    I don't get the harsh reviews for a perfectly passable show. It's better than a lot of stuff out there right now. It reminds me a lot of The Exorcist series, which I also liked a lot.

    The series is quite interesting! Well shot, goes out of its way not to feel like a generic Marvel-story! This exactly what I was waiting from a creepy fall TV series.

    This is a good horror-type show. Forget the Marvel part: there is almost zero reference to anything Marvel or superhero. It's a stand alone project that is creepy, well-acted with interesting character arcs, passable FX, and with lots of plot mysteries to try to unravel.

    Strange that these gets such low reviews. Its certainly not must-see tv but its well written and well acted. Its main weakness is that it fails to do anything very new with its theme and its interpretation of demons is the typical 'regular guys with black eyes' type. The show could have been a lot better if it had worked on the horror aspect a little more and made an effort to make things more unsettling - I would have loved to have seen them do for horror what Legion did for psychics. Still a decent enough show that should appeal to the Supernatural crowd.… Expand

    I thought this show was fine. Its not amazing by any means, but its a cool exorcist kinda deal show. To be fair, I had absolutely no idea this was a Marvel show. I guess that is why it could be getting hammered. Its not the Avengers by any means, but its a cool show

    Really nice tv-series. Definetely not the character of the Marvel comics but anyway a really good series. Nice characters, nice story.

    It’s more creepy than scary and the first episode does nothing to make us want to watch and find more of those scares. ... Helstrom was slow-moving and dull, and is more interested in brooding dialogue than actual scares.

    What follows is part demon-exorcising procedural, part family drama, and neither are properly executed. ... Furthermore, awkward editing is also a persistent issue throughout all 10 episodes. Dramatic, action-oriented, and ostensibly scary moments are frequently cut short and the interruptions kill any semblance of the show’s pacing rather than creating tension or suspense.
