This show is just not that funny? Tina Fey who is usually brilliant lacks any ambition here.
The shows joke premis about Andrea Martin as a meddling, overprotective mother is just tired after the first episode. This show needs so much help...If it were being written by anyone else it would have been cancelled after the 2nd episode. Tina please find something to save this...This is no 30 rock!

So much potential....wasted on the overprotective and super annoying mother character. 30 Rock this is not. Let's hope future seasons improve the show because it really has potential and Tina Fey has proven time and time again that she can make great comedy.

For now, it lacks such innovation, to say the least. It's as stale as yesterday's paper.

Once the show discovers what it really has in its holster (a biting rivalry between Chuck and Nicole Richie’s Portia, for example), it finds its comedic stride with some truly inspired writing. Sadly, though, it never quite rises up to the levels of original insanity it learned from its predecessors or manages to surpasses them.

It can be a bit much at times, but there's a great supporting cast--including John Michael Higgins and Nicole Richie as the news anchors--and there are enough laughs to keep it moving.
