This is the greatest TV show ever made, even better than Breaking Bad, Fargo, and The Americans. People rating it anywhere below an 8 have something wrong with them. If you are objective in analyzing its aspects - directing, editing, plot, setting, production value, sound, music, dialogue, etc. - it should average about a 9.5, and below an 8 is just criminal.

I don't understand people - specifically professional journalists, reviewing an entire season of Game of Thrones (or any show for that matter) on one single episode. Because most/all of these publications don't have advanced access to the series, their reviews are pretty much worthless. As for me, two episodes in and I'm enjoying everything that's happening. The stories aren't as vastly-numbered, making it easier for me to follow the show, and the action is seemingly more readily available. The future in terms of the narrative are also intriguing as the remnants of the Stark family seem to be on a path of reuniting (nothing is certain and nothing has been made apparent in that regard, so not a spoiler) and the focus shifts on the White Walkers and the two major forces remaining in the 7 Kingdoms (Lanister and Targaryen). After watching this shorter 7-episode season, which caps it all off with an extended season finale (1 hr 20 mins), I have to say this was my favorite season of GoT yet. The pacing is superb, there are big stories to unravel and as everything slowly fuses together the show suddenly becomes more cohesive than it ever had been. With only one more season to go it's sad to think that the mayhem is going to scale up a bit before it all comes to a sudden close. The only good news is that, despite an even shorter season 8 (6 episodes are planned), those episodes are going to be movie-length. I've never loved this show more than I do now after the season 7 finale. Expand

Amazing that this show stays so good. EP1 is a table setting episode but yet still epic and enthralling as any of the EP1's in previous seasons. The plot is now quite fast moving. The quality of the acting, sets and graphics is still tip top notch.

Excellent premiere. If this is what the rest of the season looks like, then we should be prepared for the best GoT season yet. Legendary TV.

I for one was waiting for GoT to include more fantastic elements. From Battle of Bastards in season six, through the end of season seven it exceeded my expectations. Surpassing every movie and show ever made in both grit & fantasy - there is nothing in the same league with GoT. Bottom line: Highest production value on television ever. GAME OF THRONES is an unprecedented spectacle. The next season showed that even in a very short time creators can move the story forward without beating around the bush. Spectacular scenes great CGI and lots of action.

Game of Thrones returns to form with high stakes tension and visually splendid thrills as meticulous power plays help its disparate plot threads coalesce, resulting in long term payoffs for its lovable characters -- particularly the female ones -- in the show's best stretch of episodes.

This season of Game of Thrones is full of non-stop tension, terrific action sequences and story moments that help fill in the bigger pieces to an almost complete puzzle. While the season is shorter, this show proves why it’s one of the biggest and best in the world.

probably a little optimistic season but still excellent, they really need to start closing circles. they decided the optimistic path, Knowing George RR Martin, he would have killed another two Starks already, still give Tyrion an important role(my theory is that Tyrion is George RR Martin alter Ego)

Game of Throne fans again can expect nothing but the best in season 7.

Perhaps the best first episode since season four's "Two Swords". The dialogue has recaptured a lot that was lost in the last 2 seasons. The performances are great, mainly the big improvement in the performance by Pilou Asbæk as Euron Greyjoy. With Westeros looking smaller than ever, the stories have already started to collide in magnificent ways thanks to the winter, a time for wolves.

The characters are beautifully layered, no one really appearing black and white though their motives may be. With Season 7 underway, I'm even more engrossed in Westeros and the wars to come!

The episode "Dragonstone" was perfectly set up. I think the slow pace was perfect; not too much, not too little. With "Stormborn" following, that pace amped up dramatically and again, beautifully. The character development is stunning and the crossing of plots keeps things on a brisk pace! I'm truly terrified for the characters I've fallen madly in love with.

    Keep it up, GoT! :)

The seventh season of "Game of Thrones" is basically the calm before the storm. The characters break free from anything that has been holding them back as they have to prepare for war. Meetings, team-ups and alliances that we had or had not expected are finally happening. Winter has arrived. It's probably the fastest, most epic and most beautiful looking season of the show yet.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Even though this season wasn't as good as previous seasons it was still another A+ to me. Lead acting this season was outstanding especially from Emilia Clarke, Maisie Williams, Peter Dinklage, Lena Headey, Sophie Turner, Kit Harington, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Pilou Asbæk, Gwendoline Christie, Jerome Flynn, John Bradley, and Kristofer Hivju. Supporting acting the season was excellent especially from Diana Rigg, Rory McCann, Iain Glen, Isaac Hempstead Wright, Aidan Gillen, Liam Cunningham, Alfie Allen, and Bella Ramsey. This season the battles and fights were phenomenal especially the battle between the Lannister army against Daenerys, Drogon, and the Dothraki, the battle between Jon Snow, Tormund Giantsbane, The Hound, The Brotherhood, Daenerys, Drogon, Rhaegal, and Viserion against the undead wights, and the fight training between Brienne and Arya. This season the visual effects were remarkable especially undead Viserion wight, undead Snow Bear, Drogon, and Daenerys riding on Drogon. The costumes this season were terrific especially Lena Headey's costumes, Emilia Clarke's costumes, and Kit Harington's costumes. The storytelling and writing were wonderful this season. The makeup effects were great this season especially on the undead Giant wight and Jorah's Greyscales. The music was great in this season. Also the last scene was really cool. Game of Thrones is still my 2nd favorite tv show of all time. Expand

The crisp editing of the Arya sequence, exploiting dramatic irony right up to the breaking point, was one among numerous scenes that seemed to indicate Thrones isn't just keeping up to its old standards but actually learning new tricks. Another was the introduction of Samwell Tarly's life in Old Town--who knew this show, which has mastered wartime action but had never produced a quickfire sequence quite like this one, with its repetitive chamber pots to be emptied, could be quite this sharp?

As per every premiere episode of Game of Thrones, the pace is slow. Setting up each new carefully constructed season--the complex weave of story lines, the huge cast, the breathtaking locations--takes time. But Benioff and Weiss have pulled it off once again, if not with a bit more humor than in previous seasons.
