House of Dragons, is turning out to be really good series. Still early in the season so I'm not going to praise it has the best series of all time.
But the first 3 episodes I was invested. I just hope it doesn't turn out like GOT season 8 tragedy.
Looking forward how the season 1 will end and how it will tie into season 2.

Well I guess I don't care that much about dragons not being childish in GOT, brothels being not hypocrites in GOT, Bran being king in GOT, GOT not being woke... I just really enjoy this show.

It feels like game of thrones, got some dragons. So far seems to have promise. Least it isn't Amazons Lord of the Rings.

I didn't finish game of thrones but this seems to be a great reboot so far. The world building is impressive and immersive, the scripts sharp and funny and all the actors are convincing. I'm looking forward to more episodes - unless it too becomes a gore-fest, as there's only so much degeneration I can stand.

3 episodes in, this is a very good series so far. Great acting, good dialogue, interesting plot, decent CGI and action scenes. Only a ridiculously violent birthing scene bothered me so far. Oh, and race swapping an entire family with terrible dreadlock wigs is annoying too. Not as woke as the showrunners and actors pretend the show is, which is a good thing. Perfect casting besides the race swapping and replacing younger actresses who look old enough and act well enough for their roles. An oasis among an ocean of garbage TV shows. Expand

Solid so far. Not amazing, not epic but good. As someone who hated GoT S8 I'm as surprised as anyone to be writing this. But credit where credit is due.

    Not perfect but is good.
It keeps the essence of the book.
Epic, Bloody Hell, Dark and the special effects and decorations of the environments are beautifull.
    Love Dragons, Drakarys!

Excellent visuals, quality acting and a good story. The three pillars of episodic success. Bravo, HBO for choosing show runners that cared enough to create a fine fantasy experience.

I really had ZERO "0" hopes for this after the failure of season 8 of GOT....... but this series has proven me wrong, its so damn good, the acting and the plot really catch the esence of the fight for the throne.

This first episode couldn't have been better, already full of betrayal, back stabbing and power mad council members. Looking forward to the next episodes and the whole season in general. As long as the lessons are learned from the final seasons of GoT, The House of the Dragon should be on solid ground. Expand

Went into this not expecting much due to season 8 of GOT. I was pleasantly surprised. The plot moves along nicely and character development is very good. The dialog and acting is good across the board. I watched the first 3 episodes and I am looking forward to the next one.

A rich and well-developed story, interesting characters, full of medieval-style fantasy. respecting the legacy of the original sutor. There is a moment where Matt Smith "Daemon targaryen" develops a tense scene, where he doesn't even need to say a single word.

Had to come in and post a positive review for this first season. To much early review bombing going on. If you watch the whole season the characters are developing well and the stage is set for an action packed second season. I have not been this excited about this franchise since end of season 6 GOT.

A first season that starts slowly but ends up growing in the long run. Curious to see how the plot will evolve and adapt in the second season. This, for now, is just a prologue to the Dance of Dragons.

Have watched all 10 episodes in hope of it getting to the point where I can understand the great reviews. But it fails utterly. This is no GoT but a much more slow paced history of the realm. The pace of the whole thing is so slow and boring. I think it can be said what someone said about The Hobbit and The Rings of Power: Sightseeing of the places great stories have been told. Average, a little on the boring side.
It should be called "House of whine and complain" because main protagonists are always grumble about something.
Good fx, good costumes but characters acts and looks stereotyped (Daemon for example looks and act like a "bad-guy-with-rebel-attitude" from a Playstation 1 rpg). Frequent time skips make it difficult to follow.
    You can skip it.

Waaaaaaay better than I expected the prequel to be and it reminds me of how much I missed peak GoT. The web it spins is so interesting and infuriating (in a good way) in equal measures. I love all the time skips in it and it really keeps the story moving and helps massively with the pacing.

I also adore the characterisation in this, everyone feels three dimensional and their decisions

I also adore the characterisation in this, everyone feels three dimensional and their decisions don't feel cheap like later GoT. I think, like a lot of people, I was quite cynical about a GoT prequel given how it ended but it lives up to the hype for me. Excited for s2!

A real return to form. Avoids the cringy adolescence of early GoT, with an actual interesting focus on gender and power. Feels more compact in scope, but that's no bad thing.

It’s mainstream fantasy, blessed with sumptuous costumes, compelling settings and those “Avatar”-like swooping dragons. Dragons, in fact, turn up just when the plot needs them most. When the house seems like it’s going to fall, they’re there to shore it up. ... It’s good; it still has time to be great.

"House of the Dragon" takes about five episodes to warm up, which corresponds to the amount of time that we spend with the younger actors playing key roles before a time jump necessitates a casting change. ... Rhaenyra is not Daenerys. She doesn't have a hype squad cheering on her murderous inclinations – yet – or an unearned sense of destiny. She's learning the price of capability and lessons about what it means to be a Targaryen, and a woman, from noble sources and unseemly ones. That combination of influences makes her an enigmatic guide back to a land we haven't forgotten, yet aren't entirely sure we've missed very much.
