She delivers on everything she promises. Gadsby transitions from section to section of her 10th comedy tour with an ease that seems almost stream of consciousness. Douglas has the thoughtful craft and righteous anti-patriarchy anger you'd expect from the person who made Nanette, but it has a lighter touch, a looser structure, and no moment like the climax of Nanette in which she doesn't tell jokes, only truth. Read full review

“Douglas” indicates the limits of her humor in covering over the limits of her project when it comes to redressing all the ills she wants to fix. The applause ringing through “Douglas” suggests that what one comes to Gadsby for is the humor, but what one leaves with, by the artist’s own design, is a sense of having done activism simply by agreeing with her. If you’re in the mood for a lighthearted giggle, this is not the special for that and Netflix is packed with dozens of others that do provide this service. It didn’t make me laugh and I believe the intention was to do so, even more than her previous special. Read full review

Awful and unfunny, mostly her lecturing you and speaking on of course her sexuality and being a lesbian.

You'd think that the backlash against celebrity lecture videos (Imagine and the BLM I Take Responsibility videos) would make it clear that people are tired of being lectured. I remember struggling to make it through Nanette, and trying to keep an open mind, but ultimately giving up. Who is this person to lecture anyone? And it seems awfully sneaky to do this under the guise of comedy. There is nothing funny or compelling about this. The only reason this person has a career is so some studio or marketing team can rack up woke points. I feel.sorry for people who think this is funny. It's a lot.like racist comedians from the past. Its only funny or compelling if you have the same hate in your heart.… Expand

clapter != comedy, this isnt comedy, its a mentally ill sad ugly person going on a lame unfunny diatribe.

Spoiler... this comedy is just not funny. If you're a fan of angry comedy, then you might like this. I'm just not a fan of angry comedy. To each his/her/it's/their own.
