Lead acting this season was outstanding especially from Emilia Clarke, Maisie Williams, Peter Dinklage, Lena Headey, Sophie Turner, Kit Harington, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Pilou Asbæk, Gwendoline Christie, Jerome Flynn, John Bradley, and Kristofer Hivju. Supporting acting the season was excellent especially from Diana Rigg, Rory McCann, Iain Glen, Isaac Hempstead Wright, Aidan Gillen, Liam Cunningham, Alfie Allen, and Bella Ramsey. This season the battles and fights were phenomenal especially the battle between the Lannister army against Daenerys, Drogon, and the Dothraki, the battle between Jon Snow, Tormund Giantsbane, The Hound, The Brotherhood, Daenerys, Drogon, Rhaegal, and Viserion against the undead wights, and the fight training between Brienne and Arya. This season the visual effects were remarkable especially undead Viserion wight, undead Snow Bear, Drogon, and Daenerys riding on Drogon. The costumes this season were terrific especially Lena Headey's costumes, Emilia Clarke's costumes, and Kit Harington's costumes. The storytelling and writing were wonderful this season. The makeup effects were great this season especially on the undead Giant wight and Jorah's Greyscales. The music was great in this season. Also the last scene was really cool. Game of Thrones is still my 2nd favorite tv show of all time.… Expand

    Game of Thrones returns to form with high stakes tension and visually splendid thrills as meticulous power plays help its disparate plot threads coalesce, resulting in long term payoffs for its lovable characters -- particularly the female ones -- in the show's best stretch of episodes.

    This was the first piece of a mess that happened. I felt very disappointed that this season became what it did and thank god that there are still a few qualities... But this wasn't Game of Thrones anymore.

    I for one was waiting for GoT to include more fantastic elements. From Battle of Bastards in season six, through the end of season seven it exceeded my expectations. Surpassing every movie and show ever made in both grit & fantasy - there is nothing in the same league with GoT. Bottom line: Highest production value on television ever. Jaw dropping to watch and highly    Legendary TV.

    S7 has some plotholes, but its main issue has to do with the villain, Game Of Thrones is a show that doesn't give you the typical good guy/bad guy story, all the main characters have flaws and virtues. But the Night King / White Walkers look like nothing more than our typical villain who are evil without any reason.     Game of Throne fans again can expect nothing but the best in season 7. This season finally has brought it all together and answered so many of questions that we had through the first 6 seasons of GOT. The story continues to draw the viewers in and never leaves us disappointed. I like how they split season 7 into basically 2 seasons. Winter has finally come and when part two of season 7Game of Throne fans again can expect nothing but the best in season 7.     With only seven episodes in this season, this is definitely the most fast-paced season in the series thus far. Season 7 continues to pump out a batch of outstanding episodes, with the buildup of the previous 6 seasons paying off tremendously.

