As season three character The Driving Crooner would say, “It’s just too good!”

I Think You Should Leave is absurdity at its most brilliant, and thankfully, Robinson and Kanin have given us a great crop that doesn't need any goosing.

I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson hasn’t lost a step in its third season, and in fact it’s probably gained a few, given that the inherent strangeness beneath the surface of our society is only becoming more inflamed.

If you enjoyed the previous two seasons, you must treat yourself to more of the crescendoing absurdity that Robinson and co-creator Zach Cannon have very much made their own. If you didn't like the show, THEN WHAT ARE YOU EVEN DOING HERE?

To say it isn’t as ambitious as what came before would be to as true as a gut feeling can get, but it would also ignore the bold imagination and earnest commitment that fuels one of TV’s most unpredictable experiences.

Though the sketches occasionally feel like pale repeats of classics from seasons past, you still can’t beat that rollercoaster feeling of not knowing where a sketch will go, or what Robinson will do with his rubber-faced physicality and downright feral line delivery.

Robinson’s cult hit goes off in all manner of unexpected and irrational directions. It may not redefine itself in its third go-round, but it still affords a hilarious and endlessly rewatchable vision of a country whose inhabitants are spinning out of control—or, as one of Robinson’s wackos states, “I see the world wildly and in wild ways.”

This is not bad, and I’m glad it’s here. But it’s not the same, and maybe the price these guys have to pay for their talent is that when you make something so singular, there’s nothing to compare it to but itself. By those standards, this one feels like a miss…but seriously, ask me again in a month.

Season 1 and especially season 2 are all-time comedy classics. Laugh out loud, eye wateringly hilarious. Season 3 is chuckle out loud funny. 7/10
