Aug 21, 2022Amazing First Episode, Reminded me of the early seasons of game of thrones, can't wait to see how the rest of this season progress.
-
Aug 30, 2022The battle of the throne is back and better than ever. Gonna be so epic watching Dragon riders duke it out.
-
Oct 17, 2022Absolute joy and pleasure. Adapting Fire and Blood is extremely hard yet they managed to do it greatly. The casting is excellent, the costumes are somptuous, it needs a slow start to expose everything and understand the plot but the more this serie advances the more mindblowing it is. One of the greatest

Sep 7, 2022A well made show, not as good as the original GoT but a masterpiece in comparison to Rings of Power
-
Sep 1, 2022Lets get this straight, it is not as good as the first few season of the original, but so far it is better than seasons 7 and 8. It doesn't feel phoned in either, and I am willing to admit I might be carrying some unfair baggage from the last season, but I am going to stick around for this.
AT LEAST IT ISN'T NETFLIX ADAPTATION QUALITY!!! -

Aug 21, 2022Westeros is finally back. This was such a great start, we can truly see there's so much potential in this show, I had chills.
-
Aug 27, 2022Very good for first episode Thank you HBO for producing this series
Please be good to end of it -
Aug 25, 2022I find the episode of the House of the Dragon series, a wonderful first episode, introducing us to the characters and their political orientations in the world of Westeros. The transitions between scenes are wonderful, shocks in the first episode, and fateful decisions that affect future events. I consider this amazing.

Sep 1, 2022Honestly I’ve very much enjoyed the first two episodes and look forward to seeing the dragons as the season goes on. Not going to be as good as got I think, but overall happy with the pacing and acting.

Aug 23, 2022Was a solid first episode. Surprisingly focused. Has a different feel than GOT, but that's not a bad thing since the last 2 seasons of GOT were awful.
-
Aug 23, 2022The first episode is a strong start in the season. I hope HBO can keep the quality.
-
Aug 25, 2022First Episode seems the best. I hope rest of the episodes follow the same path. The pacing was great. VFX and Dolby Atmos support was top notch. The story build up is great. Can't wait for rest of the episodes.
-
Aug 21, 2022When HOTD was first announced, I had doubts as to whether it would be good. But after watching the first episode... I am blown away. From the acting to the set design.
If they maintains the quality and intrigue of episode one, HOTD could be better than GOT. -
Aug 22, 2022It's great to see the house Mother of Dragons in GoT from, its glory till its demise. Can't wait for episode 2. Lineage of each Houses and why they starting to fight each other as seen in GoT, surely each fan that got no time to read the novels dying to know.

Aug 23, 2022I loved everything that happened in this first episode. I thought it would all be very rushed and in fact it was perfect. Things fell into place and the conflicts to come are already clear.
Featured performances by Daemon, Viserys, Rhaenyra and Otto -
Aug 25, 2022It is really good! It is really good! It is really good! It is really good!
-
Aug 21, 2022Hated the last season of GOT, but rating this on its own merits, it was brutal and a solid first episode, felt like S1-S3 of GOT. I'm intrigued and will keep tuning in, hope they can keep it up.
-
Aug 21, 2022Show of the year! For those who still are resented by GoT's finale, please grow up!
-
Aug 21, 2022AMAZING!!! MUST WATCH DESPITE GOT'S FINALE. It has everything to be perfect. Action, lots of drama and great script. Amazing.
-
Aug 21, 2022I'm not a big fan of the gratuitous bordello scenes, but the rest looks great. Milly Alcock is fantastic and has a great future ahead of her. Episode 1 left me wanting more. Don't compare it to GOT, treat it like a new thing. GOT was pretty campy in parts anyways. I don't mind them using actors of different races, it just doesn't bother me at all.
-
Aug 21, 2022Great dynamic between the characters. I can tell this wont be anywhere near as big or good as GOT butttt it will def be very good and do amazing in its own lane. I believe this is going to be a very successful spinoff like what better call saul is for breaking bad
-
Aug 21, 2022Fire episode Fire show
Gonna be epic
Gonna be amazing
Fire and blood
GOT
HTOD -
Aug 22, 2022So far, so good. I've only seen episode one, but it's shaping up to be a stripped down GOT clone and I like that. All the casting choices seem to be pretty good and I'm already into it. That first episode flew by, so that's a good thing.
-
Aug 22, 2022What a first episode. I love the casting and pacing so far. It feels like the old Game of Thrones is back.
-
Aug 21, 2022I have never seen 'Game of Thrones,' and have little interest in doing so, but this turned out well. The first episode hooked me, and now I'm waiting for the obvious twists and turns the story will have. My main complaint is that there were so many names that I got lost several times.
-
Aug 22, 2022Off to a great start. Great casting and character development. On par for GOT. This will be a great was to understand early history.
-
Aug 21, 2022Amazing show!!! Ryan and Miguel know what they are doing!! Westeros is in great hands!!
It feels so good to be back in this world! I was a little skeptical with how the show would be handled after the debacle of the final seasons of game of thrones but I feel like this show is vindicating. Ryan's attention to details from the books and Miguel's direction is a perfect match. -
Aug 21, 2022It cannot be said that it is as beautiful as Game of Thrones, but the first episode is reminiscent of the Game of Thrones series, although it is weaker than it in everything, because the book of Fire and Blood is weaker than the Song of Fire and Ice collection, and overall it looks good.
-
Aug 21, 2022AMAZING!!! MUST WATCH DESPITE GOT'S FINALE. It has everything to be perfect. Action, lots of drama and great script. Amazing.
-
Aug 22, 2022I hope that's a start of something great. Costumes and decorations are majestic. Actors inspire confidence. It's a great challenge to fit all dialogues developing characters in such short time, but I hope it'll get better in further series.
-
Aug 22, 2022Solid first episode. Amazing production value. Cool sets. Awesome wardrobe. Sweet armor.
-
Aug 22, 2022You know what I really enjoyed that first episode of this new series from George R R Martin. Certainly sets it up for some cracking episodes to come. Very good acting, great set locations (something I’ve adored with GoT), and it’s just different but right thru it all is the handprint of George RR Martin. Brilliant. Westeros is back baby.
-

