I will give credit to some of the actors, editors and visual effect crew who must have had a very difficult time putting this together.

The actors clearly had a difficult script and plot to work with and look like they genuinely tried their best. The screenwriting, direction, scripting and plot are laughable at best. The visual effects vary dramatically between scenes and episodes, with some being stunning and immersive and others appearing more like a first draft edit. I'm not a GoT fanatic yet this was a let down.… Expand

they actually replaced main actress character that carried the whole show. With her show was decent at least.. There was a father and daughter bond. there was soul. There was potential. There was hope. Now there is nothing.

House of dragon's could've been so much better. This first season is breathlessly racing through character development,time periods and plots. The series is OK. It's not great. I've seen 8 episodes already and I am not impressed. To be honest, I am watching it, because I want to be back in the world of Westeros. I can't speak for anyone else. But, when I rewatch season 1 ofThe series is OK. It's not great. I've seen 8 episodes already and I am not impressed. To be honest, I am watching it, because I want to be back in the world of Westeros. I can't speak for anyone else. But, when I rewatch season 1 of Game of Thrones, I see a significant difference in Quality writing and acting.

One would think, that the new series would at least, up their level of writing and acting. But, comparing both season 1 of Game of Thrones with what I see from season 1 of House of the Dragon, Game of Thrones is far superior.

I am not a fantasy genre fan. I am just a casual watcher, who likes to watch good shows and movies. So far, I have yet to see anything from House of the Dragon, that would suggest that it's better than Game of Thrones. In any way.

I am not trying to bad-mouth the series. This is not my intention. I am making an observation.

I am quite sure, that there are people who love what they are seeing, from House of the Dragon. To each his own.

Again. I will watch House of the Dragon, because I enjoy the world of Westeros. Hopefully, HBO has more spinoffs coming out soon. But, House of the Dragon is OK. It's not GREAT.… Expand

This show is SO disappointing, I'm not sure if it can even be saved (NOTE: This review was submitted after Season 1, Episode 4), and this is coming from somebody who absolutely loved the GOT series so much that he read the books -- and I'm not normally a book reader. The biggest problem: There isn't a single remotely likable character. Not one. I mean, in GOT, right off the bat, you took a liking to all the Starks, Jon Snow, Tyrion, Daenerys, Jorah, et al., and even respected the deceitful, ambitious climbers like Varys and Littlefinger, who exchanged exhilarating barbs many a times, as well as the morally bankrupt, uber power-hungry Tywin, Cersei, Joffrey, and to a lesser extent, Jaime. The second biggest failing is the dialogue is just so "meh." Whereas I used to marvel at the cleverly written interplay between characters, this just feels like we're getting B-list writers for the prequel and/or folks who are just there to collect a paycheck. On top of all that, then you've got the mega cringe non-stop incest and on-screen adult/child sex scenes because, ya know, Hellywood gotta Hellywood and they're clearly using social engineering to make pedophilia mainstream. Disgusting. In fact, for the mainstream reviewers/critics/talking heads who gave this show high marks, kinda makes you wonder about them, but I digress. In sum: If you were hoping for a prequel that's even half as good as the original GOT series, I, for one, believe you will be sadly disappointed.… Expand

Okay the last two seasons of Game of Thrones were a lot weaker than the first six. But they never got to the point where House of the Dragon seems to stay for at least the first four episodes I have seen now. Boring!

There are some pretty good actors and the p[roduction value is high. However that can not make up for the poor, unimaginative and plainly boring story. There are a few dragons flying around but that's as close as it gets to fantasy. It's a plain old "princess has to marry" story. and it's not even told particularly well...I'm going to try to watch the whole season but I might not bee able to keep my eyes open...… Expand

Wow this is really dumb! It's a sloppy mess reminiscent of the last couple seasons of Game of Thrones. The acting is wildly inconsistent, the script is hilariously bad. A great series, each of the characters feels alive, with actual logic motivations behind their actions, and even the ones you hate, you are able to understand at least the reason "why" they do what they do.

I really enjoyed the first 5 episodes but the recasting ruined the show in my opinion. I struggled to watch the end and would much rather the original actors play the adults.

Game of thrones sucks , house of dragon sucks again .Talking about feminist .House of dragon is unacceptable . house of dragon is telling me woman supposed to being dicked . it is alright that your body belong to yourself , you can have sex with anyone you want . it is fair and freedom so be it . but I lost favor at any character , princess are too normal like other woman anywhere , I don't care them anymore , what's going on is one of business . Game of Thrones lie me 1 to 7 seasons , I am not going to waste my time on this .

Two of the central characters were suddenly swapped out for people we don't recognize. Several characters aged except for Criston (who looked exactly the same), making the transition more difficult. There is no art or deft in this move to adulthood. 5 episodes of developing characters wiped out by an inept swap of new actors in episode 6 ruined the series.… Expand

The series were created with the huge inspiration by "Game of Thrones". A lot of such interesting characters in the show gave me some kind of excited emotions. I'm sorry for my vocabulary because english isn't me native tongue.

Just finished my 2nd time through the first season and I honestly enjoyed it more than any season of game of thrones. The characters feel a lot more real and human than the rest of the series.
