I love the look of the show as well as the style of animation (puppet animation rules!). The more I see of Glenn Martin DDS, the more I like it and it has some really snort-out-loud funny moments. Definitely will continue to watch. Maybe the people hating on it just don't understand the more subversive jokes.

Nick at nites not on for kids thats why it's at Night and this show to me is a breath of fresh air and it's alot better than all the george lopez marathons they have.I just wish they would take off the laugh track.

The tide is turning -- the right people seem to be finding it and digging. Nick made a mistake to market actively to the toddler set, it's really for 10 and above. Think when high schoolers/college guys find it, it's path will be set.

Davey and Golitath on acid! Why is everyone uptight about a pg show on n@n? The nanny does sex jokes too!

Def a good show, Dorks who hate it are just that. "I didnt like this show till I watched it" sums up the brain power of people like us who post on websites...the show rocks!

This show makes my family LAUGH! We love it. Don't find it too racy. The naughty jokes go over the kids heads, but there's another layer for adults.

Not for preschoolers. I think that's what all the anger's about. When "Taxi" runs on NAN, people understand it's not for kids. But because this is animation, they automatically assume it's okay for pre-schoolers, and are angry when they see it isn't.

This Christmas Vacation, a lot of people were talking about how funny it was. I originally resisted it, but recently watched a marathon. Now I'm hooked.

I don't care about you stupid concerned parents! This show is drop-dead hilarious. And shouldn't you be monitoring what your kids watch anyways? I find it dumb that you let them watch a show you didn't approve of. I LOVE GLENN!

Great animation, witty writing... largely getting a bum rap because people feel that Nick At Nite should be a kids only network.

I love it. Reminds me of Family Guy, with more heart. A large majority of the comments are bashing the show for not being oriented for kids. I think people are confusing Nick @ Night for Nickelodeon. Nick @ Nite = adults Nickelodeon= kids.

Next Simpsons. If Simpsons started in the internet age, it would have been ripped, too. Shows need time to BREATHE!

Laugh Out Loud funny. Edgy. Everyone who hates this show hates it because it's not geared for kids. That's a bizzarre yardstick to be using.

Reading the comments below, many of the people who gave this show low marks freely admit to not watching it. As someone who has watched it, I really like it. It feels like the Simpsons when it started. I'll be excited to see how it grows.

I really really like this show! I found it on iTunes and was hooked almost immediately. What is an okay premise -- the show is basically "The Simpsons take to the road" -- is elevated by beautiful animation, imaginative story telling, and the great vocal talents of Kevin Nealon and Catherine O'Hara. My favorite episode guest starred Chrissie Hynde as part of an over the hill "bangles" band, and told a nice story about dreams versus priorities, and how wives are expected to subjugate themselves for their husbands. Set the Tivo and check it out. I have no idea when it's on. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. its a great show, funny jokes, dont get why some people criticize the animation, although it could go without that damn dog, aside from that the only people that dont like it ( or obnoxiously complain for that matter) are these over protective parents that dont recognize pure and simple comedy with an edge. ONE OF THE MOST CRIMINALLY UNDERRATED COMEDIES OF THE 21st CENTURY. GMDDS is a gleefully subversive animated show that can hold its own against anything Fox has ever aired on a Sunday night. Part of a short-lived effort from Nick-At-Night to produce programs that would appeal to the parents of its daytime audience, the network shot itself in the foot TWICE with this program. First wasONE OF THE MOST CRIMINALLY UNDERRATED COMEDIES OF THE 21st CENTURY. First was the bizarre insistence in adding a laugh track to the first few episodes. While the track was quickly scrapped after critics savaged it, the program had already acquired the reputation of "that claymation show with the laugh track." Another misstep was aggressively marketing the show to the pre-tween viewers of SpongeBob. When parents got a look at what their kids were watching, they went ballistic.

Despite these fumbles by the network, the show did garner a devoted cult audience which found the show on Amazon Prime and Youtube.

The show is clever in parts, but it's just not that funny.
  2. But ignore the stilted jokes, the limp characterization, the complete lack of "re-imagining" of anything. Just understand this: Martin is an animated show with a laugh track.

It's a format that just doesn't mesh with a laughtrack -- and when there's nothing particularly funny about what we're watching, it smacks of desperation.