Aug 22, 2022House of the Dragon debuts in a solid, agile and consistent way with Heirs of the Dragon, which takes us back to the fantastic world of Westeros as if we never said goodbye, the palatial intrigue that haunts King's Landing in GOT is still present which makes us transports to something totally unique and new but with ties to the material we already know through nostalgia

Aug 22, 2022Everything is so perfect! Reminds me of the book. Thank you George R. R. Martin for this beloved histories.
-
Aug 22, 2022Great first episode! This was a feeling like The good old GoT. Recomend to all fan of game of thrones
-
Aug 22, 2022Finally some good fantasy. All in all the first episode felt like more mature Game of Thrones, with more complex and deep characters. Great looking sets and CGI. Some of the armors look a bit plastic but it's really a minor thing. I can't believe how it has only 69 on critic score. Guess it does not have enough D I V E R S I T Y and Mary Sue women who bash the men for being incompetent morons lol.
-
Sep 10, 2022Interesting expansion on the TV universe. Have only read the original series so not sure how it's holding up to its source material. George said the actor playing the king added more nuance and tragedy to his character than he originally wrote. I've enjoyed the first three episodes.
**** review bombers. If this is your life then get another one. -
Aug 22, 2022Everything in House of the Dragon it's perfect, the cast, characters, adaptation, scenario... just brilliant

Aug 22, 2022I thoroughly enjoyed the pilot episode for this series. I really liked how they referenced the Song of Fire and Ice and Rhaenerys' character came in with a strong and promising potential that is sure to add to the fire that eventually produces Daenerys "Khaleesi" Targaryen. Excellent ensemble. It is really exciting and I'm very curious to continue seeing more as the series continues.

Aug 23, 2022SOLID first episode, and much better than I had any expectation of it being. I've been upset since GOT season 5 when it started tanking. Had no hopes that HOTD was going to be anything other than a stale moneygrab, but I gotta say I was more than pleasantly surprised by it's first offering, I'm in, and Sunday night Westeros is appointment TV once again.
-
Aug 22, 2022Finally we have another story in our beloved universe created by Gorge.R.R Martin
-
Aug 22, 2022Foi maravilhoso voltar a Westeros! Como fã do livro, eu amei demais! Muito promissora.
Ryan Condal, junto de Miguel e do grandioso George R. R. Martin irão conduzir bem esse show! -

Sep 11, 2022Una gran serie a la altura de juego de tronos. Buenos actores. Buen guión. Quiero mas

Sep 5, 2022Once again: Fun to see anti woke snwoflakes become mad because of castings. Lmfao.
-
Sep 22, 2022The good writing of Westeros is back and I am fully invested. While it’s hard to ignore the massive fumble of Game Of Thrones in the later seasons, this show shines on its own. Incredible cast, incredible actors, the writing, cgi, world building, setting and tone are all incredible and very familiar to the feeling the first few seasons of Thrones invoked.

