    It really feels like they were going for a zany, over-the-top vibe to match the Seussian weirdness driving this story, and while the set design and costumes got there, the performances, songs, and blocking didn’t quite make it.

    The Grinch Musical! certainly didn't earn its exclamation point, or do anything to make a cranky critic's too-small heart grow one size, much less three. So while it's a bit tired, perhaps, to say it in rhyme, this Grinch, alas, wasn't worth the time.

    A pelvic-thrusting, bad-punning, screeching version of the green curmudgeon was not what anyone wanted or needed in 2020. Morrison did his level best – he's a good performer, but the part simply never should have been written. ... This version of the "Grinch" can be summed up in three words: stink, stank, stunk.

    Queue up the original 1966 Grinch special, or even one of the two movies before even considering Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch Musical! You’ll never see the Grinch the same way after watching this mess.

    Nobody in this musical is even good a singing. They are frequently off key and are almost never harmonizing. Not to mention the acting isNobody in this musical is even good a singing.
