dangling just as the world hangs on by one, but Season 2 now stokes a more earned curiosity about how they will unravel in the still-expanding story ahead. There is so much putting the cart before the horse, and when you rack your brain as to why this keeps happening, the only thing that makes sense is that someone or multiple someones in charge just don’t think, deep in their hearts, that the writing is really that important. Read full review

It took all of season 1 to get to the season 2 episode 1. Season one was very boring and season 2 appears to be following the slow plot. The Aliens need to get involved in the script. First kill of the mother and her kids, waste of time and energy. Second, find a girlfriend for the JapaneseIt took all of season 1 to get to the season 2 episode 1. 1 point for special effects. Season 1 underplayed things too much, so now Hollywood swings the pendulum waaay out the other way and the screen is chocka-block with aliens.

And as Hollywood seems to do when they think they've got a hit on their hands but need to give it some oomph for Season 2 and "step it up a notch" they spend a bunch of money on FX and sets and get ChatGPT to write the script, coz who needs writers?

The writing is so bad. I don't know why critics are giving it a pass. They ignore basic human motivation and gives us corny, predictable trash. The Elon Musk-alike character sits at the desk and says "Showtime" ffs. Its awful.… Expand

Wow, this show is bad. It illustrates everything that's wrong with Hollywood. Put simply, it's boring and predictable. It tries to go woke, with a lesbian main character who saves the world. But this character somehow saves the world not with science, but by some kind of emotional-magicWow, this show is bad. It illustrates everything that's wrong with Hollywood. Put simply, it's boring and predictable. It tries to go woke, with a lesbian main character who saves the world. But this character somehow saves the world not with science, but by some kind of emotional-magic pouting about her sadness and grief over her lost girlfriend (Season 1). Really, it's that incomprehensible. And the nonsense (and pouting and crying) continues into Season 2. This stab at global wokeness doesn't somehow further 2SLGBTQIA+ rights but backfires, rendering untrue stereotypes of women as emotional hysterical beings incapable of rational scientific decision-making. Watch this to see how money can be burned by unimaginative, risk-averse writers. The most boring bonfire you'll ever see.… Expand
