This Doctor Who feels like a lot of other TV shows, not just in its writing but in its pacing, its cinematography, its use of music. When the scary monsters appear, you could be watching any other well-made but conventional science-fiction or horror show. Or a police procedural, for that matter. Everything about the show is more ordinary, which may have to do with levels of inventiveness but also feels like a choice. ... Ms. Whittaker performs gamely, if not yet distinctively, as the 2,000-year-old Time Lord. It’s far too early to tell what kind of stamp she might put on the character.

Cliched story, caricatures of characters, predictable in basically every way.

Only positive I saw was some of the visuals in the first 10 minutes, but it seems highly apparent that they blew a lot of the budget out the gate.

What is worse is that this doctor is just a knock off of the Tenant/Smith doctor which is the absolute last thing Doctor who needed.

    EDIT: E02

The visuals of the intro sequence were phenomenal. However the music is off a literal beat. It is nice however to be done with Capaldi's Christmas intro with its jingle bells.

Episode 2 shows where the show is going. Completely illogical setups and predictable outcomes. For example you can see and connect the episodes "solution" a full 25 minuets before it happens showing how predictable this incarnation is.

Whitakers depiction is increasingly becoming more ridiculous and scatterbrained. She is practically a companion herself leaving this to be Doctorless Who.

In the end like most of the visuals, the new Tardis is outstanding, if an odd, eclectic feel. The shame is that long term this doctor is not up to all these slick visuals with the character being written so poorly as an imitation of far better doctors.

    Edit E03

And with that this incarnation of the doctor and almost certainly Chibnalls tenure becomes unwatchable. Much as many people predicted it becomes a breeding ground for racism, sexism and otherwise normal SJW bigotry. Bending over backwards to show the audience just how "woke" it is with its civil rights narrative. Furthermore it tries to force white guilt upon the one white companion who was already made out to be a doddering old white fool for everyone to scapegoat. It is an absolute shame that a show as venerated as Doctor Who can be dragged through the SJW muck and mire.

I have no problem with the doctor being made a woman. It could have been done so well. Had they simply had the doctor simply be a woman it might have been alright, but with this episode it removes the last shadow of doubt that this is not merely a case where actual equality is at play, but an agenda is at work that seeks to social engineer a world of equality built through inequity, and bigotry. If it cant be contained within 3 episodes, It tells you that it will undoubtedly influence and taint all the episodes of at the very least the remainder of this season.

Final Edit: This incarnation shows why the doctor is normally only allowed so many regenerations.

The script was boring, there were no opening credits, and the acting was wooden. It was a bore-fest! 55 years of Doctor Who and now this pile of rubbish, hopefully they will sack everyone and get some got writers and a good actor to play the doctor. Full Review »

After 3rd episode I made a decision -- it's worst Doctor ever. Political agenda is not very believable and actors doesn't seems to be believable.