    When Daenerys finally arrives in westeros, she will try to take the throne from the lannisters, but at the same time in the north, something really big is happening and Jon Snow will do whatever it takes to defend the land. This season is pretty much about that, Daenerys trying to take the throne, Cersei defending the throne and Jon Snow convincing the rest of westeros that a bigger dangerWhen Daenerys finally arrives in westeros, she will try to take the throne from the lannisters, but at the same time in the north, something really big is happening and Jon Snow will do whatever it takes to defend the land. This season is pretty much about that, Daenerys trying to take the throne, Cersei defending the throne and Jon Snow convincing the rest of westeros that a bigger danger is coming from beyond the wall.
    This season had a major problem, wich is that it made me stop being afraid of the main characters to die, Jon Snow goes through really dangerous situations and i never believed that he could die, he became like the hero of the story and this is a really big problem, in previous seasons i was always afraid of the characters to die, i knew that no one was never safe, but now, there Deus ex maquina situations that won't let the main characters die, that is a big problem in this season.
    There are really few political moments in this season, and those aren't complicated to understand like it was in other seasons. The stories told in this season are way more direct, and some of them aren't really well solved, like somethings really felt that were out of place. A thing that really bothered me was the conveniences and the senseless moments, there is somethings that happens that was just meant to be cool and didn't really made the story flow in a way that had sense, the timelapse in this season was relly wrong, it is better just to forget about it. But in other hand, it wasn't totally bad, it did had some nice political and story moments, mainly between Cersei and Tyrion, these two had the best story moments in the season, one fighting the other with strategy and words, that was very good, the season had some really interesting dialogues among some characters, that is geat, because it gave more structure for them.. There is a lot of fan service in this season, and some of them felt out of place, and the coherence in the narrative was a bit let on side, but it wasn't that bad.
    The action in this season was in other level, it got really beyond anything that we have ever had in a television, HBO is in a completely other level. The coreography here in fights are really involving, it isn't unique, but is pretty damn cool, the dragons during the battles are so dope, they just come and they killed it, they are so dope.
    The season was exciting, it was kind of a payoff of what we had before, it is finally everything flowering.
    The Winterfell nucleo is not the best, it is nice to see what is going on there after so many time, but what happens there feels to much innocent, i got strange with those parts.
    The character of Brandon Stark is horrible now, we just don't understand what he is doing, what functional he have, and he also is a jerk now, that is so bad, his journey in this season is that bad.
    This seasons got some conclusions that are completely Deux ex maquina, it is in a level like some character comes out of nowhere and gave some easy solution, this happens more than one time, it is lazy.
    One good thing about this season is that the winter has finally come, and how they they deal with it was very nice, all the suits are changed, of everyone, even the soldiers, it had a good detail job here. When it finally got there it have a beautiful sequence, done with major and a great song in the background.
    The acting was interesting, Aidan Gillen as Littlefinger did a very good job during the whole series, maybe he was a bit to much caricature, with a deep voice and saying that he wants everything, but still, i totally believed that he knew what he was doing and felt completely safe and having a plan for everything. Maisie Williams in this season had a different behavior, she was like the waif in other seasons, i'm not sure about that, if that was a good idea, i feel that is a totally different character in not the best way, i don't Arya to become a T-1000.
    Emilia Clarke wasn't all that good, her interpretation in some moments wasn't enough for me to believe in some emotions.
    This seasons wasn't perfect, but even with that it never felt boring, the plot runned, somethings was really dumb, but i liked the most part of it.    … Expand

    The seventh season of "Game of Thrones" is basically the calm before the storm. The characters break free from anything that has been holding them back as they have to prepare for war. Meetings, team-ups and alliances that we had or had not expected are finally happening. Winter has arrived. It's probably the fastest, most epic and most beautiful looking season of the show yet.

    This season of Game of Thrones is full of non-stop tension, terrific action sequences and story moments that help fill in the bigger pieces to an almost complete puzzle. While the season is shorter, this show proves why it’s one of the biggest and best in the world.

    Deteriorating as the show people take over completely. In the early seasons all the changes they made were terrible and showed they didn't understand the source material, but they were relatively small changes. Now it slips into vacuousness.

    Do not believe any of those negative reviews. I honestly cannot understand why some reviewers have given this such a low rating. I think some people love the sound of their own voice and think their opinion is worth something and will be disagreeable simply for the sake of it.

    Having said that, this show is stunning. I have never read the books and now I want to. There is so much crap on TV that is renewed year after year (CSI, House etc.) which uses cheap gags, pointless and sometimes ridiculous plots, unbelievable and many times one dimensional characters and yet all the truly great shows get cancelled.

    There is enough brain-dead television. But once in a while a show comes along that transports you to another world and makes you believe in the magic of television again. Game of Thrones is one such show.

    It is complex, multi-layered, surreal, vibrant, imaginative and it draws your eye in to the surprising level of detail, from the sweeping vistas, to the narrow dungeons, from the beautiful castles and magnificent trees, to the contrasting landscapes. It is worth watching just for the scenery alone.

    Yes the acting seems a little cold and even wooden at times, but this is perfectly in keeping with the medieval look and feel of the show. Yes it is dark and gloomy, but again in keeping with the narrative.

    The scripting is intelligent and well delivered by competent acting, led by Sean Bean perfectly cast as Lord Edard. Although Sean Bean is better known for brooding bad guys, he strikes the perfect balance between father, husband and Lord and soldier. He is well supported by other well known actors and many new to the scene.

    After watching and sometimes enjoying Camelot, this show makes that one look more like "Merlin" by comparison. And where Camelot lacks in depth and scripting, Game of Thrones strikes the perfect balance between brooding medieval angst and wonderful fantasy story telling.