Sep 12, 2022House of Dragons, is turning out to be really good series. Still early in the season so I'm not going to praise it has the best series of all time.
But the first 3 episodes I was invested. I just hope it doesn't turn out like GOT season 8 tragedy.
Looking forward how the season 1 will end and how it will tie into season 2. -
Sep 6, 2022Well I guess I don't care that much about dragons not being childish in GOT, brothels being not hypocrites in GOT, Bran being king in GOT, GOT not being woke... I just really enjoy this show.

Sep 3, 2022It feels like game of thrones, got some dragons. So far seems to have promise. Least it isn't Amazons Lord of the Rings.
-
Sep 3, 2022I didn't finish game of thrones but this seems to be a great reboot so far. The world building is impressive and immersive, the scripts sharp and funny and all the actors are convincing. I'm looking forward to more episodes - unless it too becomes a gore-fest, as there's only so much degeneration I can stand.

Sep 5, 2022Solid so far. Not amazing, not epic but good. As someone who hated GoT S8 I'm as surprised as anyone to be writing this. But credit where credit is due.
-
Sep 4, 2022All I can say is WOO-HOO! I absolutely love it so far! I am really enjoying the characters and the storyline. Super happy that Season 2 is already a go!!!
-
Sep 4, 2022Was sceptical going into this show, 3 episodes in and its worth watching, I hope it continues to deliver
-
Sep 5, 2022Excellent visuals, quality acting and a good story. The three pillars of episodic success. Bravo, HBO for choosing show runners that cared enough to create a fine fantasy experience.
-
Sep 8, 2022I really had ZERO "0" hopes for this after the failure of season 8 of GOT....... but this series has proven me wrong, its so damn good, the acting and the plot really catch the esence of the fight for the throne.
-
Sep 9, 2022Fantastic. Actors - Special effects - plot, all great.
Made the forgive the got horrible finale -

Sep 9, 2022Went into this not expecting much due to season 8 of GOT. I was pleasantly surprised. The plot moves along nicely and character development is very good. The dialog and acting is good across the board. I watched the first 3 episodes and I am looking forward to the next one.
-
Sep 10, 2022A rich and well-developed story, interesting characters, full of medieval-style fantasy. respecting the legacy of the original sutor. There is a moment where Matt Smith "Daemon targaryen" develops a tense scene, where he doesn't even need to say a single word.
-
Sep 11, 2022good cast, I'm very excited to see how it goes, can't understand the many negative reviews.
-
Oct 25, 2022Had to come in and post a positive review for this first season. To much early review bombing going on. If you watch the whole season the characters are developing well and the stage is set for an action packed second season. I have not been this excited about this franchise since end of season 6 GOT.
-
Mar 16, 2023A first season that starts slowly but ends up growing in the long run. Curious to see how the plot will evolve and adapt in the second season. This, for now, is just a prologue to the Dance of Dragons.
-
Oct 23, 2022Very good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dec 10, 2022A real return to form. Avoids the cringy adolescence of early GoT, with an actual interesting focus on gender and power. Feels more compact in scope, but that's no bad thing.

Oct 11, 2022Yes they rewrote the race of a group of characters, but at least the original author was involved in that choice. That aside, this series seems to be better written than many other fantasy series nowadays and the performances are WAY better. Even knowing how it ends, this show is still a pleasure to watch, just like the first 7 seasons of its namesake.

Though the acting is exemplary, this grim, glum prequel sorely lacks a Tyrion, an impish jester to puncture the portentousness. [12 - 25 Sep 2022, p.11]
-
It’s mainstream fantasy, blessed with sumptuous costumes, compelling settings and those “Avatar”-like swooping dragons. Dragons, in fact, turn up just when the plot needs them most. When the house seems like it’s going to fall, they’re there to shore it up. ... It’s good; it still has time to be great.
-
"House of the Dragon" takes about five episodes to warm up, which corresponds to the amount of time that we spend with the younger actors playing key roles before a time jump necessitates a casting change. ... Rhaenyra is not Daenerys. She doesn't have a hype squad cheering on her murderous inclinations – yet – or an unearned sense of destiny. She's learning the price of capability and lessons about what it means to be a Targaryen, and a woman, from noble sources and unseemly ones. That combination of influences makes her an enigmatic guide back to a land we haven't forgotten, yet aren't entirely sure we've missed very much.
