The good news is that Doom Patrol delivers that experience without having to take the Acid. I was pleasantly surprised by the Doom Patrol. I went in blind personally. Then as I watched I realized the cast was top-notch, the acting was fantastic, and the stories were as wild as you can imagine, then a bit further. The comic characters are fleshed out to a level, I believe no other TV is close to, nor even major Comic Movies are even close to. Every character is downright someone you can feel with, and every character is completely flawed, exactly how they would be in real life. I can't believe we are getting this quality of the show on TV. Absolutely stunning. My 1 issue with the show. Cyborg's suit. It needs to be fixed soon, cause every time I see him on screen, it feels like a super low budget Day time drama.… Expand

First, most of the bad reviews are from people who thought this was going to be an action packed avengeresque series. The main battles you will see here are the heroes against there own hang ups. It starts strong, flounders a bit through the middle, then ends on a truly epic note over the last few episodes. Doom Patrol is absolutely incredible. I would say that it's DC's Daredevil, but even that might not be doing justice to how amazing this show really is. It alone makes DC Universe worth the monthly fee.

This show is perfect. This is the best show DC has done. The acting and story are really good. There is not a bad episode. It is totally worth the subscription to DC Universe. I highly recommend this show.

I really like Doom Patrol. The story is about unwilling heroes. This isn't a jam packed action series. On the contrary, it's emotional, funny and psychological. TL;DR - Every single time I thought that this show could not get any weirder it proved me wrong and kept chugging along into such fascinatingly weird plot-lines, couple that with good character writing and you have Doom Patrol S01. Any complaint that I have with the show is in the territory of nit-picking and in light of the garbage fire blandness that CW produces I cannot as a comic book fan and as a patron of good/weird imagination nit pick this show or label it as anything other than Fascinating and Entertaining.

I was so close to have given up on DC Live action after the horrendous Titans and all of the positive feed back that Show has received, 'Doom Patrol' saved me and my hope for Good Writing in a Comic Book based Show. From the first episode they start off strong with Alan Tudyk's introduction and followed by Brendan as a foulmouthed race car driver, this show had me in it's embrace.
Every episode that follows introduced us to new characters and gave us writing strong enough for me to care for each and every one of our leads since it is hard to pin down a single person in the show as a lead. It will be mistake to single out any aspect of the show as better than another as everything is was well paced from character interactions/bonding to motivation's and character growths.

This Pilot Season does it right by giving the viewers a show driven by the actors playing their parts to such delightful charm that you sympathize/empathize and connect with every single person even the one's that were there just for an episode or two. Now this is not to say that the it does anything groundbreaking or reinventing but does so with heart and soul. And I wish just like Marvel/MCU found it's niche this Show and it's style of Comic Book/Character Driven content will also find a good niche to enjoy the perfect blend of Body Horror/Dark Tonality/Imagination/Wit and Comedy this show pulls off so effortlessly that any complaints I have with some of the dialogue and other things is such a microscopic issue that it can be overlooked completely.… Expand

Doom Patrol has a great cast of actors, no denying that.
The first two episodes really got me interested, but unfortunately, it got boring fast.

It was fun to see how they brought "Danny the gay genderqueer cross-dressing street" from the comics to the screen.
Embracing the silliness was done perfectly, and I do like their take on Mr. Nobody.

Around episode 7 and 8, it gets good again, the final episode was somewhat of a let down for me personally though.

Beard hunter was disgusting, and over the top for me.

Overall good first season, hopefully, they can adjust their course a little bit and perfect their flaws and it should be great!
Those complaining about "SJW" stuff, clearly have no idea what they're talking about.
If Danny the Street makes you uncomfortable, that's on you for not knowing who it is.… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I began watching Doom Patrol after I finished Titans on Netflix, as I learnt of this show through one crossover episode. Earlier I was a bit hesitant to watch it, since I didn't know any of these superheroes. However, when I began watching it and learnt Cyborg was in it, I thought maybe I won't be so lost after all.

And now I think this is my favourite TV show of all time. The continuous fourth wall breaking is interesting BECAUSE of being overdone, the fact that the story doesn't progress at all in the first 13 episodes is hilarious, the characters are given depth and we can understand it very well why they cannot get over their past and learn to live in the present because of their depression and arrogance.

Although Season 2 was a bit underwhelming and rushed with a very unsatisfying ending, you can very well understand it happened because of the sudden COVID lockdown. I hope after the pandemic ends the season will be continued and a proper ending will be given, although I don't mind if they start directly with a Season 3.

My favourite character in the series was Robotman (Cliff Steele). Whenever he is around we know something interesting or funny will happen. Plus he looks so cool. His fight with Jesus in the last episode and when he got a rat in his circuit left me in splits. I hope to see more of this in future. I recommended this show to all my friends and they all liked it. I'd recommend you to see it too if you are above 18.… Expand

If you don't have any knowledge of the Doom Patrol it don't is a problem, why it explains so good the characters and the history. You only need to seen the series to know about the Doom Patrol.