    Even if you have never watched a fantasy show before, you should not miss this.    … Expand

    3 episodes in, and I am quite impressed. The first two episodes (especially the premiere) focused on setting up the plot lines and character arcs of the season. The third episode also had a considerable amount of set-up, but it also moved at a faster pace and brought quite a few surprises. This is shaping up to be the best season yet. The writing is still stellar, the acting top notch, and3 episodes in, and I am quite impressed.     There isn't much to say about this show that hasn't already been said. The characters are dynamic and deep, the multiple plot concept keeps audience members on the edge of their seats as twists and turns of beautiful written work comes to reality.

However, it's becoming abundantly clear that the show runners are ready for this show to end, and it's impacting the quality of storytelling quite a bit. The writing this season was quite sloppy compared to previous. Plot holes and ridiculously absurd story lines were sprinkled all throughout the story. Specifically, the Winterfell storyline and the mission beyond the Wall. The writers are doing a disservice to Arya's character and have been doing so since the middle of season 6. It's quite obvious at this point that the reason that D&D were such great writers and showrunners was because of GRRM's material. Now that they are past the book material, they are no where near the writers they once were. They seem to have abandoned logic and effective story telling and replaced it with spectacle. Don't get me wrong, season 7 was an incredible season. But, it seems the show has all but lost the little moments of dialogue, political intrigue, and character developments that made the first 4 seasons what I would consider the 4 best seasons of television ever. Additionally, they've lost the sense of intensity and anxiety that was so prevalent in the first few seasons. We never knew who was going to die next. Nobody seemed safe. They have lost that; it appears that actions no longer demand appropriate consequences like they did in the first few seasons. I just hope that the showrunners are able to deliver a final season that both we as fans and the show truly deserves.… Expand

    Simply the best tv show this year. . Finally all that was built up in the first 6 seasons is happening and that makes me so satisfied and so proud for being a fan of the show. Another must-see season of Game of Thrones.

Remember when it took Arya and The Hound an entire season to reach the Eryie? Now characters travel to multiple occasions across the continent in a single episode. Little time is given to any of the secondary characters. This whole season there was only really one major side story aside from the main one. Now that it is resolved I fear the next season will seem even more simplified. I loved Game of Thrones for it's complexity.

    GAME OF THRONES is an unprecedented spectacle. The next season showed that even in a very short time creators can move the story forward without beating around the bush. Spectacular scenes great CGI and lots of action.

    One particularly noticeable example, which has been discussed at length on the web, was Daenerys rescue of Jon Snow and his gang from beyond the wall. The scene itself was undeniably edge of your seat stuff but the time scale required for her to reach them in the time just made no logical sense and could easily have been cleaned up with just a couple of minor changes. Yes, this is a fantasy show, but you have to remain consistent to the rules of the world you’ve created if you want to keep your viewers absorbed in proceedings.

    I’ll admit I still look forward to watching a new episode of Game of Thrones more than virtually any other TV show I can think off but it no longer has the narrative consistency that made earlier seasons so unique.    … Expand

    This is the first season of GOT in a long time that wasn't mostly filler. Seven episodes in a season is a good number, and HBO should have ordered seven per season after season three. Looking at the ratings, seems like fans appreciated the tighter story line and no nonsense.

    The crisp editing of the Arya sequence, exploiting dramatic irony right up to the breaking point, was one among numerous scenes that seemed to indicate Thrones isn't just keeping up to its old standards but actually learning new tricks. Another was the introduction of Samwell Tarly's life in Old Town--who knew this show, which has mastered wartime action but had never produced a quickfire sequence quite like this one, with its repetitive chamber pots to be emptied, could be quite this sharp?

    As per every premiere episode of Game of Thrones, the pace is slow. Setting up each new carefully constructed season--the complex weave of story lines, the huge cast, the breathtaking locations--takes time. But Benioff and Weiss have pulled it off once again, if not with a bit more humor than in previous seasons.

    Scenes in the middle of the show with Samwell Tarly (John Bradley) cleaning bedpans and serving soup at the Citadel dragged. ... The show thrills when concentrating on its formidable female characters.
